I'm a 6 time ex con in Texas. Changed my life 9 yrs sober, completely reformed criminal. In Texas we are allowed commissary twice a month in segregation, SHU. And only a $60.00 spin. I always busted a 60, plus I'd sell my artwork. My 2 lockers always full. 2 boxes hot ramen, 4 bags coffee, 2 cheap coffee, roast beef 3 packs, 8 tuna cans, 5 bag chips, 2 peanut butter etc etc prices were cheaper when I got out in 2013. Now I eat pizza, steak, Chinese, mexican, cheeseburgers etc change your life bro the women out here are BEAUTIFUL

I am generally curious as to why the only protein in these prison videos seems to be mackerel and summer sausage?
Summer sausage is a multi use meat in there one key reason is that it doesn't spoil fast , mackerel,tuna and sardines provides nutrients and protein for people that want to stay healthy who don't always eat the state trays

My favorite thing in jail was what we called a wrap. It had crushed Cheetos, crushed ramen, crushed hot weenie,crushed pickle, pickle juice, cheez its, hot sausage, and cheese. Bussin’!

I send my homeboy 250 every month except every fourth month I send him 500 I've looked out for him for 16 years now. When he first fell I would send 100 a month. I often wonder if I'm sending him enough to be comfortable. Maybe someone in the system can let me know. He will probably never get out and as long as I'm alive he will have that coming.
He is a good dude one of the best men I've ever known it's a damn shame he is spending his life in a prison cell. And before it is even asked yes he killed another man if you want to call the POS a man. No need to go into details but he had a killing coming. My friend's mistake was thinking being honest with the cops would help him. Like he has said many times he should have never said a word. I lived real good on $200 in the state and $250 in the Feds paying for calls. I have a friend just got out finishing a 30 in the feds and I looked out for him about 10 of that. Knew his family in the world and met him in there. He is out doing real good and I am proud of him. You are a good person for real for real to look out for your friend like that. So many people get forgotten about in there. Especially when they are doing real time. Good karma comes back
Not gone lie for $115 that’s not bad at all. I know where I’m from that’s at least $40 for those chips. Beef sticks like $4-6 each. I always thought they taxedbyall like crazy on commissary

All of that commissary is different from what was in the feds when I was there. All of it was different. We used to have regular tuna, and then we had redfin tuna packs. Then we had pack of chicken and herbs. Summer sausage looks the same. Also the dried beans and rice was different and it was amazing. I used to max out my commissary. We was only allowed to spend $300 a month and I spent the full 300 every month. I smoked newports the entire time I was there too and that was kinda expensive. They were $5 per Newport when I first got there,then they went up to $10 per Newport. I'd bring 1 Newport down and get 3 rollups out of it lol. Worked out perfect because theyre smaller,less smoke. Go to the showers ,hurry up and take a quick smoke break right after count time because u know they ain't coming back til next count. They did a 10am count, 4pm count,10pm count,then shift change a little later I think around midnight . I used to get stoned and just stare at the ceiling,pitch black in there, it was the only freedom. Worst part of prison was having dreams I was at home laying on the couch with my girlfriend. Then I'd wake up realizing I'm still in this bitch,depressed as fuck. I gained 80 lbs in 1 year in there. Everyone in there was worried about me gaining weight so quick, they could tell I was eating out of depression. I still worked out everyday too,but I ate non stop in there

Those refried beans are great just to snack on dry especially the spicy ones. They aren’t spicy at all but they’re seasoned well enough and they make a nice crunchy snack and if you eat them dry like I did they expand in your stomach and keep you fuller for a longer amount of time. I’d call it an essential with the Raman. I ate so much locked up I gained almost 60 lbs in about 3 months easy. Some of the best laughs I had was when I was locked up but it’s only a blast if you don’t have a woman to worry about on the outside

In Texas we don’t really have a name brands in prison there might be a few in small amounts, but not a big bag
