- Finishing off assembly of this old Lister engine, fault finding and first attempt at starting the ol' gal!
Restoration of a 1926, Spec' A16 Lister A type Junior stationary engine of 3hp at 600rpm.
I like the colour and the polished bolts, it stands out
Hi , Phil , My restoration of the same engine is going so well and i am a very lucky man , I purchased one from a friend for £40 totally complete nothing missing but it looked awful, upon stripping it down everything was mechanically perfect and well covered in oil and free , perfect bore perfect piston and rings and it came with the original starting handle , Just a strip of the rust and a nice coat of mid brunswick green and hopefully mine will look as good as yours , need to make a nice trolley and now have some nice cast iron wheels , look forward to my first start , Well done on your vids they have helped me loads , Alan
Super nice job on the engine. Another great one for your collection.
Brilliant! and what a result eh? great looks and runs like a swiss watch. 15 degrees BTDC certainly seems to be a win win setting. Might try mine at that setting one of the days.
Give yourself a Pat on the back for a job well done. She looks fab.
Definitely a video worth waiting for..lol
Fantastinc job sir! Sounds great.. I could listen to those old engines all day long! Thanks for keeping the history alive!
been waiting for ages to fianaly see it start
Wow! That was worth waiting for! Well chuffed you should be, Phill it is a work of art. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Jim.
I wouldn't say that lol, but I'm glad you like it - many thanks.
Many thanks for the very informative and useful series of shorts on the Lister, they will come in extremely useful when I restore a hopperless type I have just acquired.
Very nice tidy engine and sounds good a great video
Great job. Looking and sounding a treat. Watched this restoration all the way through, very interesting and a great result.
Condensers are at the top of these magnetos if I remember right. Along side the coil.
Lovely engine Phill. Makes me want a Lister A lol
Brilliant job Phii, you have done a good job in the restoration of that early Lister. I havnt seen many hopper cooled Listers like that, handy for rallys as you dont have to set up a tank for cooling. It runs really well and its a credit to your skills. Great vid too, cheers, Ian
Very well done young man..
Thanks Dan, yes you are correct.
What a great job!
Well done, I have enjoyed watching these videos bring it all together - great job!
