The "100% chest" is very annoying. Larger-busted women don't get to be represented? If I wanted to "recreate myself", I actually can't because I can't recreate my bust!
When they have a bulge slider and top surgery scars, but butt/boob size ends at "90 pound office worker". Soooo yeah, their "inclusive" choices are there to exclude 90-95% of their customer base. Wonder if that'll show in their sales.
Wait wait wait! You are irrealistic man fantasy if your bust is bigger than what the slider allow. How dare you exist in their inclusive world where you are not include?! Shame on you for reminding the world what a human look like 😂

Finally. It consistently baffles me how these people are actively erasing women from everything and… there seems to be little to no pushback from women over it
why the hell do they think making everything ugly is going to be an effective form of propaganda? talk about shooting yourself in the foot. what an utterly stupid idea.
Extreme narcissism. They're repulsed by games whose characters are much more attractive than they are (see Stellar Blade, NieR, etc), and believe a significant portion of the market is the same.
Y'know, there is a reason why war propaganda was so effective If they were in charge of war propaganda, the losses would actually be fewer, because not even half of the men would enlist
The Qunari of previous games were shown to be a thick, heavily muscled species, to the point that their corrupted forms were called Ogres. This game makes them look like someone smashed an Elf's face with a mace and the stuck some horns on top od the lumps that formed.
The Arishok and his crew in DA2 was the best representation of the qunari race in the franchise. Sten couldn't have horns in DA:O and still looks better than these soy boys they are calling qunari
even elves just look human with elf ears. In 2 they had facial structures that were navi-esque (avatar) and inquisition gave their body a smaller frame.
The OVERWHELMING majority of so-called "top surgery" scars in the real world are from mastectomies women have had due to BREAST CANCER. What a lovely and sensitive option to add to a game.
Honestly, if they were to have such a storyline/ subplot/ character quest and handle it well, it could be interesting. So, basically not ones like this, probably
@@SessmaruKusanagiGaming But it's still a very insensitive thing to add. How is that 'inclusivity' and 'sensitivity'? Pandering to those on their list, and not caring about anyone else? I'm sure there are trans people who don't want to be reminded of their scares as well. It's only a certain type of person who will see it as a 'badge of honour.' I'm not deriding those people, but itis not a universal given and IMO is insensitive to add as a GAME option. Remember this is a GAME, not therapy! And if you say "why can't it be therapy" well because that can be at the expense of someone else who could have negative connotations and reactions to this type of thing. Just an over all badly thought out move IMO.
The average women actually has quite a well endowed behind aswell as a cup size over B... they can't include that, but they can include scars for people that had a very specific operation... in a fantasy world that could have healed that...
While I disagree that the 'average' woman has a cup size over D, even I don't want to be as flat looking as that character in the video (and I'm a B cup). Plus the ribcage looks the same on both women and men which isn't right. If I have to have my irl chest size at least let me look like a freddie moore girl, not like a boy that stuck some clementines under his shirt for a laugh.
the thing thats really stupid is they could have spent that time making a system that lets you place scar decals anywhere you wanted, and that'd be infinitely better while still letting you do this stupidity if you really insisted. idk what trans person would ever want to LOOK visibly trans, these devs are clearly high on something.
@@quantum5661 ones who claim they are but aren't probably are on the list, those that enjoy the idea of doing that to themselves, and the self obsessed? I don't know why you wouldn't just be what you already want to be in a game, especially in a setting where magic/tech exists enough so that you could even do something like this without obvious scarring.
Remember, every time a group is promoted due to preferences, some group gets demoted to compensate. The mistake they are making is a lot of guys play as attractive gals to have something nice to watch play or to honor their girl and if they can't do it the game will fail.
My husband and I laughed "been married for 15 years" at what Dragon Age has become. It used to be a dark fantasy rpg. This looks like dollar store BG3.

Ok, I'm a woman and while I don't care if my character in game looks like me, I never make myself in any game because I never want to play myself, I am annoyed at how little the sliders seem to make a difference. Regardless of what gender I play at I like to max out certain sliders because I like my characters to have serious cake. And when I play female character I admit I like them to have large chests because, hey, it's a game and thus I can get away with insane boobas. Guess I'll have to play this one on the pc and wait for the modders to do their thing.
