    since my chem teacher has been away for basically the entire term, we have had to teach ourselves. this video is so great, and I was also watching your others on acids and bases and they were awesome too. this has really helped me understand 😁thanks! -greetings from Australia

    This really helped, just as a side note, in the third line, where the reactants are it should have been HPO42-, nonetheless, thank you

    prof how are you doing , for calculating the ph. which pka do we use

    • @OldSchoolChemistry
      @OldSchoolChemistry  2 місяці тому

      Use pka1 because is so much larger than the subsequent pka values. Excellent question! Thank you and good job working so hard!

    Just wondering, at Ka3 why is the reactant on hydrogen phosphate not 2- charged, but it is on Ka2 product?

    • @OldSchoolChemistry

      Hi Poe, you caught a mistake on my part - thank you! You are correct the hydrogen phosphate has a 2- charge. Well done:)

    Thx a lot ,but what’s the reason behind Ka1>Ka2>Ka3 with respect to the electrostatic and statical force ?

    • @OldSchoolChemistry
      @OldSchoolChemistry  Рік тому

      Hi Ali, with each successive deprotonation the Ka is smaller and more reactant favored. I hope that helps! Thanks:)
