I am surprised, that the song is so old !!!! I always thought. that the version with Pat Boone was the original !!!!! I have Pat Boone in my playlist as well as on a cd !!!!! It is a great pop song !!!!!!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
@@tiga4180 Oh yah. Every so often I'm surprised that a popular song from my youth actually hearkens back to the 1920s, an example being Mama Cass singing "Dream a Little Dream of Me". As for Ruth Etting, love her recordings, but alas, this torch singer had a private life that reflected the pain of such sad songs.
Not a charm, but folks did write messages, sometimes of love, in that area of firm sand, kept wet by the ebb & flow of the tides. Have seen them to this day, on visits to coastal resorts.
Beautiful voice great 78 😄👍🎷🎹🎶
Found it at a record fair. So pleased you enjoyed, couldn't pass on this one!

This original version is excellent, yet I have to admit that Pat Boone totally nailed his cover of "Love Letters (in the Sand)".
Seems to by the one we all remember. Was surprised the song went back that far. Glad you enjoyed.

@@AnnieVanAuken On first hearing I recognised that it was old, but it was only when I got a laptop that I was able to turn up early recordings
