When new regulations come out that make certain components of your car worse, does it make sense to continue developing new parts for that component of the vehicle? After a reg change, I noticed that developing new parts for that component actually made my car worse
Is there any way to keep your drivers from crashing other than their confidence? I got fired after season 2 because i was in massive debt from buying so many emergency parts and powertrains and getting penalties putting me at the back of the grid every 2-3 races Edit: went through 9 engines which isnt that bad tbh but 9 ERS units and 14 gearboxes ruined my season
The control stat is pretty handy for keeping drivers out of trouble. Alternatively, turn down their overtaking and defending during a race, as those instructions encourage the driver to take more risks. I ditched Logan in favour of Antonio Giovinazzi at Williams for this exact reason. The extra couple of million a season I'm paying in salary is half the cost of one replacement engine, so it's great value and a medium term fix as he can do the job for a season or so until I'm competing for podiums.
@@hoonglianghew8837 As Nero said, order them to take less risks. I'm using McLaren. Lando has been amazing, hasn't had a single incident. Piastri...well, he chills at the back and is either making mistakes or getting cleaned up by the back markers hah
Can you pls do a video where you explain how to upgrade with low budget In your alpha tauri career you have a lot of money for development When you choose alfa romeo its very tricky to get a good car
any tips for getting better acceleration? I’m with Alpine and we have about the 3rd/4th best car but our acceleration is 11th and I can’t seem to get lower
Because of the research bug, does it matter how you set the sliders at the moment? You can't specialize your car in a certain direction at the moment? 🙁
I managed to win in first season with mercs, but despite I started research as soon as it is available and hired the best staff in the game, they built the worst car for season 2. I done 2 reasearch for each part. What am I missing?
Have you actually built the season 2 car yet? Once you build your car and specialize sliders and weight you are most likely going to have the best car.
Can you offer guidance how to get rid of a driver by replacing him concearning braking contracts. Some times they are huge buyouts. How do we successfully afford it in the future as we can go negative in our bank
There is not really anything you can do in terms of buyouts, you can plan ahead and match your drivers contract ending with one you want to hire but you are very limited in how you limit buyouts. Giving your drivers short time contracts if you switch them out often is one way, but buy outs are basically decided by their yearly pay and how many years they have left on their contracts.
So I messed up, I only have 9 mil cost cap and both my cars need engines. Should I research first before buying engines which will push me over cost cap?
Depends, if you are going to end up going into debt from buying the engines and paying the fines you should not do it as that could get you fired, the board really hates the player going into debt. If not, you should be fine with researching first.
@@NeroBax I think it shows every part with the sliders in the middle, correct? Also, is the final expertise on every stats always higher in research than in design? Cause it looks like so, at least in my save
Not really as you wanna combat regulation changes, but you are forced to at the moment due to research defaulting to balanced no matter where you put the sliders.
@@NeroBax I'm at s1 at Austria ,with McLaren Should I have the sliders balanced for season 1? Or will a patch come before the end of S1? I'm just wondering because I'm not competitive enough to challenge the top 4 so I'm going to focus on the next year's car.
Depends alot on your current expertise and regulation changes as the lower it is the more you get. Particularly for lower end teams you can get some pretty weird numbers with research and ATR.
The thing is the cost of the facilities is massive, about 7 million a year for a maxed Wind Tunnel and an additional 6 million for a maxed CFD sim, that is an extra 13 million of your cost cap. Once you get to say the top 3 the lesser allocation makes it so that it wont be worth it. Not to mention that at the moment CFD/Wind only uses the Lv1 building stats for research so if you plan on using any of the 6 periods for research you are already limiting yourself severly by the money used for the facilities. The other facilities are fine, but CFD/Wind just dont seem worth it as they will take a huge amount of your cost cap just to operate, and if used for research, wont even give benefits of additional levels.
you need to fact all parts..... you only gain 30% on that part alone not on all the car ....... at the end .... thats how im thinking, try 30% on all parts and check it again ....
Do you really need a "good" reserve driver when you already have 2 good young drivers? Or is he just stealing your cost-cap and training time from your normal drivers? Unless you want to promote him in the coming years to one of your main drivers.
You don't really need one, but he isn't stealing training time or anything like that. Also driver/reserve salaries don't have an effect on your cost cap.
@@NeroBax Ah thanks! My concern was that they would hit the cost cap. Thanks your videos are really good - helped me to understand the possibilities in the game a lot. Although now I think that it's quite an easy manager sim 😄... Hope they will build more depth into the game like for example the possiility that one of your driver gets sick or has an bike crash and your reserve driver hast to replace them.

that'd be unfair to mike though ;)
Easily wins. He is very analytical, he is open to discourse with his viewers, and concise videos touching on the complexities of the game.

In the tactics menu you can order them to take less risks, but it is either that or their control and confidence.

Do the gains from research stack if you research the same part multiple times in one season?
Yes.

When you choose alfa romeo its very tricky to get a good car
I am going to make a Alfa Romeo "Survival Guide" at one point, probably sometime next week.
So whilst the sliders arent working do we just go with balanced every time?
Yes.
It doesn't matter how you move the sliders as the game reverts them back to balanced on project start.
Can we research without using cfd and wind tunnel time?
So annoying finally get the car nearby at the top then new seasons starts and its rock bottom again even when i researching new car parts 😑
any tips for getting better acceleration? I’m with Alpine and we have about the 3rd/4th best car but our acceleration is 11th and I can’t seem to get lower
Your engine will be most of your acceleration, meaning you will have a hard time getting it higher at Alpine.
stripping the weight of all of your parts and rear wing will get you the most but it's not going to be a lot
At which race about starting research?
Because of the research bug, does it matter how you set the sliders at the moment? You can't specialize your car in a certain direction at the moment? 🙁
Yes.
what is the reasearch bug
As you can see the research hardly makes any difference to the car so would it be better to do development instead of research ?

How does development of current car affect next year's car? Would would be an effect of doing no research at all, and stay with design only?
Any development you do will give you expertise, aslong as you don't lose expertise from regulation changes, next years car will benefit.
@@NeroBax and what gives more expertise. Regular design or research? They cost the same.
They should be mostly equal, research will be more bang for your buck as you don't need to worry about fabricating part.
Why does every car parts in research shows a dofferent car performance? What does it mean?
It means that every part is not equal, and it also shows you what finishing this research will give you in terms of gains for next seasons car.
@@NeroBax I think it shows every part with the sliders in the middle, correct? Also, is the final expertise on every stats always higher in research than in design? Cause it looks like so, at least in my save

Can't do any research before regulation changes have been voted on.
was this ever fixed?
When will it be fixed?
Hard to know, theres a lot of glitches that need to be patched before r&d Balancing
