You have nice variety in your collection. I'm not a sandal guy personally, but nothing wrong with them whatsoever. I just don't like having my feet exposed, unless i'm at the beach or pool. My collection is definitely sneaker top-heavy, and that stems from being a former sneakerhead, as well as working in an office that has casual dress every day. My favorite would probably be my Ultraboosts. I highly recommend those for running/casual errands. I'm also a big fan of Vans authentics and old school's. I purchased a pair of Thursday Boots right before Covid hit, so i've only been able to wear them once but they are extremely comfortable and rugged. I also have several pairs of Chelsea boots, I'd say 4-5 pairs in various colors. I own LLBean boots for snow that i've had since college and they still look great. I do own a pair of walnut Allen Edmond Strands, which are usually my go-to for formal wear. And I have pair of black Cole Haan double Monk. This lockdown and working remotely has made me realize that maybe I have too many shoes... Oh well. Not the worst problem to have in the world. Cheers and Happy Holidays!
Love the "low key" look of your shoe collection. I have a very similar collection minus the monks. Totally agree about not babying shoes. Dress shoes of course need to look pristine: that's the point of them. But all the others look better when they DON'T look like you just bought them. Leather boots, boat shoes, and other casual leather shoes just look so much better when they have developed a wear pattern and the leather becomes seasoned and patinaed. That being said, I consider my shoes dirty and never wear or even store them inside the house. They have ventilated storage bags and shelves in the garage.
I believe the thing about sandals, thongs(what we call flip flops in Australia, look up what thong & thonging definition in a dictionary, before laughing at us!) is that most men I notice wearing this type of footwear don’t practice proper footcare or maintenance. I usually start my major foot care regimen in latter winter time so they are ready for spring. Most guys feet are quite horrendous.
Thank you for yet another video, Brock! I like your balance and honesty. I will suggest getting a pair of loafers: I think your collection would benefit greatly with such a purchase, mixing classic esthetic with slip on convenience. All the best for Christmas from Italy
My most worn pair of shoes is probably my Allen Edmonds 5th Ave in the coffee color. Super versatile but I mostly wear them with a navy suit or grey flannel trousers (I’m an attorney and can’t work from home).
I just got some Jodhpur Boots last week that I am waiting for in the mail which I think you should try a pair because it very minimalism in it look also it has a very clean look and no one is wearing them so you will stand out from most
Hey Brock! After watching your videos for several years, I just got my first pair of Chelsea boots! I am so excited to break them in. Have a great holiday!
Very nice, diverse shoe collection Brock. Thanks for sharing. These days my favorite Brand is Allen Edmond’s with upwards of 20 pair, including Strand, Fifth Avenue, HIggins Mill, etc. models. Having said that, my all time favorite shoes are Church’s Shoes out of the U.K. I have one of Church’s hand stitched medium tan Cap Toe Oxfords which I really love. Even though they are more than 25 years old, they are in tremendous condition and tend to be my go to shoes for weddings and other special events. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Healthy, Safe, Joyous and Prosperous 2021!...Ed
Well, you call yourself the modest man, I think being minimalist is your style and I guess you have covered all your life situations. I prefer having more options to choose from. Great video 👌🏻
Wearing sandals while on the move in the city or parks has a risk factor because the toes are not protected from debris, insect bites, etc. It is a health and safety issue.
I only wear flip flops when going to the beach, I feel limited and have to be careful if I wear it anywhere else. And I don't like feet, feet are ugly. At the end, wear your style.
@@Bjj50plus Sandals or flip flops in the city limits looks tacky. Footwear for the beach stays at the beach. Besides, anyone wearing sandals or flip flops traveling appears like an "American tourist" that will soon be a target of crime.
I personally don't wear sandals and shorts even during summer, but I think most guys should wear whatever they are comfortable with, for example the sandals and shorts is great for hot weathers, but some guys like me just like wearing feet covered shoes for comfort even during super hot weathers, that's just me. Anyways love your videos, keep it up!
I've been recently wearing my Allen Edmonds Long Branch in brown the most... no break in time and extremely comfortable plus I like the wingtip broguing. I can wear them in the snow also.

I agree! If you wear a pair of flip flops and have long nasty toenails and dry rough feet, that's what makes it unsightly. If you take care of your feet though it will actually set you apart from most men!
Great collection that is versatile and practical. I have 2 pairs of Captain's and like the look of Thursday's Chelseas. Maybe I'll add a pair to my wish list lol.
