They needed to keep the momentum going after Endgame, by immediately introducing Dr. Doom and the X-Men and the other A-list characters.
100% agree that after Endgame, Disney should have just gone all in on X-Men and Fantastic Four, but no matter which characters they adapt, their cause is hopeless unless they hire interesting filmmakers, something they've been reluctant to do.

I agree about screen x or whatever. Saw a movie once in the format, absolutely terrible. Side walls were a pure distraction, stopped even looking at them early on.
Typically when someone says it’s the worst movie ever they’re simply stating their disdain for that movie in the most extreme metaphorical way possible.

With a budget of *$80 million* you'd think they would put effort into this, but I didn't see any of it. I just want to know where did the money really go?
I’m not sure who this movie is for? 🤷♂️ It’s almost as if Sony said, “The Marvels’ bombed huh? Hold our beer.” 😆 As for the anti-fan, let’s roll the clocks back to 2011. The descendants of Siegel & Shuster who created Superman won a landmark case, where DC comics went into a panic and launched new 52 where Superman didn’t even have his costume. Soon, the descendants of those who created Spider-man filed their lawsuit. Enter the birth of Miles Morales. Then creators of Iron Man filed their lawsuit. Enter Riri Williams. You get the gist. Marvel & DC would make it sound like they “care” about diversity inclusion, & equality. No they don’t. They created these off brand characters where they have a much stronger grip over royalties. What angers me is the fact, the studios/corporations essentially painted a target on individuals and any negativity was met with “anti-fan” garbage. I never thought I’d say this but pretty Much the only way fans will have their childhood obsessions back…is if the genre collapses in on itself as it did in 1998. A relaunch led to fresh editors, creative teams, and a bold new chapter. For now we gotta live with the fact, Morbius might just be the least offensive super-hero film since 2022. 😆
I remember that late Nineties collapse all too well. The era of Onslaught and Heroes Reborn. What a mess. Things got so bad that I started reading comics like The Authority and Planetary which helped me discover even more cool stuff not being published by the Big 2. I have a feeling that after so many expensive failures the big studios are probably already pivoting away from superheroes, but it will take a few years for all the dust to settle.
Movies went backwards when practical effects left the art. When 1 on 1 acting with physical objects all around them went bye bye for a green screen. Same as when video games went Digital, they're allowed to be released broken also. All of this crap started with Computers making up 70% of the movie, while actors just stand and talk to nothing. "is that considered acting or is it just a long audition? Crap even Broadway shows have physical objects around them. This is to enlist emotion, to know your surroundings. "Dakota even said she had no clue what was going to be around her."
I agree. Superhero movies are awful now. I’m honestly glad that my wife is pregnant because now I’ll have a good excuse to get out of checking out a new comic book movie with my friends.
Youre Dad didnt happen to save any of those early 60s comics when he passed his addiction on to you? Cause that wouldve been insane. With a huge family, 8 9 siblings?! There had to be a few hand me downs.
I agree with our enlighten host. It is definitely & obviously intentional,, that the superhero genre is failing. It is being completely sabotaged actually. They’re intentionally trying to take away all of the toys,, that the boys & men love. That seems to be the case. Just look at the writing. Just look at the casting. There is no way that this cannot be intentional. These studios have been making movies in some cases for over 100 years. They know what a quality film should look like. They know what a great script is. But yet they’re pushing out garbage after garbage. Of course, that includes all the marvel TV shows. Poor Hawkeye. Finally gets his moment to shine,, and be the James Bond 007 with the bow and arrow. Did he got treated like a weak ass simp. Who got a his first bow and arrow last Christmas. What they did the kingpin in the Hawkeye series,, is a crying shame. What the hell did they do to she hulk? I’m not even gonna say anything about that garbage. Yet,, There is nothing more malicious and sadder than what they did to the last 3 Star Wars movies. Han Solo went out like a chump, they made the hope of the galaxy Luke Skywalker a weak Simp. The only black man in outer space,, in a galaxy far far far away,, is a garbage man lol scientist, not an engineer, not a doctor,, he’s a garbage man lol and what they did with baby, Darth Vader,, it’s absolutely ridiculous. All of that shit is intentional. And don’t believe that jazz about comic book movie fatigue. What is fatiguing is bad writing & horrible special effects. I’m just keeping my fingers crossed,, that they don’t fuck up daredevil or Deadpool. As well as marvel 2025 submissions to the comic book movie genre. I’m also keeping my fingers crossed for James Gunn and his new DC universe.
