Beautiful work, thanks very much for the review! What a great look these Vespids have, a nice mix of modern and vintage, not too clean and clinical. To my mind, the 90 macro is the icing on the cake with this set. What stunning images you got, so good to be able to focus so close. I've been on the fence for a while between these, the Meikes and the SLR Magic APO Microprimes, but the range in this set, the weight, and the focus throw being less than the Meikes swing things towards the DZOs. Curious to know what they'll look like with a Glimmerglass filter, I imagine extremely gorgeous!
Hi Russ been watching a lot of your video now and I see you’ve been using a lot of cine lens, in your opinion can you tell me what would be the best choose for shooting music videos and short narratives ? I’m using the black magic 6k pro and Sony a7s iii
Hi Russell! Great content - your great visuals have actually inspired me to buy the Panasonic S1H - late to the party, I know... Just wondering - do you use the FotoDiox ND Throttle Adapter? And if yes - what is your experience with it, does it tint the footage, lose stops of light or have any other negative impact on the footage?
I loved the video, I must confess that the image does not look so "vintage" or old compared to other reviews of this lens and that is why I like your video. It is a mixture of old and modern at least in your images. Is it due to color correction? Do you think it can also work in videos that I want to show a more current and "less old" image? I await your response and keep up the great work my friend!
Thanks! I think the final image can depend on colour too, agreed. I think psychologically there’s a vintage feel from the colour and environment. But, that said the lenses are more modern than vintage I think in hindsight, but have a really nice commercial look. I loved them.
@@RussellKentNicholls Thank you very much for answering, just a couple more questions and with this I close. I have seen beautiful videos of yours where you show that you work with the Rokinon Cine line. Which ones do you like the most visually? The rokinon or the vespid? and which ones are more neutral in color or at least more faithful to the colors of real life?
Very nicely shot. just ordered me the 16, 35, and 75mm. Which did you use? By the way, don't set the lens on the rear mount naked on the floor! Good work tho.
Hi Russell you have a new fan here :) just love to consume your content. I realize that you are using both Ninja V and Shinobi. Which of those you are ending up using more and why ? Do you prefer recording straight to the camera (S1H) and do not bother with external recording?
Hi! Ah thanks so much for watching! So I have both the ninja V and Shinobi, however I have probably only recorded to an SSD about two or three times. I much much prefer to record internally every time. I don’t really have the need to record externally, I’ve never had a problem with SD cards and it’s much easier for me to offload my footage that way :)
@@RussellKentNicholls Okey no problem..but ar these DzoFilm lenses rly like some cine primes? In my opinion they ar not looking like idk that "cinema feeling".
Can you go into a little bit more detail about how well the 3dfocus part works I know when a gimbal trying to pull focus is a pain in the butt so I wonder how good that really is once you kind of get the hang of it?
Hey CJ. It works every time and so easy to use BUT it has limits ie. works best on larger subjects and only in the centre of the frame. It’s easy to turn on and off with either the button or LCD screen so I find myself flipping between it on and off. It’s been a game changer for complex moves with MF tho, I’d not be without it now. It’s so cheap as well considering, so I would recommend it for sure.
@@RussellKentNicholls No one talks about the focus peeking on the RS2 with and without the 3d focus in the DJI app as your monitor. how good is that.. the bmpcc6k's peeking is almost NON existent! especially in the latest firmware.. would love to see some screenshots or even a short video of how that is working to rack focus with the DJI app's peeking.
The footage looks insane! You’re so damn talented dude
These lenses are crazy!! Team Lumix!!
loved the video and also this BTS/ Review! Really helps and lot and your grading is on point man!!😍

Thanks so much! I wish I had more time with them; they were really beautiful to use and great value also. Yes with a glimmer glass they’d be 👌👌👌

Beautiful, as a recent s1h owner I’m very curious about this rear mounted Nd filter, care to share what product?
Sure!! This is the one I use; it’s awesome: amzn.to/3nMzhcI
