I guess Florida's many flaws have you seeing things a bit differently! Your right its not all sunshine and smiles like it used to be. Florida has changed a lot, and many retirees are choosing alternative states. Maybe I should host a beachside ranking party to get everyone’s input!
Absolutely, happiness is the key to a fulfilling retirement! It's all about finding that perfect spot that brings you joy. Thanks for watching and commenting here on this channel. See you in the following video.
It seems that the focus here is low cost of living. I put safety, world-class healthcare, educational attainment and a strong international airport higher in retirement destinations.
We are in our 60s & retired to SC several years ago. We like MB area, especially Murrells Inlet, but bought a home in York County SC, 20 miles from Charlotte. We get a great property tax break & no state tax on our SSI & 401K, & no tax on groceries.. we are 2 hours from the beautiful mountains & 3 from the beach. Also, not a lot of bugs & mosquitos in the Piedmont, unlike the coast..
That is true! Arizona has fallen off some lists due to so many people who have moved to AZ. Rising costs, mor population brings congestion and other issues. Its still a great place though. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thank you for your feedback! I appreciate your perspective. This video is about areas to consider; I have other videos here on this channel that go further into depth comparing different cities and towns. I always recommend that once you find several areas that are in your personal preferences, you do full research on those areas because one video or a Google search will not answer all the questions about any particular area. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. See you in the next video.
Nice content❗️😎 I’ve been researching the NE & SE areas of Kentucky, Mainly Maysville, Morehead & a couple others; 😳Based on the Beginning of your Video - kind of Shocked Fla made it AND even More so,, that Kentucky DIDN’t make it/ most of all, my research Favors Ky over Tenn, I have looked at Kingsport, Johnston, Jonesboro/Jonesborough, Bristol, Maryville, Dandridge; Also Best of West Ga, West S.C. (ALL of Cities mentioned, Lake or River views or short walk or drive, as well as Trauma 1 or 2 LESS than 30 minutes…😎🙃🙃😎
There are many Americans that are looking at Europe and parts of Asia for retirement. Better quality of life, healthcare, healthier food and affordability.
You make a solid case! Who wouldn’t want to retire with a side of croissants in France or sushi in Japan? Just remember to pack your sunscreen and a good pair of walking shoes for all that exploring!
While as a soon to be retiree, I appreciate your input, as a wife and mom, I take issue with some of your state choices in regard to women’s healthcare needs, and availability, especially Texas, and Georgia. You may think it does not apply to women of retirement age, but it does, especially when we consider our precious female family members nearby and how it impacts them as well. Please consider doing a show about states to retire in where women’s healthcare is a priority and is available. Thank you.
We are going to be snowbirds in Florida soon. We will just buy a mobile home in a senior community so we will have some security and lawn mowed when we are gone. We will always spend summers in Alaska.
That sounds like a wonderful plan! Florida in the winter and Alaska in the summer-what a perfect way to enjoy both warmth and nature's beauty! Many people are no longer buying in Florida, but are renting a place in the winter months and claiming residence in another state for the rest of the year. They are winning on both sides. Thanks for sharing your story here on this channel.
@ I’ve thought of renting and buying a vehicle that we can store down there with some of our belongings in the summer and fly down and rent in the winter. If we leave Alaska for more than 180 days a year we lose residency benefits. These include a $258k tax exemption on our primary residence, free hunting, fishing and trapping license, vehicles over six years old free registration and of course the PDF which was about $1700 per person this year.
Nice video. I live in Florida, not sure I would have ranked it that high.

Interesting video. Seems a bit thin on quality of life, particularly crime stats.

What about Missouri Jerry man! Southern Missouri West to East! St Louis, KC no good
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Missouri has so much to offer, and it’s always interesting to hear different perspectives on the cities.

Are you talking about Abortions?
So your offspring never heard of birth control? That shows poor parenting.
One crucial issue not mentioned : the crime rate !!!
True
Yeah, and can carry guns around like the Wild West
And sales tax is high
Texas has very high property taxes not good for retirement

I’d leave us as a whole if i wanted to retire.
Bloomingfield? You must mean Bloomington, home of Indiana University.
