Delightfully nostalgic. At that time I would have been happy mad about such models. They would have been the highlights of my collection. Today they are already outdated and there is much more spectacular dinosaur models. But they are beautiful today and I have to confess: here comes on a bit of melancholy, when I see these old characters. Great video and a very, very great dinosaur box.
I got them when I was about 6 (circa 1986). They were my plastic introduction into dinosaurs; then got the Playskool Definitely Dinosaurs, then Dino Riders.
I remember buying this box set for my nephews for Christmas when I was in college back in 1989. It cost twenty dollars from a Sears catalog. When I came back for summer break that year I was quite furious to find my sister had sold all of these dinos for ten cents a piece at her garage sale (and without my nephews knowledge).
I had several of these during the 1980s. I seem to remember also owning a Ichthyosaurus as well. These were really great sculpted figures for there time and prefer these over anything they have put out today.
Wow, this is a very nice set; I've never seen it before. When I was a kid, in the 80s and early 90s, there was a set of articulated, rubber dinosaurs that every kid had, including myself. They came in fantastic colors like blue, pink and purple; they were very similar in style to Rex and Trixie from Toy Story 3 and all of them had the imprint of a royal crown on their foot. The strange thing is, after hours of searching the web, I haven't even found so much as a single image of one and it's driving me crazy.
KlingonCaptain when I was a kid n the early 2000s there was a dino toy I loved that was a blue triceratops with a orc looking guy riding on it. It wasn't imaginext cuz t was too realistic. But I can't find it!!!!
5:20 - They're definitely not all in scale with each other. Even the measurements listed on the plastic don't scale up from one to another. The ones that really stood out to me is how tiny the stegosaurus is compared to the triceratops, and how huge the triceratops is compared to the mammoth. What's amazing is how I've been able to hold on to most of these in my 40 years. Parents got rid of 95% of my things. I definitely had the glyptodon and scolosaurus, but don't recall having the pteranodon and megalosaurus.
I remember getting three of those figures from a car boot sale when I was 5, I am a little too young to have bought these when they were new but I certainly remember owning some of the figures used.
Thank you for putting up this video. My grandmother got me this set of dinos when Jurassic Park came out. She passed in 2009, but this video brought back memories of her, and my self when I was a child. What a trip down memory lane, I can here the dinosaurs now. I am glad I stumbled over your video. Thank you again. By the way, do you have the poster of the box cover painting??
Hi Mike, what an amazing comment to receive. Stopped me in my tracks, so glad to hear this video has such a connection for you. I do have the poster - theres one for sale on ebay at the moment rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F153254439917 I hope it brings many more memories of your Grandmother and thanks again - means a lot to hear that
Wow, I have this set, or at least I had it, it is still back home in the UK at my Mum's place in my old bedroom, as I now live in Canada I guess I am not likely to be retrieving it any time soon as the set weighs a ton, so I won't get it sent to me!! Have to wait til I get back for a visit!!
I had the T-Rex and the Diplodocus. Chewed the tails on them haha. These were sculpted by Arthur Hayward and based on the depictions by Charles R. Knight, I believe.
When I was a kid Weetabix had a competition to win invicta dinsoaurs, 1st prize was tickets for museum and large boxed set (in Weetabix livery), 2nd prize was for 3 winners of just the large box set , and the runners up got a single dinosaur (cant remember how many runners up) , I still have them mint in the box, let me know if you would like to see it, the range of dinosaurs differ from this boxed set.
I don't like how they use to interpret dinosaurs and other extinct genera but I'll always remember the toys as the best toys ever! (Can't beat kenner's though!)
OMG I have that Green brachiosaurus!! I didn't know where it came from-I Live in the US but I'm sure I'd never had that complete set. I still have it from when I was little kid :D
The first that I got I got for Christmas and it was really cool and I played with them for many years the second set I got a place called Dinosaur World Virginia I don't know if it exists anymore and I used all these dinosaurs when I used to teach Dinosaurs the kids when my father would teach to kids my old grade school and then a friend of mine wanted the same thing so I did it there
"Iggy you ana don" i've never heard it said like that before unless i misheard lol but interesting way to say it :0 and diplodocus is my favourite sauropod tbh
i still have the brachiosaurus toy, sad story of the plesiosaur is that when i was a kid i took it with me to blackpool and we sat down for a bite to eat, we got up went back to the car and then i suddenly remembered i had left my toy on the bench, i cried for hours...but then i thought that it came alive and was terrorising the locals at the beach...still waiting to hear the news reports lol
I still have 85% of mine from the 80's. My very first dinosaurs before the Playskool Definitely Dinosaurs and Dino Riders. Just to point out, _by no means_ are these all in scale. I mean, that's pretty obvious lol.
I have the stegosaurus, tyrannosaurus, liopluerodon, glyptodon, scelidosaurus, cetiosaurus, triceratops, mamencisaurus, diplodocus, pteranodon, iguanodon, megalosaurus, muttaburrasaurus, baryonyx, plesiosaurus, and the apatosaurus. ( some of these are not in the box set )
The Glyptodon and the Whoolly mamuth live long after the dinosaurs where gone. And The different dinosaurs also live in different eras from one another, for axample the t-rex lived long after the diplodocus!
Have you ever considered to get any of actual fossils for your collection? I have an huge mammoth tooth in my room wich i got from cousin who works at gravel pits.He has few other bones of prehistoric animals.Once he found an giant tooth of meat eater animal, probably smilodon.

