Grammy Award-winning Christian singer Mandisa died on Thursday April 18th, at her home in Nashville, Tennessee. She was 47 years old.
Her cause of death is unknown.
The singer got her start on American Idol before launching a solo singing career as a Christian artist.

@@truthseeker5941 well I am as white as a ghost but color has never mattered to me. She was a sweet sweet spirit and had a beautiful soul. We could all learn about humility and love from her songs and spoken words. I will miss her on this earth but I will see her again, rejoicing.

However, when I listen to her music she struggled with racial issues like in her song we all bleed red and the other things she said in interviews and videos. I am not white as a ghost but honey brown, and it is not easy being so in America. People are just racially sick in this world. As Mandisa said we all bleed red, and as I am saying we all will be gone one day and totally in spirit. God looks upon our hearts and deeds and that is how a person should be measured. I am so sorry any person of any race has created a chasm in our country. This father is an Overcomer!!! His honesty made my heart break and sing at the same time. I am white. In the 80s my aunt married a black man. My uncle Larry and I have each other now that most have gone to The King. I never noticed his color until I called out to him… Uncle Larry… in public. Someone had a comment. I simply responded… I’m white????????

May God rest her soul. It is heartbreaking that she is experienced the depression which led her to gain the weight back. But lets not forget what she said. " She was battling spiritual warfare" Let us not forget what we are fighting against as believers.
Such a positive influence to many! So her lifting up so many people and realizing her weakness and staying vulnerable makes me so sad like it’s for everyone but not herself!

Hurts to watch this video of her...she was very special I can tell. I can relate to alote of this. She was still so young 💔. She had much wisdom, I hope whoever is going threw battles realizes life can be hard but God is always here with us. And helps us to overcome any situation! My cousin had this surgery and had complications, two years ago she was found dead in her home. Rest in peace to both of them!
One of my besties had the surgery and he passed last year. 😢 It did something bad to his heart.
I knew a high school senior who had that surgery. On the same day he was discharged to go home he died in his sleep that night. 😢

@@sl4983 I don't know but in listening to her words it seemed to have been some time ago when she had lost the weight. I believe she said she had the surgery, lost the weight but gained it back. Either way it is so sad. I know a widow who started pastoring a church in place of her husband because he actually died on the operating table having a gastric bypass surgery. Many of us didn't understand why he was having it because he wasn't what was considered dangerously overweight but I was told he wasn't happy with his weight. He wife is very petite. I have a friend whose husband wasn't happy about the weight she gained over the years & in order to please him she had the surgery & ended up in a coma many months. Many people prayed for her & we thank God that she came out of it but it's sad that her husband was the reason she went through that. I am divorced & I weigh a normal weight for my height but my ex-husband told me when I was just 120lbs on active duty in the army saying, "I'll divorce u if u ever get fat." I told him if u married me for my size then divorce me NOW because I take care of my health & body for ME, not you! Long story short I divorced HIM & I'm living happily ever after in good health now 63 but guys in 30's still trying to flirt. If I didn't have self esteem & respect & love for my own self which my parents instilled in me there's no telling years of marriage would have been like with someone who thinks that way & meant what he said to me. I worked with a fellow soldier who divorced her husband & the father of her daughter. I was shocked when she said he gained to much weight & she no longer desired him. She remarried a man who was very slim & younger than her but was mean to her daughter, unbelievable. People can be so cruel & it's no telling how much Mandisa may have had to deal with from uncaring people. Even Simon on American idol joked about her weight & it hurt her but she publicly forgave him from her loving heart 💖, then he gave her a big hug.
She encouraged us while struggling with discouragement, anxiety and low self-worth. She sang to us while still overcoming. OMG! Mandisa dear, so glad you're resting in God's bosom now. 🙏🙏

RIP to this beautiful soul❣️Society has overpowered us with the outer appearance to make us think we should look a certain way. If being overweight is the true issue then lose the weight in healthy gradual ways. I’m not for weight loss surgery because of the side effects that may surface later on. Quick fixes, especially when it comes to our health is not a healthy choice. I feel her pain with her issues and just wish she had gotten therapy and chosen a different path for weight loss. 🙏🏽💕

Questions:
When did she have gastric bypass surgery?
Was she on pain medication?
Did she fall as a result of dehydration and or syncope (dizzy spell) Orthostatic hypotension?
Did she fall and hit her head causing a brain bleed, coma and death?
Did she have a stroke? Related to blood clot? Brain bleed? There are five types of stroke.
Did she have a cardiac event or respiratory failure?
Did she fall and cause a rupture to her surgical site resulting in irreversible blood loss?
Lots of reasons why this may have occurred. Jumping to conclusions when we are not a professional Medical Examiner helps no one.
Gastric bypass surgeries vary and they are just one tool of many for people struggling with health issues and obesity. Mandisa was loved by her fans, family and most importantly, God. Whatever the reason, she is where she belongs, in the arms of her Lord and Savior.

With hormonal imbalance like perimenopause & even diabetes (which I have) I suffer with anxiety. It’s not easy, esp when you get hit with panic attacks out of nowhere. When the estrogen and progesterone fluctuates, these anxiety hits our body. I also suffer with dysautonomia and CFS. Those things cause nerve damage and creating anxiety. I wonder if Mandisa suffered with any of these things, I know her dad said she was struggling with Covid around the time she passed away and I got all my condition except for diabetes from Covid infection. She was certainly a beautiful soul and will be definitely missed.
Her father at the funeral kinda of iluded that Mandisa may have tripped and fell or colapsed because she had recently gotten over Covid. I pray the medical examiner can explain her death. I believe she had a heart attack or sudden death syndrome as explained by Dr G. And as they also said at the funeral, it doesn't matter how one dies, it matters most how one lives and the lives the touch. Rest in Peace Mandisa RIP continue to be the Champion for us who are left here to live so we too can see you and Jesus when our life is over.

And my obsession with my weight, has to do with “ internal” issues. Although, the weight itself, is a medical one. The two combined, makes for an interesting storm (mine alone & God’s to work through).
That does NOT negate; the necessity of intervention for Obese Pt’s whose LIFE is on the “line,” due to ANY host of conditions, through NO FAULT of their own. I sincerely hope, you are not in the Health Industry.

❤ The procedure wouldn’t be the Red Flag here. WHAT they are purposely putting IN the food, to MAKE people overweight/Obese, would be the Red Flag ….. BEFORE Gastric bypass surgery, “ever” would be. A HUGE example; our government starting putting FLUORIDE in our water supply back in the 50’s, to make our population GAIN Weight. Although, once they gained weight ….. they did NOT stop putting it into the supply. Instead, the then began to ADD it to our “Produce.” And now it has been added to a few more things.

Girl I wish I could tell her those knots in her neck are those heavy braids hands down! I braided my hiar with human hair a few years ago and i kept having neck pain after about a month in them in. I noticed the moment I took the hair out my neck popped back in 3 places! I was like well I'm not doing that hair style ever again lol the pain is no joke so now i just do twists.
One of my friends got this surgery and lived 10 more years.

@cherylwilliams4738 they haven't announced it yet. Many people are speculating that she took her own life. I really don't feel that's the case. They said there were no signs of fowl play, and they were running a tox report. So sad! She was such a beautiful authentic soul.