No, dont play it. Or at least do the "ARRRR thingy" if you really cant stop yourself. If you dont stop giving this trash your money and attention, you don't deserve any better.
Top surgery scars are so redundant in a game with magic. You can just... use magic to transition??? WHY WOULD YOU EVEN HAVE TOP SURGERY SCARS WHEN THERE IS MAGIC
Uhm what would that "magic" be ? Like shapeshifting that was so difficult to practice on and that we only found out about it from a witch from some forest? Yes magic is real there but NOT FREE
@@pinkisblue4553 That was Ferelden, a backwater swamp country full of redneck rebels, heavily influenced by a church that mandates all mages be shackled or lobotomized for the common good. @@pinkisblue4553true, but think about it logically. It can heal wounds, revive the dead, treat injuries, and purge poisons, curses and diseases, yet it somehow can't heal simple scars, despite healing far worse, and leaving no scars? Shouldn't trans person be more inclined to play as an actual women (or men in some cases I guess). Being trans in game kinda beats the whole purpose of ROLEPLAY, especially because they can escape in fantasy and actually be treated like a women in those games. This is why people say that DEI and "diversity" is very shallow surface level, there's no actual thought put into it. It's just checkbox.
It's not even just excluding traditionally 'good looking' people, how bizarre would it look for someone on the heavier side to have tiny breasts and butt? That's just unnatural. And you would think that most trans people would just make a character that is the gender they identify as, anyway. I doubt many of them fantasize about having surgery scars, that's just a real world side effect. If it's a fantasy game why tie people down to realism? Especially when they made the choice to go more cartoony with the aesthetic.
Exactly, I am a very overweight woman myself and have both, a pretty big bust and butt. Even if I wanted to (but seriously, why would I?) try and recreate myself in the game, I would not be able to because they don't allow for those options. It's just senseless pandering for a barely existing audience. Want to be inclusive? Cool, then allow my big fat ass to make myself a big fat ass. I would then use it to NOT recreate my flabby body and instead create the pretty woman I'd like to be. Or be a thicc male twink elf or whatever. This is ridiculous.
"I doubt many of them fantasize about having surgery scars, that's just a real world side effect." This. I know a trans person who does not like people mentioning her voice because it's a reminder. The scars are only for people who think being trans is cool and not something that comes from a place of discomfort with your natural body.
@@hassathunter2464 It's not weird at all when you realize they are only doing stuff like this because they want attention. Very, _very_ few people actually have gender dysphoria, far more people are narcissists that want to have as much attention as possible, and if they can get that by mutilating themselves, they'll do it.
The thing is they don't understand fantasy. The narcissism of needing to be represented in everything boils down to the fact that many of these people don't have a personality or are extremely insecure about it so they cling onto superficial traits like gender or sexuality. Fantasy always needs placing yourself in the shoes of someone else and you need to relate to them as a person, but if you place your whole identity on something like gender, it becomes impossible. Just like how the cast for Rings of Power said: "Tolkiens works aim reflect the world we live in today".
Some clips online show why the characters look like an uncanny valley horror. The heads and shoulder proportions are warped. Big heads and small shoulders. It's weird. Even anime doesn't have warped proportions like that.
Part of me thinks they did that to cut corners and make everyone the same "frame" just so they don't have to refit armor for other races. It's hella easy to stretch a mesh, but remake the same thing 2 times, maybe even 3? A lot more time and effort. Which leaves you with this unholy horror of a dwarven-head on elven-shoulders for all characters.
@@luxniv3675 the same people that realized what the main issue was behind this proportions said that they are pretty sure BW did that to help in to the androgynous look.
@@SebbenifyI'm pretty sure that androgynous people can be chubby, too. I'm more likely to believe the mesh theory, since I've seen similar issues in Soul Calibur VI's character creator.
