Hi everyone, Just wanted to share that I encountered the same problem as everyone in the comments trying to separate the two plastic parts of the self. After some jiggling, I found out it's glued in like 3 or 4 spots. So with some care and two thin tools, I was able to separate the parts without anything breaking. After that, the two parts are completely separate, but if you put them back together, they don't move (kind of like LEGO). So my advice would be to do as I did, and you don't even need to glue it back together afterwards. Hope I would help someone :)
The two part plastic shelf - is it possible to separate to clean? Mine catches crumbs. I have to use a pipe cleaner to get what I can of bits sandwiched between the layers. Great technology though.
