  • Bonjour !
I hope you're all well and progressing as much as you want. In this video, we're talking about how to make the most out of #Netflix to improve your #Arabic listening, especially dialects.
A little question for you all at the end of the video. Grateful if you could answer ^.^

Thanks you for this video ! This is a great idea to make arabic contents for learners. To me, contents about how to master arabic verbs system will be so helpful !

Thank you for your feedback. It looks like a lot of learners struggle with verb forms. Could you expand a bit, if you don't mind? What aspects do you find challenging? You haven't found proper teaching resources?

Thanks for this interesting list. I like the fact that you provided different genres. I am not a big fan of American style shows. I may try Takki and Excellence. Im into Asian shows and ety to watch with Arabic subtitles (not always a success mind u 😅). But it does help. However, I know it is important to also listen to more natural speech. So definitely going to check out yr reco. Thanks for all the tips!

That's great. As I said in the video, it's also good to choose things you already enjoy (and know well) to drill your skills, either reading speed or listening if you manage to find a dubbed version :) All the best in your endeavour!

Great suggestions. Thank you. I had already watched Finding Ola and The Exchange and enjoyed them. There are so many fascinating dramas that give great insight into the cultures. Lots i choose not to watch after 5 minutes))
I enjoyed another Kuwaiti show…“I have a Script “ Once you have found a few then Netflix just suggests more and more.
Definitely helps listening skills and non msa chat words…especially with dubbed American teen series…not as challenging))

Thank you for your comment Talei. I'm glad you found dramas you enjoy. Watching dubbed versions of series you've aready watched is definitely a plus too. Thank you for adding new titles to the list - I'm sure it'll help some learners too!

Just wondering if anyone has suggestions for shows on platforms that aren’t netflix? Like any shows on UA-cam?

    • @nofridaynightplans
      @nofridaynightplans  2 місяці тому

That's a very good question. Takki used to be on UA-cam only. You can still find a lot of episodes of Masaamir by Myrkott (name of the channel) on UA-cam.
If you type "Arabic drama" in the research tab, you'll also find quite a few things. Not to mention the many anime dubbed in MSA.

What would be your answer to the question? What are the things you struggle with (if any, of course)? What would you like to find that you can't find with other creators/teachers?

@@nofridaynightplans I do not know why my comment keeps on getting deleted. Let's see if this one goes through UA-cam filters.

Final attempt to post the comment. I have removed the external facebook link and saved the comment this time. 😛
For me personally, it would be to know the struggles you have gone through, stuff that has motivated you (e.g. background, childhood), how you have managed your time. I guess you have a video about it. 🤔
To be frank, language learning is not for everybody and it takes an awful amount of time, focus, repetation, dedication, saying No to other plans, not being discouraged by failures. It motivates me to see the stuggles of people (and the torture sessions they have gone through) and the fact that they have made it out finally. 🎉🎊