So as a woman that is curvy and loves character customization, this ain’t it. I’m just sticking with GTAO, Red Dead Redemption, Fallout 4, Street Fighter 6’s World Tour Mode, maybe revisit Code Vein, and any other character customization games I come across. If I cannot make myself or my ideal self in the game or the game is allergic to giving characters melons and a peach, then I do not want to waste my time on the game. This new Dragon Age game is NOT inclusive if they do not include curvy body types or shame players for wanting curvy body types. Inclusive and body positivity should mean including ALL body types. Not just certain bodies. But hey, maybe I’m wrong, maybe I’m a pick-me, maybe I have internalized misogyny. 🤷🏽♀️
It is literaly impossible to make a game that appeals EVEREYONE, that is the thing, game devs should realise that there is nothing wrong to make games a certain way, like make a joke game with hot female characters everywhere and a lot of action, or make a serius one that you keep playing for the story, that is the only true diversity, allow people to chose and have fun dammit. When you make a souless game that it is only a vehicule for ideologys and politics, expect losess lmao, just look what happened with Concord
I don't disagree, although I will still likely play for the story. Just buy it on steep discount... It is a shame however that everyone seems to be going o. This trend of making everything hyper realistic and "inclusive" (ugly), when really it is not inclusive at all in most regards. I miss when games were stylish instead of graphic intensive reality simulators...
as someone who would call a girl a pick-me and a misogynist, this isn’t something that would make you misogynistic or a pick-me. i’m a woman, and yes i agree with everything you said and for wanting other women’s body types to be represented too isn’t misogynistic and doesn’t make you a pick me
Or stretch marks. Or the fact that big boobs sag. It’s fantasy game, but, if you have to add realism, please introduce more scarring and body issues diversity, not a 3% population issue
Me (a 30 year old Mexican man) felt identified and represented by Cassandra in these games. Feels awful to know that apparently I shouldn't have since she doesn't look exactly like me
Yep, the ironic part about these freaks who claim to be so anti-racist, anti-sexist, etc is that there is nothing more racist and sexist than saying you are fully incapable of relating, identifying or sympathizing with a character that doesn't look _exactly_ like you.
The ironic part is that despite the exact people calling for this stuff claiming that they are against bigotry, there is nothing more bigoted than stating that you are incapable of identifying, sympathizing or relating with a character that doesn't look exactly like you.
@@otaking3582 agree. Dragon's Dogma 2 is just the original D.D. with a graphics update and some DLC...for full price. i didn't buy it, i already own Dragon's Dogma with it's DLC. Ohh, you get to play as cat people? cause that's worth 70 bucks after 11 yrs.
Those people don't understand the R of RPG, roleplay. You're not supposed to roleplay as yourself, or just open the door and go outside, no need for a game. Edit- typos.
To be fair, in RPGs, this past years I've enjoyed trying to replicate an OC of mine or something close to her in the character creator, if I can't make her look close enough, then I try to replicate myself, and it's also fun and valid.
Going out of the way to add top surgery scars but then also making sure the female characters never have anything other than an a cup feels intentional and it looks like we’re gonna have to watch another game fail
If you're talking about the criticism then I don't think making feminine characters is a lot to ask for in a game that is literally marketing their so called "inclusive" character creator. . .yet the only options are making a male, a masculine female, and something in between where the gender lines are blurred. . . I'm a woman that's less than 100 lbs and 5'2" and even I can't make a character that looks like me. And that's not even mentioning the fact that they purposefully made the proportions of the characters WRONG. Like, really wrong. They gave the characters heads that are way too big and the rest of the body isn't right either. They did this for "stylistic" purposes but it was honestly probably to cut corners so making armor was easier for each race. Now, all of the characters look off and stocky no matter what you do in the character creator. Just look at the pictures of the characters with fixed proportions. I really wanted to defend this game but I can't. I'll get it but there's no way I can play without mods that fix all of these issues.
Also fantastic about how all the ladies who have survived breast cancer can be reminded about their IRL trauma by adding the top scars, so stunning and brave of bioware!
The fact that they are, in effect, censoring larger bust/butt sizes just reinforces the idea that a curvy body is innately hyper-sexual, which is incredibly ironic because that's something progressives have been campaigning against for ages. Really can't make this stuff up.
I’ve said it for a while in their attempts to be sensitive to everyone they’ve become the conservatives they hate. In our fight for freedom and free expression we became what they used to be. The Script of Flipped, we are the counter culture now
They didn't design the character creator to represent the players, they created to represent themselves, and as typical of activists they're all ass ugly.