Over the last 2 years I've purchased a lot of new pair of shoes for different purposes and for functionality, plus ultimately needed them for the style. I got athe least 20 pairs of shoes. I'm just about 24 years old and I absolutely love mens dress shoes, especially when I'm using them for work. Your shoe collection is overall fantastic. I would suggest that the only time you can wear sandals and flipflops is when you travel to to the beach, somewhere extremely hot or someplace around the outdoor swimming pool. As long as your feet are clean, no dirt in the toe nails and it doesn't look ugly? People wouldn't take much notice if you take care of your feet.

20 years ago I would have loved this collection (and I still do today). It’s so much easier to find shoes In bigger sizes now. 15 year old me is jealous, though.
@@MasterCheef00 If you work in a business casual environment and don’t wear suits often a dark brown derby will be your friend. Granted you want to have a shoe rotation so get a pair of burgundy oxfords as well.
I agree with the idea of not treating shoes like some sacred entity and just wear them, however I do take a bit extra care of mine, like investing in shoe trees and giving them a good clean every once in a while
I DID NOT know Greats had sold out to Madden. I’ve got a great pair over a year old but I’ll think twice before buying another pair. Not that I have some beef against Madden, but no one buys a shoe mfr and doesn’t cut costs.
This man is like: "you definitely couldn't wear this with a business casual outfit." Meanwhile, my "business casual outfit" for work currently includes a pair of grey brooks running shoes with vibrant blue laces.. I'm working on a fix lol.
I 100% agree with nicer shoes "with character". My Allen Edmonds were my everyday shoe until Covid. They broke in beautifully, feel amazing, and look super-comfortable and have that sort of casual yet "expensive" character. I do nothing to them except a little leather conditioner once in a while since Ohio winters and salted sidewalks can be cruel. That said, if I was going to wedding and wanted to really step up the shoe game, I WOULD wear something more cared for and polished up.
as a minimalist, i just have 4 pairs trainers for excercise sneakers for casual wear brown chelsea boots black chelsea boots that's it. yes, i wear a suit with chelsea boots. dress shoes are useless most of the year, no reason to buy a pair when the black boots are good enough.
For my lifestyle and location, my White’s boots smokejumpers get far more use than anything else I have and I can wear for every situation except when my brown plain toe derby or black oxfords would be a better choice.
If you don't have presentable feet/toes, or very overly white feet, you should not wear sandals. Care for your feet, get a tan, get a pedicure if you have to, then wear all the sandals you want.
Very nice!!! Thank you, as always, for all the effort, time and love you put into all of your content!!! :D Youand your lovely wife be sure to have a very Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄, and cheers to you, delightful Mr. Brock!!!!! :D
My most worn are the Vancouver boot by Allen Edmonds right now. Made from chromexel leather they are stylish and great for snow due to the properties of the leather.
I hated sandals, but this year with the lockdown, I've been wearing a cheap pair of thong flip flops every day. I orginally bought them in case I ever went to a pool haha. Just around the house, never in public.
Sweet collection man! Do you think the color of those Oliver Cabell Ash boots on their site is same to your pair? Looks much darker and I like yours better 😁
The argument against sandles is the same as the argument against barefeet. Your feet aren't protected, your feet get dirty and some people don't like to see your feet. Sandles like yours are on par with flip flops for the most casual footware. Fine in the right context.
Currently, I think my Grant Stone Diesel’s in Crimson are getting the most wear right now. You must have got rid of your loafer did you? My ideal leather shoe collection is about 12 shoes, with it being 5 boots (winter), 5 shoes (spring summer wear), and then 2 dress shoes. What’s next, an updated outer wear collection? 🤔 Happy holidays, Brock!
@@BrockMcGoff heard the Grant Stone ones are pretty good on the Style Forum Thread. I may be giving them a try, but there’s so many brands to look through now to make a decision on a loafer. Plus, they’re hard to fit compared to other shoes, due to no laces
I've just realized we're so similar, I love the Chelsea boots so much that I can't stop to wear them especially in fall and winter , I love the way you make videos , simple bright and clean (less is more ); for sandals , i would say women's toes probably shows more sexy than men ,if men wear sandals ,it's less masculine and also more casual like for beach ⛱ 😉
No problem with wearing sandals but I just don’t find them comfortable. I personally prefer something like vans slip ons (except when I’m going to the beach)
I recently downsized my shoe collection to the minimum possible and left what I consider the best quality stuff. I donated what was just collecting dust in my closet. 20 years ago I would have loved this collection (and I still do today). It’s so much easier to find shoes In bigger sizes now. 15 year old me is jealous, though.
I remember “wedding season” It will be replaced by “divorce season” in your forties.
Totally true.
And second marriage season followed by friends’ kids weddings
What's the most versatile dress shoe/color? If I were to only have 1 for all occasions?
Dark brown 👍🏼
@@BrockMcGoff Oxford or?
