    This review was sooo helpful. Really appreciate you putting each product through real-world testing and setups. The water proof aspect of the Neso really helped me make up my mind, you never know when there will be a brief shower and if I use the tarp as a gear cover it looks like the Sun Ninja and Ziggy Shade will just let the water right through. I'm getting the Grande though, don't need that Gigante size. Thanks for your work!

    Another great review! We just used our Gigante this past weekend down in South Fla. I definitely recommend burying those sand bags! only takes a few minutes and makes a huge difference. Also suggest if you buy this tent, invest in 2 more poles! They only ship with the two. BTW.... Do you have any cart suggestions for beach access paths that have stairs?

      @@ARCEYE78 There's nothing like a Suniela - we use high quality materials that last for many years of beach use. Our original prototypes have been in use for twenty years 🤗 It costs a little extra to offer large mesh pockets and a canopy that slides to either side for high or low sun, but our happy customers see the value. We also produce ethically, working with artisan makers and using hand dyed cotton canopies instead of cheap nylon. But our biggest selling feature: nothing stands up to the wind like a Suniela 💪We could make it for a little less, but we refuse to make something that will end up in the trash after one summer.

      I am finally buying either the Giganto or the Grande this week.
      I need advice.
      My primary use will be for camping down the beach in my SUV ( Padre island National Sea Shore allows 4x4 driving and camping).
      I will be alone on most trips and down the beach for isolation.
      The sun gets to be too much. I will need it to cover a chair, side table and Wekapo lounger ( at your suggestion).
      Will i be happer with a Grande or Giganto?
      Any suggestions will be appreciated!

    • @BeachGearGuy
      @BeachGearGuy  2 роки тому +1

      I think you will be happier under the Neso Grande. It's 9' x 9', so that should be big enough for your chair, side table, and Wekapo lounger. (Please let me know what you think of the Wekapo once you use it!) Also, I know it gets windy around the Padre Island National Seashore, and the Grande does a better job holding up against the wind.

    • @michaelreed649
      @michaelreed649 2 роки тому

      @@BeachGearGuy Thank you for your advice.
      I had not thought of the fact that a larger surface would be a larger sail and more difficult in the wind. It almost always has a breeze of 10 to 20 miles an hour, so between you saying the Grade should be plenty big and telling me that the Gigante will blow in the wind more, I am sold. I will be buying from REI so I can return it at any time for a year.
      Last Neso question.
      I will be buying extra poles. Do you think buying the Giganto poles would make sense for higher head height (I am almost as tall as you at 6'4") or will the grande be fine?
      I will let you know about the Wekapo both when I test it in the backyard and (more importantly) when I use it on the beach. I am curious to see how many times I will need to refill the air on a 5-day camping adventure.
      Thanks again for all of the information and help.
      Have a blessed week!

      Thanks for your suggestion! I've used a beach shade similar to the Osoeri Beach Tent, and I didn't care for it. It took longer to set up, and the anchor bags would sometimes move when the wind picked up. It's better to have a canopy beach tent with four big anchor bags than eight smaller ones.

    I just spent a week in Hilton Head and saw a bunch of Shibumi Shade canopies. We had some high wind and everyone had to take their umbrellas and canopies down, but the Shibumi thrived in the wind. I just can’t get over the price tag. I’d be curious to get your take on it.

      You're not going to believe this, but I used the Shibumi Shade on three different days this past week. It actually should be my next review video on this channel. I'm with you on the price tag. $250 bucks! Yikes!

      @@BeachGearGuy I set up next to the same family all week that had one. It went up so easy and even when the wind was down to single digits it was staying up. I bought the sportbrella xl after watching your video. I was a little jealous of the Shibumi though, I’m not gonna lie. For what it is, it should be $100-150.

    • @BeachGearGuy
      @BeachGearGuy  3 роки тому +1

      I agree. The Shibumi looks cool...I'm finding it to be a little bit noisy though when I'm sitting under it. The Sport-Brella XL isn't as exciting to look at, but it does offer better sun protection. I agree with you on the price range as well. I appreciate the fact that it's sewn in America, but $100-150 would be more reasonable.

      @@BeachGearGuy I just stumbled on a competitor for the Shibumi on Amazon and it’s at a much better price point. They started it at $150, but just bumped it to $175. It uses two poles instead of one solid. It also has rear poles for days without wind. You may need to do a side by side of them for us!

      WOW! Good job! Thanks for finding that beach shade and sending me the info! My dad and I were sitting under the Shibumi yesterday and the wind stopped, and of course, the sun shade slowly collapsed on us as we sat on our beach chairs. We were thinking it would be cool if there was another pole to keep the back up when the wind stopped...and there it is, offered with a competitors product...at a more reasonable price. I'm working on the Shibumi video now but I'm definitely going to have to check out this Beach Shade...perhaps make a comparison video later this summer. Thanks again!

      @BeachGearGuy  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for commenting! I've read that on their website. Perhaps setting up a canopy beach tent in that order may make more sense on a calm day at the beach. I just set up my new, black Neso Grande yesterday in 25 mile per hour winds and it went up without a hitch. I made my X shape on the beach, filled up the bags, buried the front bags in the sand and then raised up the poles. It was fantastic!

    • @dashnja.9202
      @dashnja.9202 2 роки тому +1

      @@BeachGearGuy They are fantastic. Neso told me me that puts less tension on the rods so they don't break. I wonder if on a windy day a combo of both would hold her down and release the tension on the rods when they are all buried.
      They smaller Nesos we have are easier for sure. The Gigante is a huge and takes some finesse in the wind! 😁

    • @BeachGearGuy
      @BeachGearGuy  2 роки тому +1

      @@dashnja.9202 Yes! The Gigante beach tent is really in a class of it's own and requires more set up time on a windy day. I actually think the Gigante poles need to be made stronger. Between the two, I find that the Neso Grande is more manageable (and more enjoyable) on a windy day.

      Sorry to hear that. The sandbags need to be completely loaded with sand and stretched out, so there's a lot of tension. The Gigante should work in moderate winds if the poles don't snap.