Of course it is, and rightly so. The more curvy (not to be confused with morbidly obese) the more it gives off underlying aesthetics of fertility. There is a specific bust to hips ratio that guys are hardwired to look for in a woman for maximum potential to have babies. It's not even a conscious thing.
@@KatallinaVT pretty sure there is some internalised mysogyny in there :) ... joke aside... im so grateful that they care about the important parts of the game. who need gameplay and story and such when you can have the right buttsize.
I genuinely think that it has nothing to do with inclusivity. they have made every model look androgynous because it makes it easier to rig said models in cutscenes and for armor etc etc. and then instead of being honest, instead of doing something in for example dragon age 2 where you have very little customization options for your hawke (which honestly i do not mind, i think the biggest criticism for dragon age 2 is that there was not enough of it. I dont mind being able to play only 1 character if that character is good). but instead of doing that, they have instead made every model look the same, with very minor slider modifications which allow them to cut so many corners. and then they can slap a couple of scars on the chest and say "look we designed our character creation with inclusivity in mind" its just laziness being masked behind a thin veil of inclusivity. because why cant you be fat? why cant you be muscular? why cant you be really short? why cant you be really tall? there are so many different ways a person can look, they have specifically chosen a single androgynous appearance and they have done so out of pure laziness cos they think they can get away with it if they pander to the woke crowd.
Celebrating people with mental illness who have gone so far as to mutilate their body is really disturbing. Top surgery is an extremely invasive, irreversible surgery and shouldn't be celebrated by video game companies. This isn't a simplistic subject or procedure and has no place being pandered to.
" i am incapable/unwilling to relate to people who don’t look like me! I'm SO "inclusive" and "tolerant", guys!"- the "inclusive" people The narcissism is disgusting.
From what I’ve seen it seems to represent a sub minority over actual women and men that want to be represented in game Very odd Very strange for a company that wants to be successful
As a small woman with pear shape body type, I wanted my elf to be tiny woman with big a*ss and thick thights. I dont know if the devs knows it, but most females have female body with wider hips and with this big a*ss too 😅 I dont care much that there are the scars but lore wise it dont make sense too, when we take Krem from DAI that he was biding his chest and that some baddies wanted to kill him and Iron bull defended him and lost his eye in the process. I think they were Tevinter too, whitch is funny, because veil guard is in Tevinter for the most part. I doubt that Thedas became more open, with their racism towards other races.. And as I read some comments from trans people, they will just play as the gender they identify as..
I can't wait for all this D.I.E. stuff to phase out in the next cycle of Games. We can already see a market trend for rejecting this sort of thing, so it's really just a matter of time. Be strong brothers and sisters.
Here's hoping, although these activists have already done massive amounts of damage to video games and media. The number of sequels and fandoms they have ruined is unfathomable.
We're at the peak of DEI shenanigans, so it should hopefully go downhill from here. Although, a new problem arose. Nintendo's lawsuit against PocketPair. This one lawsuit might legitimately kill gaming entirely.
Said it before and I'll say it again: Every character suddenly becomes less androgynous once the proportions aren't capped. Bobble heads and 0 diameter hips/shoulders do a good job at "erasing" gender. Huh, looks like everyone knows the "why" of Dragon Age's "customization" now.
Yeah, stuff like this is exactly why I can't even bring myself to associate with the LGBT community anymore and I'm a lesbian. It's ridiculous. You can't make a feminine character at all and thats bs
There's little difference between males and females in the game, but there's also barely any difference between humans/elves/qunari. Especially compared to older games/concept art. I don't think they are intentionally erasing gender, they're using one basic model with only minor changes for everything. Might be a budgeting choice or just laziness.
EFFIN SERIOUSLY ? I'm a GUY and my "chest size" is bigger than that "100% female chest size" XD Now is it time to say that *I* don't feel "represented" as I can't even make ME in game ? ;P And "top surgery scars" in a realm of *MAGIC* ? And what for? annoy a good amount of their ACTUAL customers just so that people who never buy video games anyway can say: "look! I'm "included" in that thing I'll never buy to begin with !" Looks like big companies nowadays no longer want to make money.
