Love the chap coming up in the middle of the interview LOL!! Shows it's all live. The fun you chaps have match fishing really comes through in these videos, good or bad days the friendship and enjoyment of being fishing shines through. Thanks for sharing it through these videos chaps.

Great video showing a real match that is hard for everyone. Love the usual bank humour between Paul and Chappy.

Fantastic proper fishing will watch later. Beats all these commercial puddle chucking F1 bore fest videos that are taking over UA-cam at the moment. Natural venues any day of the week for me cheers 👍🏻🎣

Spot on Mark. Catching fish that have already been caught twice that week holds no appeal for me. Natural venues every time.

OMG, when 'proper fishing' means a pound of fish in five hours it makes wonder what is proper fishing?

@@stevensmith8454 the great thing about fishing is that it means something different to everyone. I think the "proper fishing" statement simply boils down to pursuing fish that don't particularly need our bait in their natural environment, as opposed to fishing places where you know what will come next i.e. mainly stocked carp of certain size which DO rely on our bait. There are skills to learn whatever form of fishing one chooses to pursue. Tight lines to all!

@@cadencefishinguk Back in the seventies I fished the river Trent at Burton on Trent,it would be called proper fishing at the time. The Trent exploded into life & became a mecca drawing top match anglers from far & wide with Marks, Dean, Allerton &Warren all being drawn to these waters. This was 'proper' fishing at its best on my opinion. I fished this river until the 80's pollution killed it dead & for many years it struggled along . Proper fishing during this time has meant, far fewer anglers fish ,far fewer times & the loss of angling societies have all contrived to depress the sport locally. The river is very different now ,its home to Barbel.& the silvers are making comeback.Noe we have a clean river that because of abstraction runs very low. For me Proper fishing seems to be a metaphor for hard fishing but that shouldn't be the case, just ask the likes of John Allerton etc just how good proper fishing can be.

Natural venues too inconsistent anglers are following money like yourself a rep. More money

Well done to Cadence for putting so much money into this and evolved baits. A great concept and I hope that the concept evolves. From a soft southern shandy drinker.

It’s open to all, no membership to any association or club so if you want to join in any of the qualifiers you’re welcome, at the moment most are sold out but reserve tickets are available to buy and anglers with multiple tickets will be dropping out leaving reserve anglers the chance to get on a match👍

Michael Shynes | To the River' fits perfect!! to the start of this, River Masters Final Video. A wise man once said: ‘You don’t catch fish unless you go fishing’ 🐟🎣👍🏻

It's called To The River. We obtain music from an online royalty free website called artlist.com. I was amazed how appropriate it was!

The reason river matchfishing is coming back is that us old boys can’t beat these kids on commercials where two to four hundred pound Summer weights is the norm.
When you get to a certain age physical fitness is definitely an issue!🎣💪

If that was true surely the opposite would be the case. I am of a certain age and getting on a decent peg on the river is fraught with difficulty. Gates and stiles seem to abound which causes mayhem as I push my trolly. Then the pegs seem to be overgrown much more than back in the day, because we still don’t get as many anglers as we used to. So I end up walking miles, pushing a trolly through undergrowth, grass spiralling round my wheels, decanting everything to get over stiles and repacking on the other side, all the while worrying if my car will be in one piece when I get back to it because travellers have set up in the carpark. I think the opposite is true. Them young men go to commercial fisheries because it is EASY. It is skill and hard work that catches fish whether on a river or a carp puddle. The difference is that carp puddles are so bloody boring. I only use them as a last resort, which is another reason for going, ...... they don’t flood! Well, not unless it’s Larford.
