Sad to see so many living like this! No one grows up and says when i get older i am going to be a homeless person!! I am sure most of them have stories why they are there, but living off the gov't...means living off the tax payers. They need serious help not hand outs that enable them. When i was young we could not enjoy our hot chocolate during intermission of hockey games at the nearby 7 Eleven. Cops would be called on us young people for loitering at the 7 Eleven. Now they are cleaning up human waste and drug paraphenalia at their doors each morning. Disgusting how our leaders have destroyed society. The family unit is broken and this mess stems from that also!

@@MarinaLaroche I would estimate that most people there have addiction issues. Some may not have had addictions prior to homelessness, but once surrounded by drug use , they may have started .Some are seniors on fixed incomes and can't find affordable housing, and some are suffering from mental illness and have fallen through the cracks or are also addicts and can't get into programs due to their addiction.

Wondering the same. Working? DOubtful but possible, the cost of living is so high in this area that they may all be out working and still can not afford housing.
I've rented a house in that neighborhood for almost 10 years and I am glad I finally moved last spring. Gets worse every year. Keep your doors locked, windows closed and don't leave anything that you don't want to lose outside in your yard or back porch. Can't even leave your car windows partially open on a scorching hot days in your own fenced driveway. They will come and take everything and anything that not bolted down or locked up. And when you tell them to leave your property, they tell you to go F#@* yourself and threaten you, as if they have the right to do and go wherever they want. And as far as all the people who say I should be more compassionate for the homeless...I used to be, but after living in the Kelowna DT area for that long, completely changed my views of homeless-lawless people. Not all of them, but a lot of them.
I’ve got many libtard, virtue signalling, socialist work”friends” and family members. They are the same way, they virtue signal how much they care but if anyone ever crosses them, look out. They’re all contrarians as well, for example, I will say something about how much crime goes on around the homeless camps and they’ll put me in my place with a comment like, where’s your empathy or compassion. But if they ever become the victim of crime, then they go ballistic. Hypocrites, Godless liars.
this was nice and clean. loved the trash cans and porta potties.. this is what ive been sayin for years that we need to do everywhere. out of all the homeless videos ive watched this is the only one ive seen where the people were helped with trash and porta potties.. i hope it spreads..
Next time you decide to park in the city make sure your rig looks like a tent,…oh right they only pick on people with money and it appears they’ll pick up the tent cities garbage no charge!
But what about when winter comes to kelowna doesn't it get pretty cold there? They couldn't survive outside so I guess they move down to Vancouver or victoria?