Can we please stop pretending actors take these roles for anything other than a fat paycheck? They know exactly what they're signing up for. Zero sympathy.
I want to disagree with you. Marvel can be saved, but it will take something imaginative (and perhaps risky) like for example. Start your film with a character study of one of the rarely mentioned members of the Sinister Six, and then move to the next one, and finally organizing the Six and their goal--Dominance what else. As the film comes to the end we see the Six announcing their demands, and from all over individual people who have been in hiding because they are DIFFERENT, the people who well form the X-Men, step up individually to face off against these villains. As the battle is about to start. End of film. X-Men will then creatively introduced without the need for any of the Fox cast needed. Even the X-Men don't have to be the same ones. I mean there are hundred or even thousands of X-Men with various power/skill sets. Let's be creative.
Sony owns the rights to Spider-Man. The sharing with Disney for the MCU aside, they also have rights to Spidey adjacent characters. I would rather that Spider-Man stay in the MCU, but Sony is not giving up that cash cow. That's why they keep pumping out these mediocre to horrible spider verse movies. The exception being the Miles Morales animated movies. Have no interest in seeing this one or Kraven for that matter. Thanks for watching, so I don't have to. 😁
Let me see if I’m understanding the concept of this movie. There’s a character that’s like Spider-Man, but he isn’t Spider-Man. And there are 3 or 4 Spider related women characters that exist. Before the original (1962) Peter Parker Spider-Man was even born lol. Wow,, sounds a little bit like an agenda. As well as the intentional (failed) Attempt at rewriting comic book Spider-Man history. That is sad.
I suspect all these movie nonsense must have come from politics agenda, checklist related to politics which totally ruin the principles of a good movie. Sorry I am not from US but is US having a new elected government based on this kind of agenda? If so then an earlier election vote out of this government will solve the problem.
I have no doubt to doubt the veracity of your review. But I do have a couple of minor quibbles. I'm not white knighting for Dakota Johnson, but she does actually produce her own films. Looking at her current IMDB, she's listed as a producer on 2 feature films, 1 documentary, and 1 TV show. She's the star of the two films and appears in the documentary. She's also got another film with Sean Penn coming out, which she also stars in, and a TV series coming out. She's also done quite well to parlay her Fifty Shades of Grey cachet to get some low budget indies made. You mentioned A Bigger Splash already, but there's also the Peanut Butter Falcon, Our Friend, The High Note, The Lost Daughter, and Persuasion; not to mention the original studio films like How to be Single, Bad Times at the El Royale and the Suspiria remake. Out of that list, how many of them have you seen; and how many have you reviewed on your channel? And I'm not even disparaging you. Of that list, I've only seen two myself: Bad Times and the Suspiria remake. My real point though is that now, more than ever, film making is a business more so than it's even an art form. The reality is that general audiences don't go out their way to see non-franchise stuff, especially not at the cinema - where the real money is still made. And if you want to remain a marketable/bankable actor, who can then parlay that marketability/bankability into getting passion projects made, you have to appear in these franchise properties every now and then. That's the deal - the devil's bargain. But it does look she's doing better than most actors in a similar position - those with some pull, at least - have done historically, where it used to be '2 for them and 1 for me'. With her, it appears to be the reverse. Now the question is whether someone like Johnson could have picked better material to sell out on; but realistically she probably wasn't getting the prime Marvel offers - probably she still isn't - and the bills came due; and she pulled the trigger on this. It said Marvel on it so to her it was probably enough. She's obviously not a comic book geek. But that's really the calculus. The economics of the film industry these days is that it forces good actors, who would never otherwise sign onto this type of trash, into appearing in things that will at least generate some general interest and get a wide cinema release. The other thing I'll say that I also think it's unfair to single out the screenwriters here. With films of this type, the screenwriters are the guys with the least amount of input as to how the final film turns out. This is an accepted reality by people in the business. This was probably an open assignment for them - something that was going to get made regardless - and the studio liked their initial pitch. They then handed in their first draft, which was probably noted to death by the studio prior to being handed in, but probably even this version would be unrecognizable from what finally ended up on the screen. Because how it usually works in these cases is that once that first script is handed in and the movie greenlit based off of it, the studio then gets their own team of in-house writers to re-write it - all of them uncredited, btw - and then the director does a pass herself before start of shooting. So if anyone should take the blame on this - although I wouldn't even blame her necessarily - it's the director SJ Clarkson. But she was probably messed with too by the producers and the studio executives; I would bet that if you asked her, the movie she thought she signed onto isn't what's being released now. She definitely didn't have final cut, of that we can be sure. But that's how these movies are made these days. It's a total committee job. But to blame the credited writers is unfair. Guys are just out there trying to make a living. Like I said, this movie would have been made regardless, with any team of writers. Think about this: If even Erich Roth is getting rewritten by an uncredited PTA on Killers of the Flower Moon, then what hope is there for guys like Sazama and Sharpless on something like this? It's ridiculous.

