      Rockingman... you could add "elegant" [interviews] because they had style and practiced respect.
      To Gatto: I see your point and in my view I wouldn't describe him with those adjectives (however true they might be) but instead, I think that Cavett shows his intentions to conceal (and shield) his insecurities with all the comments and projections (on his interviewees)... but - this is where we differ - I do believe that we all tend to do that, some people do it more than others at times...

    • @ROCKINGMAN
      @ROCKINGMAN 4 роки тому +3

      @Gatto Di Ossa I'm glad you're paying attention to the comments I made. I meant 'interviewees' The comments were made about the guests. But, as Cavatt goes, despite negative opinions, pretentions, pedantic etc., I don't mind him and can tolerate him. The most annoying interviewers, for me, are ones that do most of the talking, keep interupting their guests. No, I like Cavatt. I've never liked that word pedantic...just makes me cringe when I hear it. Reminds me of someone I wasn't that keen on who always used it.

    He said they can be physically beautiful but "nothing is there". That's exactly the problem with most exceptionally attractive people. You look for the person within the flesh and see egocentrism, materialism, superficiality, pettiness, arrogance, lack of education, etc. It's almost like a universal balance is being made: The more exceptionally attractive a person is the more these bad qualities will offset that advantage. Exceptions aside.

      had a think about it n all i can come up w is that we are less classy ppl today. you even used the words no class. maybe marx was right - rampant unrestrained capitalism leads to walmarts n bangladesh made everything, we've become cheap, lazy, weak, instagram ppl.

      DC always directs the attention to himself if you watch his interviews.His false modesty and large ego shine through in all his interviews.

      I find dick to be a terrible host. he regularly loses composure, his jokes almost always fall flat, and his interviews with black people are so cringe and shows what an establishment racist he is

      These days the late night hosts aren’t airing for great interviews.... it’s to push their political agendas which I find extremely boring and ridiculous
      Don’t even watch television anymore go that very reason ..... only TCM if I’m bored at a hotel

      @spirittebellious/ well it's because people now have lost their minds for some reason and are semi literate to boot. You can't tell if they're batshit crazy or simply stupid.

    Good God, did this woman flip the classroom here. On the other hand, I can't make up my mind if this was just an incredible performance on Sophia's part, and that she wasn't actually angling for Dick (no pun intended).

    I have yet to see a interview with Sophia Loren, in which the host wasn’t nervous. Totally understandable...