Ask how much money and health risks to taxed smokers. $20per pack. Then ask why Health Canada gives out opioids for no tax citizens. (Answer that to yourself) Yet they don't allow clean, tobacco-toxic-free cigarettes into our country. Truth will always prevail, "cream rises to to the top"
They should set up more washrooms and trash bins, water fountains, for they know these people come every summer. And then leave. Be kind to your tourists. To your friends and neighbours are just next door living there, they are all over the world. 😊❤
This has to be one of the neatest and most orderly tent cities I've ever seen. Trash cans and residents cleaning up their surroundings. Looks like a lot of regular folks just SOoL. We really need to create more affordable housing and more employment opportunities.
Employment is a problem. I can’t tell you how many jobs I’ve tried to apply for but no one will hire. I think our country is screwed because they just won’t give anybody a chance to do anything decent. Then they wonder why we have tent cities. Our government should focus on getting people a living wage.
Your not homeless your homefree! Saving thousands a month. Your not poor your just all in, playing a tough game. People would be surprised if you put 8 hours a day into providing for yourself food water and shelter you can live a chill life no stress or drama. It's can be great. Struggling with addiction in this situation just makes it more difficult. Keep smiling so others see that camping 365 is possible. Its a great life when you set into a routine. I like they have a place to go and they have trash cans available. Classy! Vancouver and Victoria should provide this to.
@chrissmith3509 come on, not all of them are! I'm also addicted to things caffeine, nicotine, sugar, bit of gonja, gasoline, diesel huge list of petroleum products we all couldnt live with out but worst of all money I'm extremely addicted to money! Making it ill almost do anything for it. I risk my life every day for it. How am i better. I cant judge. Just trashy to see them so buzzed out in public, but society though wow we live with the consequences of our decisions. As our country gets stripped of our rights and quality of life I'm glad to see these people doing good. I went from owning a house to all in then homefree transitioned into a tent-van-semi/pickup-now a small house boat. Cash is king! It adds up quick if you do it right and don't give it all away.
I'm going to start my own tent city in St Albert, Alberta, as I can no longer afford my rent. I'll have to save for a tent first, I haven't see any in the lical Goodwill recently.
I find it interesting how people say the solution is for them to work. It is not that simple, and it is not helpful to think it is. Many jobs require an address of a home, a residency. I think banks require an address too? I may be mistaken. Your job requires a way to pay you directly ie a bank account. Not cash, not cheque. Unless it is a manual labour job that is paid under the table/through small business, then cash is common. However, there are many homeless that are physically unwell. They have health conditions that make manual labour jobs difficult. And any other job - a desk job, basic retail - probably requires what I spoke of - residency, a bank account. Those jobs probably also deal with the public - so having a recovering drug addict struggling with mental illness, who probably has low hygiene and tardiness due to these issues, isn't your first pick as an employer. There _are_ jobs that some homeless can find, where the job just demands you show up and do manual labour, such as fruit picking, digging, sorting products, but that doesn't mean it's a solution for all. I am commonly seeing this solution in threads about the rise of homelessness. Maybe the more strong willed or recently homeless have a better chance of employment. But for the majority, I bet it's not as easy as just applying for jobs. You'll probably also need a compassionate employer willing to look past the risks of hiring someone with complications. Here is a few articles on this issue: www.homelesshub.ca/about-homelessness/education-training-employment/employment#:~:text=Barriers%20to%20Employment,to%20prepare%20for%20job%20interviews soapboxie.com/social-issues/why-homeless-people-dont-just-get-a-job www.careerandrecovery.org/can-homeless-people-get-jobs/ This is also a small article on why people should consider hiring homeless people: www.rondpointdelitinerance.ca/blog/why-would-employer-hire-someone-who-homeless Try looking up jobs _for_ homeless people in Kelowna. Most results are for jobs to help homeless, not to necessarily employ them. There may be a few, but I don't see any obvious websites offering this at a glace. Also, just looking at the requirements for the jobs that do show up, it's probably not something many will meet. Try to have compassion and think critically about this complicated issue. Anger is justified for those who've been negatively affected by this crisis, but so is understanding. We are outside looking in. The more fortunate have the resources to work together and solve these issues for the better of everyone.
Its going to be ok. The Provincial NDP struck an arrangement with the Federal LPC to legalize small quantities of hard drugs. Thats gonna fix everything. /s
All the bearings and bearing races are fresh wuth under 1500 miles. That one driver side wheel has always been the problem child. Waiting for the new spindle still. I checked the wheel play jacked up off the ground before the trip and once mid trip to Washington also. Looking for a tiny bit of play 1-2 mm wheel movement as per hub instructions.
Thank you to ALL of tent cities sponsors, JUSTIN TRUDEAU, CHINA, BIDEN, THE CLINTONS, OBAMA'S, GEORGE SOROS, ALL ELECTED IN ALL THESE BEAUTIFUL CITIES. The massive list is long but too much to mention, thankyou all that we missed.
3:34 The problem isn't the "drug use". Certainly the living conditions promote idle time and boredom which encourage drug use but, the biggest problem is the safety of the residents, sanitation, and access to clean water and food. Its good to see that someone (perhaps the city) has put out many trash bins and a handful of port-a-potties - but this is not enough.
I have to agree the municipal people appear to provide recycling waste and washrooms and its neat and clean, nice to see there is still mutual respect for each other and the environment.