Much the only way fans will have their childhood obsessions back…is if the genre collapses in on itself as it did in 1998.
I have a feeling that after so many expensive failures the big studios are probably already pivoting away from superheroes, but it will take a few years for all the dust to settle.
lol this movie broke your brain son 😂
completely
My guess they sony was sure that the marvels was going to be a big g hit and so they made a movie like it with what property they have
Movies went backwards when practical effects left the art.
Personally I don’t really see the appeal in Sydney Sweeney but to each their own
Is there at least sex appeal?
Kinda. Sweeney spends half the movie in a mini skirt to sell us on the idea that she's a teenager.
@@geekinwithJamesHancock hmmm. Disturbing but ok
Shame i do like Dakota💚🇬🇧🌱
Same. Loved her in 'A Bigger Splash'.
@@geekinwithJamesHancock dam James! Another movie I'll have to put on the list x
Youre Dad didnt happen to save any of those early 60s comics when he passed his addiction on to you? Cause that wouldve been insane. With a huge family, 8
9 siblings?! There had to be a few hand me downs.
Awwwwww dang.
Every once in a while, a flick come along that provokes a special response.
The thumbnail made me insta-subscribe
I saw The Creator in Screen-X. Yes, totally stupid gimmick.
Great review. Agreed, life is too short, go watch some attack on Titan instead. Or, Godzilla minus one!!
Thanks
So, even hottest chicks in this movie could not save this movie? Ouch! Lol.
Can we please stop pretending actors take these roles for anything other than a fat paycheck? They know exactly what they're signing up for. Zero sympathy.
Totally fair but Dakota has shown an interest several times in the past in appearing in off the beaten path art house flicks.
Is a movie better than Plan 9 from Outer Space...worse than Plan 9 from Outer Space?
#TeamHammer 🔨🙃
#TeamHammer all the way.
Cool t shirt
Love lies and bleeding
I'll be there on day 1.
Or raging bull
Sony owns the rights to Spider-Man. The sharing with Disney for the MCU aside, they also have rights to Spidey adjacent characters. I would rather that Spider-Man stay in the MCU, but Sony is not giving up that cash cow. That's why they keep pumping out these mediocre to horrible spider verse movies. The exception being the Miles Morales animated movies. Have no interest in seeing this one or Kraven for that matter. Thanks for watching, so I don't have to. 😁
A steaming pile... but, yes, not the worst film.I have ever seen. Merely deadly dull and utterly pointless.
I really love her
worst movie ever made is without a doubt Dragon ball Evolution
Let me see if I’m understanding the concept of this movie. There’s a character that’s like Spider-Man, but he isn’t Spider-Man. And there are 3 or 4 Spider related women characters that exist. Before the original (1962) Peter Parker Spider-Man was even born lol. Wow,, sounds a little bit like an agenda. As well as the intentional (failed) Attempt at rewriting comic book Spider-Man history. That is sad.
even grace randolph gave this a pretty negative review and you KNOW that means this is a really bad movie
Celeste O Conner was horrible
I suspect all these movie nonsense must have come from politics agenda, checklist related to politics which totally ruin the principles of a good movie. Sorry I am not from US but is US having a new elected government based on this kind of agenda? If so then an earlier election vote out of this government will solve the problem.
what country are you from
This looks like a bad episode of Jessica Jones
This flick wishes it could be as good as a bad episode of Jessica Jones.
I like the movie.
ZERO interest in any of these films.

This review was worse than the movie
This needs to flop
