B-alanace A-cceptance R-hythm S-elf carriage Thank you. I will try this out next week when I have another riding lesson. Hopefully my trainer lets me jump again😅
Such a useful tool.. really helps with the riders timing leading up to and over fences and also has the added bonus of making you breathe throughout your SJ round!! - has really helped my daughter with her riding! ;)
Your videos are helping me so much as I get back into riding after 20 years off! There's so much to think of when approaching a jump but your advice is always so practical and easy to digest and put into action :)
I can see distances, but when I see a 'bad' distance, I don't know how to correct it. Let's say I see a really deep distance 5 strides away from the jump, do I collect the canter, or support with my legs for a bigger stride?
Hi! So I am wondering what to do im short turns when it comes to counting six? Because a really short turn sometimes will give me 2-3 strides before the jump? So shpuld i count from the turn?
Counting the six strides has helped me so much. Its a fantastic tool to stop me fussing. Thank you so much love our lessons
Your jumping looks so easy now, you are both in the same thought patterns.
Love how you talk about listening to the canter! It's something a lot of riders forget about but is so useful :)
Yes, trainers talk about seeing the distance but it's more of listening
So pleasantly surprised how much it’s helped my horse counting aloud the strides going into a jump, such a helpful tip
It immerses the brain in the rhythm of the canter, so simple but so effective.

The BEST advice to find the best stride. Beautifully explained as usual kirstin 🙏
Thanks Alison 😊
ty i hope this works bc i keep falling off bf of long distances and this broke all my confidence😢
Huge fan of these video clips, acronyms are so good! Chin up, great tip ❤️
Glad you enjoyed!
Definitely very helpful for me and apple and have really helped improve my distances!
Great to hear!
Love this, accept it! I definitely do the ‘omg’ we are going in so close. 😅
Now when you see the close distance, lift your chin to engage your core and encourage the horse to rock back and propel upwards ✅
Very helpful! Thanks for the great video :)
Glad it was helpful!
Yes this is so helpful. When my horse and I get going I will definitely be having lessons with you

I look early and start counting before the short turn as counting six gives you long enough to listen to the beat too
@@KirstinKellyEquestrian thanks so much it has really helped!
See the distance and accept it! Look at the ground rail and count your six strides to help keep your rhythm. Works every time :-)
And the trust and confidence builds ✅ as your proving each time I see you ride 👍
Love this. Will be very helpful for my daughter when jumping.
It’s a great way to keep them focused on the horse and confident
Great advice Kirstin! I'll do this at my next jumping session at the riding school.
Excellent, keep practicing till it becomes natural
Counting ! Counting out loud helps me soo much when trying to find a stride.
Keeps you immersed in the beat ✅