OMG HI!!!!!
@@CamarasaurusLover15346 Hi
I had these in the 1980s and they were from the 1970s. Epic!

they may be outdated but they will always have a place in our hearts...reminds us of how we started and where we are and also childhood memories
So happy to have recently found one of these
I remember buying this box set for my nephews for Christmas when I was in college back in 1989. It cost twenty dollars from a Sears catalog. When I came back for summer break that year I was quite furious to find my sister had sold all of these dinos for ten cents a piece at her garage sale (and without my nephews knowledge).
Ah that must have been so frustrating! Your poor nephews. But a kind gift
Meant to also say, cool to see you reviewing it. It was great in it's day, but doesn't compare to the Papo stuff!!
I had several of these during the 1980s. I seem to remember also owning a Ichthyosaurus as well. These were really great sculpted figures for there time and prefer these over anything they have put out today.
Childhood revisited! I loved the Brachiosaur, and had the vast majority of them.
The mammoth , glyptodon and the plesiosaur looked awesome
That is so cool man I wish I had that set

The plesiosaur is aquadynamic not aerodynamic. They were an aquatic reptile and couldn't fly.
Johnny G. i think the word your looking for is hydrodynamic
When you put aero and hydrodynamic Its the same thing in water
Thanks- I wasn't really interested in invictas and knew nothing about them back then, but now I want them all :).
Thanks for this great video- I would love to have a full set

@@JurassicCollectables YOUR ONE OF MY FAVORITE UA-camRS
Same bro, I just turned 13
Why does this video have so many dislikes?
No, but they did release a Stenonychosaurus (in a much larger scale) - this dinosaur is now called Troodon.
This was one of my first vids I saw from your channel 😁
I bought my Tyrannosaurus rex figure from a car boot sale today and I love it
R.I.P invicta
1973 - 1993
You will be missed.
i have the wolly mamoth meglasoures the stegasoures and the pheranodon
Nostalgia overload!
I wonder if Spinosaurus and Velociraptor were well known at the time this set came out, they might have been included themselves. :)
love that retro look..:-)
I think they forgot about ankylosaurus
I got the glyptodon and the scelidosaurus today!!!
i still have the brachiosaurus toy, sad story of the plesiosaur is that when i was a kid i took it with me to blackpool and we sat down for a bite to eat, we got up went back to the car and then i suddenly remembered i had left my toy on the bench, i cried for hours...but then i thought that it came alive and was terrorising the locals at the beach...still waiting to hear the news reports lol
Oh no! That is so sad!
I just got my plesiosaur!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Stegosaurus was actually bigger! I have the Kleinwelka Stego to replace the invicta version.
I actually only need 7 more of these

And also when are you doing individual reviews of these guys I would love to see them also I’ve got the megalosaurus and he’s super cool
I still have 85% of mine from the 80's. My very first dinosaurs before the Playskool Definitely Dinosaurs and Dino Riders. Just to point out, _by no means_ are these all in scale. I mean, that's pretty obvious lol.

The brachiosaurus is my favorite in the collection
The Glyptodon and the Whoolly mamuth live long after the dinosaurs where gone. And The different dinosaurs also live in different eras from one another, for axample the t-rex lived long after the diplodocus!
I have the muttaburrasaurus cetiosaurus from eBay and I also have the painted brontosaurus I got from a garage sale for $5 when I was 12 no joke
I do want the red T-rex😀.
IK these models are very unrealistic, compared to what we know now about them, but I really love The way they are so... Brilliantly old fashioned
Have you ever considered to get any of actual fossils for your collection? I have an huge mammoth tooth in my room wich i got from cousin who works at gravel pits.He has few other bones of prehistoric animals.Once he found an giant tooth of meat eater animal, probably smilodon.
I have the plesiosaurus, liopluerodon, cetiosaurus, stegosaurus and the iguanadon.

4:59: Is it me, or does the red T-rex remind me of the Red Ranger's Dinozord in Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers?
Glyptodont did not live with Dinosaurs, it lived during the ice age.
how did he get them
