I bought Sub Command and 688i as part of a pack to buy Fleet Command but I must admit that I never tried them. But I assume that Dangerous Waters is better than 688i because of the numerous platforms available, but as far as Sub Command is concerned I don't know.
Huh I disagree. The only "torpedo decoy" available on a Ticonderoga-class CG is the Nixie which is far from acting as a shield for the ship. Furthermore these cruisers can only be able to reach 32.5 knots while most torpedoes will cruise at about 50 knots, a Tico can't outrun a torpedo.
This game is only worthwhile with the LWAMI v3.11 mod, which can be DL'ed from Subsim. Then this game becomes a real gem. Becomes far more realistic, especially in detection and engagement ranges, and the AI becomes much smarter. Gotta be patient, though, as missions also become longer and slower-paced as a result. The default vanilla missions, however, don't work well with the mod (initial engagement ranges at startup are too close). Gotta use new missions and campaigns.
Corentin196 I love sailing the Oscar II SSGN for that very purpose !! Although the inferior passive sonar does even the score a bit. Luckily the a.i doesn't use them. I've tried all the mods available for DW and RA is the one for me.

Trust me, a Tico costs a hell of a lot more than all the weapons you can stuff into an Akula sub. ;)

Never completely trust the AI with TMA.
LWAMI mod have lots of bug! RA mod for ever!!!
For the true sub experience go with the RA mod.
Yeah I switched to Reinforced Alert quite a while ago. An awesome mod, although those Russian nuclear depth charges are nasty things to say the least.