Their choice of inclusivity is “male body type, male body type with mammary glands, they/them pronouns, top scars incase male body type with mammary glands want their glands removed.”
Imagine you own a restaurant, ok? Your costumers love your dishes and mostly your homemade mayonnaise. But some other people (a really small amount) hate the mayonnaise recipe, because “it doesn’t have X ingredient and it’s very offensive because you didn’t add it”. Because of greed, you add that ingredient to the mayonnaise recipe (even if it’s just 20 people of the 10000 people they come to the restaurant). And now the 9980 complain about the new flavor. 1 month later, you are struggling to advertise your restaurant (even if you stopped to do the new recipe and started to use the classic recipe), all because you listened that 20 random customers. And funnily enough, only 1-2 of the random people who complained about the mayonnaise recipe, are still coming to your restaurant once per year.
Watch the inevitable mods that will "enhance the character creator" get banned on NexusMods and such as well. "More options is good, unless it's more options we don't like."
@@KatallinaVT which is stupid because women can't control what the "male gaze" is and what men choose to sexualize or not sexualize. It pisses me off as a woman (and I have a H-J range chest size) because the narrative with these people is always "we're being inclusive." I call bullshit. These people fetishize the act of transitioning, completely ignoring that real trans people don't transition because they think it's cool but because they want to look into the mirror without breaking inside.
Ngl this also seems (at least from my perspective) as if they were saying that trans women should look like a certain way and have an almost masculinized body, I'm aware women with masculine physical features exist but honestly this rubs me the wrong way.
You don't even have to go too far back, just look at dragon age inquisition. Amazing game and amazing character customization. Surely they didn't put the body sliders in the game but that's because they were not trying this woke crap. You could make beautiful characters.
The "Fortniteification" of Dragon Age The Veilguard is blatant. The cartoonish features, oversized heads and smooth coloration is far from the dark fantasy setting of the original. I was watching a video from a Dragon Age fan who couldn't care less about surgical scars and butt sliders, and she still had a lot of concerns about the design choices made from a lore perspective. If Bioware loses the DA lore groupies, they've lost their most fervent fans.
The cartoon style “could” work It’s just Jesus Christ anime is a hard style that has to emphasize and exaggerate features The features that veilguard chosen are so horrific and awful they look like goblins Which if this was to appeal to non binary demographics it just comes across as an insult to the human form I’ve done better work in my first year first drafts
I don't understand, why they don't just choose the gender they said they identifies as? they were born as men, identified as women, and became transwomen, and then, they play a game and play as.... also transwomen? ... why? Also that slider looked like it goes from -100% to 100% I assume you can make a female body with -100% chest from the get go Why would you need a surgery scar specifically for that The art style is indeed uncanny, there's a video that said the head was actually too big and cartoonish
Indeed. Trans people don't identiy as trans. They identiy as male, female or one of the non-binary versions. It just so happens that it's not the one they were born with. It's only those parasites that talk all about identifying as "trans" because they think it's cool or gives them internet points.

Savvy's awesome

Every normal person would call out the destruction of a serious that they beloved.
This is what you get to catering to weirdo’s that don’t even play video games, just make a normal game and I promise you’ll be fine.

Now is it time to say that *I* don't feel "represented" as I can't even make ME in game ? ;P
And "top surgery scars" in a realm of *MAGIC* ? And what for? annoy a good amount of their ACTUAL customers just so that people who never buy video games anyway can say:
"look! I'm "included" in that thing I'll never buy to begin with !" Looks like big companies nowadays no longer want to make money.
Anytime I see the media and Twitter praise a game I avoid it like the plague.
I avoid it also, like how I avoid anyone with they/them pronouns in their Discord Bio lmao
A huge red flag indeed. The funny thing even is, some or even most of those people doesn't even play the game or played games lol
@@Anugrah_Amriza why in the heck do discord profiles have a "pronouns" tab?
@@fivespy207because people have pronouns? im a girl she/her and i wouldn’t want anyone calling me a guy, he/him
Their choice of inclusivity is “male body type, male body type with mammary glands, they/them pronouns, top scars incase male body type with mammary glands want their glands removed.”