@@MasterCheef00 If you work in a business casual environment and don’t wear suits often a dark brown derby will be your friend. Granted you want to have a shoe rotation so get a pair of burgundy oxfords as well.
@@eyeheartsushi2212 awesome, thanks for the advice!
@@MasterCheef00 You’re welcome!
My most worn pair of shoes is probably the beeswax brown Clark's desert boots. Nice shoe collection!
Awesome collection man!!! My most worn shoes right now are my Everlane Tread Sneakers in off white. So comfortable!
I personally don't think men shouldn't wear sandals, I just feel weird showing my toes in public, idk.
You got all scenarios covered. Nice collection and a nice video.
I agree with the idea of not treating shoes like some sacred entity and just wear them, however I do take a bit extra care of mine, like investing in shoe trees and giving them a good clean every once in a while
Hey Man. Just discovered your channel. Love your vids - very professional and informative. Subbed!!
I DID NOT know Greats had sold out to Madden. I’ve got a great pair over a year old but I’ll think twice before buying another pair. Not that I have some beef against Madden, but no one buys a shoe mfr and doesn’t cut costs.
I have 3 pairs of Greats and feel the same about them being bought by Steve Madden.
My favourite footwear? A oair of dark brown Tommy Bahama sandals very
My favourite shoes are my wild rhino black brogue wingtips but I love a good pair of boots anyday
That said, if I was going to wedding and wanted to really step up the shoe game, I WOULD wear something more cared for and polished up.
as a minimalist, i just have 4 pairs
trainers for excercise
sneakers for casual wear
brown chelsea boots
black chelsea boots
that's it. yes, i wear a suit with chelsea boots. dress shoes are useless most of the year, no reason to buy a pair when the black boots are good enough.
You buy one pair of dress shoes and it'll last you a lifetime if you don't wear it that often, since they're timeless 🤷🏻♂️
@@nyuan15 they make clutter all year round tho. I very rarely buy just in case items.
Time for an update on your show collection. =)
Most worn Viberg Crust service boots, most loved, Grant Stone bourbon suede loafers. I have several pairs of GS and they just get better with time.
I adore Tevas, so comfy
Right now I wear my Baudoin and Lange Sagan loafers more than anything. They are really comfortable and look great!
I want to see a suit collection
And a coat one!
Love the video and congrats on 300k subscribers!!
Thank you!
Merry Christmas, Brock. That’s a solid shoe collection. Covers all occasions.
Great Collection!
It is hard, I think the favourite in my collection is the RM Williams Chelsea Boot.
They look stylish and are insanely comfortable.
My most worn pair of shoes this season is Salomon winter running boots, which i use as everyday boots all the time.
Love the channel keep up the good work!!!
Men who are against wearing sandals might be insecure with their feet. Let them breathe, sandals are great for the summer.
Great collection similar to my shoe stash.
I hated sandals, but this year with the lockdown, I've been wearing a cheap pair of thong flip flops every day. I orginally bought them in case I ever went to a pool haha. Just around the house, never in public.
My most worn pair of shoes at the moment is a pair of Red Wing Weekender Chukka Boots.
Thanks for the advice. I am buying the moccasins!!!!
Chucks for everyday casual wear, but try to find reasons to throw on the Greats Royale or moc toe work boots
I have 10 pairs of koios . Definitely gonna be the Capri Nero .
Hey Brock the link for the Koio sneakers is linked to the Oliver Cabel website not Koio!
Just a heads up that the minnetonka slippers are the wrong link in description
Buy a pair of AJ1s!!
Got a pair of Dukes on the way. They’ll be my third pair from Thursday
Happy holidays, Brock!
I can’t find a loafer that I really enjoy wearing. Might have to try something new this spring/summer. Happy holidays to you too!
@@BrockMcGoff heard the Grant Stone ones are pretty good on the Style Forum Thread. I may be giving them a try, but there’s so many brands to look through now to make a decision on a loafer. Plus, they’re hard to fit compared to other shoes, due to no laces
Nice one!
Love your videos man. Keep going 👍
Would love to see you do a Blundstone video! Maybe reach out to them. Great casual chelseas that are soooo comfortable.
No problem with wearing sandals but I just don’t find them comfortable. I personally prefer something like vans slip ons (except when I’m going to the beach)
Most worn shoes - my ultraboost. Haven't been doing much outside except walking and running so
sandal are nice af, my birks got ton of miles on it during summer. Just throw them on go for walk or somethin or anywhere lol esp on vaca
I recently downsized my shoe collection to the minimum possible and left what I consider the best quality stuff. I donated what was just collecting dust in my closet. I hardly leave home because of the pandemic situation so I wear almost 100% of the time a pair of old Birkenstocks. Great video. Cheers from Brazil.
