  • A stallion is a Horse, but the difference is gelding and stallion is the testosterone driven behavior. That can cause aggression, can cause the tendency to challenge rivals but also means that the Horse is able to deal with his male hormones. They can, thats part of their instinct that stallions are able to have self control.
In animal world the stallion would have to be the prefect partner for his mares so he once a tear mount his mares. That is behavior that inside the male Horse. That means that he has to be a gentleman towards the ladies and has to behave like a perfect partner. It also means that most of the time he is the one who cares and protects his ladies. We see that when a stallion is moving his herd and has this snaking of the head to move the herd forward.
When people use imprint methods and are not well informed about normal Horse behavior there is a chance that things go wrong. A Horse can be mixed up in who is who and might treat you like one of his own kind.
That is lust and if that happens in the relationship horse/human it might get into serious issues because a stallion can mount you.
Be very careful is hi instinctual sexual needs, they can;t help it that they have this need but we have to aware that male Horse behave different then mares and geldings do.

this is excellent advice because its important to remember that stallions can be trained, but it is very difficult. I horseback ride myself so I have a lot of respect for what you are doing.

+Savannah Funkhouser So did I, there are hard to find. Many people see things as hierarchic, in the horse world its not, it is about cooperation and work/live together.
There is a lot of nonsense out there, not that I have all the wisdom but I prefer common sense and kindness. It works better for me, and for horses.
Being kind is not that hard.

They drop their penis for multiple reasons,
They drop it when they wanna air it, when they are comfortable and when they need to pee, or want to get sexual.
This stallion is very comfortable with you, he is very good behaving, you're in his field, and he lets you, he is telling you, you can be here.. he is seeing you can be trusted and you love him, this how stallions should be with a good owner.
    Very nice video
Stallion feel it when they have an owner with no patient, or people who don't give lovable attention [petting] Stallions inc with other horses, need social life, being around others, having something to spend their time with.
    Beautifully done!

+Marit Hej, I missed your comment, sorry for the delay.
Yes he is a very gentle and nice horse. High temperament but such a gentleman.
Many stallions are more insecure then people assume, they want to do their best bit actually I think that is for many horses the same. They prefer a social life, but stallions actually like one thing…. MARES ;-)

O how nice, a mare, I wish I had a mare. My first horse was a mare, she was great. They are the mothers. Happy to hear this. Please do not hesitate to send pictures or better…. a movie :-)
And thank you for your nice words. It feels better to make them happy and keep their dignity, they give that back on us. After all horses are high social skilled. They are gentle and kind, so is pretty easy to be kind to them.