The wait here in Alberta for housing is over a year. Might need to bring my tent there. Too much immigration too fast. They cant build them fast enough.
Tent city is growing in every direction, every city, town... village and every where in between.
That must be a high income homeless neighborhood, premium real estate.
Sorry... forgot to say thank you for posting. I did 10 years living near Kelowna.
Let's Go! Let's Go!!Let's Go People!!!
Where is everyone? Asleep in their tents?
Not all of them, but a lot of them.
that is what the truth is
@@wishteria234How does that comment help?
I’ve got many libtard, virtue signalling, socialist work”friends” and family members. They are the same way, they virtue signal how much they care but if anyone ever crosses them, look out. They’re all contrarians as well, for example, I will say something about how much crime goes on around the homeless camps and they’ll put me in my place with a comment like, where’s your empathy or compassion. But if they ever become the victim of crime, then they go ballistic. Hypocrites, Godless liars.
There needs to be broad thinking on this subject. And deep respect for humanity.
Its almost like giving homeless people money and food makes them not have to do anything to change their situation
Pretty much.
Before the video started I got a Canadian Tire ad for tents and camping.
So many people in Kelowna with money so many without!
I put my tent up in the backyard and the city never supplied me with anything.
this was nice and clean. loved the trash cans and porta potties.. this is what ive been sayin for years that we need to do everywhere. out of all the homeless videos ive watched this is the only one ive seen where the people were helped with trash and porta potties.. i hope it spreads..
Next time you decide to park in the city make sure your rig looks like a tent,…oh right they only pick on people with money and it appears they’ll pick up the tent cities garbage no charge!
Lots of young travellers. Short term summer manpower for BC orchards. Nice weather. Not a bad idea
Lots of addiction and mental health issues actually. This is a year round situation
Are you living in the same world as the rest of us. Theses are thief’s and thugs addicted to the worse dope on the planet. This isn’t good.
BC has some of the best free camping!
Impressed with how clean it is. A lot easier to accept folks who are down on their luck living in a tent city when it's not a stinking trash heap.
What's going to happen come winter?
I think I’ll cancel my BC holiday this year
I live in downtown Vancouver is obviously quite bad but I didn't know the interior was so bad.
Good Job Govt of BC. Excellent! Nice Neighbourhood. At least there are garbage bins & porta potties.
But what about when winter comes to kelowna doesn't it get pretty cold there? They couldn't survive outside so I guess they move down to Vancouver or victoria?
Heee Heee Heee, so glad to see Marcel still out there exposing Truth , It's not funny but it makes me laugh with happiness that he cannot be deterred , I love it...
He's reporting this truth? Who's reporting this tent city as a lie?
Keep an eye on Edmonton, there 100% NDP with a Liberal mayor, You get what you vote for
"You will own nothing and be happier for it." ... Adolf Schwab, WEF
Interesting, many businesses complain no one applies for work. Government fixes nothing. People can.
Giving out more money will not solve this. Socialism is the cause.
Abolish income tax.
kelowna too? well there goes my plans.
Docent Truedoe,s Canada look wonderful.
How much does it cost to rent one?
Your not homeless your homefree! Saving thousands a month.
Your not poor your just all in, playing a tough game.
People would be surprised if you put 8 hours a day into providing for yourself food water and shelter you can live a chill life no stress or drama. It's can be great. Struggling with addiction in this situation just makes it more difficult.
Keep smiling so others see that camping 365 is possible. Its a great life when you set into a routine.
I like they have a place to go and they have trash cans available. Classy! Vancouver and Victoria should provide this to.
Stop comparing them to unicorns when they're just drug addicts.
You know what will solve this? One million migrants every year.
they even have garbage pick up , impressive ! toilets too , wow nice .
I will say one thing that it’s sad to see but it’s probably the cleanest one I have seen.
I'm going to start my own tent city in St Albert, Alberta, as I can no longer afford my rent. I'll have to save for a tent first, I haven't see any in the lical Goodwill recently.
In what part of kelowna is this located?
what's that,
booking dot tent?
Here is a few articles on this issue:

This is also a small article on why people should consider hiring homeless people:

Try looking up jobs _for_ homeless people in Kelowna.
This is tempting to just go camp there for 2 weeks and enjoy the Okanagan
That looks so fun. Eh! 😊❤
Unreal... 😢
How ironic there in a city with countless million dollar homes with 2 or 3 people living in them
Where are the people living there ?
Did you pull apart the rest of your trailer and redo the breaks and bearings on all the wheels?
All the bearings and bearing races are fresh wuth under 1500 miles. That one driver side wheel has always been the problem child. Waiting for the new spindle still. I checked the wheel play jacked up off the ground before the trip and once mid trip to Washington also. Looking for a tiny bit of play 1-2 mm wheel movement as per hub instructions.
Looks like a prezombie outbreak scene from Days' Gone😂seriously though!
thats sad and crazy, nothing like that years ago.
Give them no hope, make drugs and alcohol acceptable. Its called palliative care.
More people will be homeless living in tent cities and in their cars. Because housing is unaffordable even if you have a full time job.
Where do they go in winter?
Thank you to ALL of tent cities sponsors,
JUSTIN TRUDEAU, CHINA, BIDEN, THE CLINTONS, OBAMA'S, GEORGE SOROS, ALL ELECTED IN ALL THESE BEAUTIFUL CITIES. The massive list is long but too much to mention, thankyou all that we missed.
Yes, this is true. All elected people should have concerns over this. Nobody should be living like this
BS. This has been growing since the 70s. It was supercharged by Thatcher and Reagan. It's gone downhill from there.
Yes with home owners property taxes.
More like a Tentropolis than a city. Yikes 😬
