- He recorded this piece six times, in 1919, 1920, 1923, 1931, 1933, and in 1954. This is the 1933 recording . I tend to like Cortot's 1930's recordings the most because he was more mature musically and still retained his technique.
Bravo, Cortot... The poet of the keyboard 👏
A fantastic showpiece!
Interesting take in the tarantella. I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite. But a unique Chopin piece.

At the moment, I don't find this piece very interesting (musically speaking). Seems like a lot of virtuosity and technicals difficulties
And why not? A tarantella is a straighforward and lively affair as well.
It seems with this piece people either love it or hate it!
@@engloute compared to some Mazurkas I love to listen to (Op. 17 no 2, 4) or Waltz, this piece feels very strange. But the point was just to share my feeling about it :-)
@@engloute by the way Cortot is a extraordinary pianist I love to hear playing
@@lube9036 Fair enough, I did the same:-) I am not exactly a Chopin conossieur so maybe some things are flying over my head. And I totally share your love for Cortot!