This is like watching a burning train traveling 2 miles an hour about to crash into a car 60 miles away.
I didn't know Hero Hei was in the flat is justice side
Flat is justice.
Medium is premium.
Oppai is truth.
Boobs are boobs.
We've gained a new ally
I'm so over it, I just want to escape this shitty world for a couple hours a night and this ain't doing it.
Dragon Pin: The Disgrace
Attractive women in video games are offensive these days, because feminist activists don't like being reminded of how unattractive they are.
Watch the inevitable mods that will "enhance the character creator" get banned on NexusMods and such as well. "More options is good, unless it's more options we don't like."
The objective is the discouragement of the male gaze. Yes, it's that stupid.
@@KatallinaVT which is stupid because women can't control what the "male gaze" is and what men choose to sexualize or not sexualize. It's so hypocritical on behalf of the devs to take this approach which is effectively telling women that just having a body that MIGHT be sexualized by someone at some point is the problem. It pisses me off as a woman (and I have a H-J range chest size) because the narrative with these people is always "we're being inclusive." I call bullshit. It's the virtue signaling and the complete refusal to listen to any constructive criticism that makes the whole thing insufferable.
So if we see everything sexual, they'll make games with robots with pronouns then
Yup
@@NaisanSama Well, it happened with Concord
When your child is stomping their feet and making a scene in the cereal isle of the grocery store, do your kid a favor and don't give into their tantrum. These people were never child reared properly
Woke SJWeirdos: "You can roll a trans character, complete with top surgery scars."
Us: "How about rolling a gender you 'identify' as. No matter how much you identify as the beautiful swan, aren't the scars a reminder that you were the ugly duckling?"
They identify as Evervictim McSpecialflower
It's a surprise bioware survived anthem but now they will be beyond dead..you know u fuced up when even women are mad
Inquisition already ruined the lore.
The cartoon style “could” work
It’s just Jesus Christ anime is a hard style that has to emphasize and exaggerate features
The features that veilguard chosen are so horrific and awful they look like goblins
Which if this was to appeal to non binary demographics it just comes across as an insult to the human form
I’ve done better work in my first year first drafts
Yeah it doesn't look good at all.
All these inclusivity people are not even gonna play the game to begin with. They are too busy complaining on twitter to do anything outside that.
Very real, they won't even buy
Oh they don't want to start getting actual women angry at them. They WILL take them down.
actual woman are getting mad lol
So basically Spanish woman body types aren’t represented in this game.
I don't understand, why they don't just choose the gender they said they identifies as?
they were born as men, identified as women, and became transwomen,
and then, they play a game and play as.... also transwomen? ... why?
Also that slider looked like it goes from -100% to 100%
I assume you can make a female body with -100% chest from the get go
Why would you need a surgery scar specifically for that
The art style is indeed uncanny, there's a video that said the head was actually too big and cartoonish
They will never become women. A woman is born, not made by surgeons with zero moral integrity.
Indeed. Trans people don't identiy as trans. They identiy as male, female or one of the non-binary versions. It just so happens that it's not the one they were born with. It's only those parasites that talk all about identifying as "trans" because they think it's cool or gives them internet points.
*_"Hey, I got an idea! How about we include the option to give your character 'top surgery scars' in this fantasy setting?"_*
*_"Brilliant idea! Let's put it in the game!"_*
Quadruple "A" company, by the way.
Replacing sexes with "body types", and having pronouns and scars as custom options that have no gameplay effect is a reject as it is a memory waste.
Pin, please.
Inclusion: Make every character as ugly as the people who tweet 20+ times everyday.
i'm very disappointed with the body sliders. i am an overweight woman w/ a big af ass and boobs, i always like my characters to be on the fatter side but no i guess not. this is the one MASSIVE gripe i have with the game right now and it's putting me off preording it at all. i have been a diehard fan since the origin days.
You know you're doing something wrong when even Kotaku criticizes your "inclusive" work.
Oh they do friendly fire now?
Finally, something good from them
these people complaining that it is not inclusive enough are not even going to actually play the game in the first place.
Craziest part
