That's so amazing! They took the best qualities from Minecraft and Halo Reach and combined them together, Map making and zombies mode. I saw the videos about the zombies mode, and how you can play as the infected, this game is phenomenal for sure
I was a joy to see you experience the game naturally, you basically got the best possible way of being introduced to it lol. My cousins had this game downloaded on their Xbox 360 for the longest time. We didn't play it all that much, but when we did play i loved it, 4-player splitscreen was awesome. I bought it on Steam last year and i had a super fun time going back into it and seeing that there was still a community around it and that it was still being updated. I'm really looking forward to Murder Miners X. Fun fact, on special events like anniversaries for MM, they host lobbies on the Xbox 360 version for people who still have it downloaded! Would love to see that game with more players, I can totally see myself playing that for hours straight. Seems like there's so somewhat of a playerbase, there's definitely a good chance that with some effort that could be revived.
IKR, we can only hope with the new release of Murder Miners X. I did join the discord and it's somewhat active with a dozen or so people, and the fact that they're still posting dev logs for the new game is promising!
You have no idea how nostalgic I felt when I saw murder miners. Forgot all about this game. Was just watching an old XBLA video before this damn man lol
It's crazy how we all collectively fell in love with this. Even without ever playing this, I had this amazing sense of Nostalgia and longing for childhood games. They were just better
I love this game, got it on the xbox 360 community games store a long time ago and used to play it with my brother all the time. Used to make maps for the game and met a lot of old friends through a shared love for this game, haven't spoken to them in forever though and I hope they are doing well.
Holy shit thanks for the nostalgia wave i remember playing the shit out of this i remember this one youtuber tomatogaming made a few videos playing it and that's really what got me hooked at the time and it's cool to see someone get the corpse out of the grave to have one last look at it.
Me and my group of friends occasionally play this still. Even cooler when we get other random people joining our lobbies, cool to see other people playing this game
Long ago I made a hide and seek prop hunt map. I think It was actually very popular. I remember people starring like saving my map and hosting their own versions. It was awesome. Miss this game
murderminers was honestly one of my favorite games on the xbox360 indie games section, i probably dumped hundreds of hours of gameplay into it with my friends, just being a mix and halo just appealed so heavy to us... good memories, thank you for this
I loved playing this game with my brothers it was so fun we actually once got a full lobby, which is surprising it was back in like 2019-2018, maybe idk but we had the most fun btw we played with my dad's gfs kids best times of my life
That's true (gotta get a little clickbait title in there haha), but I am definitely looking forward to MMX, it'll be great to see what they provide new to the already epic game
This game was pretty insane for it's time, and still is. Map building with the miner gun is actually cool once you get the hang of how it works. The parkour mechanics make it so fun to jump/wall jump around maps. There are maps solely based on just parkour (some are pretty tricky, but well made). Infection mode is fun to play with others. It's like Zombie AI Horde except you can play as the zombie and use different abilities to kill surivors. The weapons are cool, too. The sword can also be charged up to thrust forward (which can insta kill others), and with the shotgun's secondary fire you can blend in with other blocks in your surroundings. For me personally, I can't wait for X to come out. This game was the best game I've bought during the Xbox 360 days.
I'm excited too! I wish I found this back in the day when I was playing with all my now lsot Xbox buddies. Super excited to showcase this for the MMX community, hopefully I get a lot more subs to expose them to a great community and game for the future :D
No shot! What are the odds! The one day, in a decade that this game has been out, that you decide to purchase the game and record a video, of this game that nobody has heard of, and can't possibly still be active. And then, out of the blue, after failing to join a lobby, you decide randomly to just host a public lobby, someone happens to be on the game, and just joins your game. Bro! I mean, what are the actual odds?! There's gotta be like, 30 zeroes after the decimal point before the first non-zero digit in them odds! A decade!!!
EXACTLY, I was genuinely so surprised! and then 2 others joined so maybe it wasn't as dead as I thought haha, Still such a nostalgic experience to have, really resonated with me :)
A little bit late- Just got recommended this video, but yes. This game was for a long time The XBLA #1 game. That with Castleminer Z (which is also on Steam, but is a different experience from what I remember, it used to be popular since it used Xbox Avatars while the steam version you use some SWAT looking models) Things I still remember: •Looking down while sprinting gives you that massive speed boost you saw. Colliding against a wall causes an explosion, and yes, you can run over players if they are in the way. •You can wall jump without the space block; it is basically pressing the jump button against the wall after jumping. Nothing really special but thought to point out. •Sticky grenades are used when you press the grenade throw button twice in quick succession. •The hookshot usually brings you straight to the point, but you lose momentum instantly once you reach the destination. Changing weapons halfway through lets you keep momentum so you can fly through the skies. •I only remember 2 weapons have special uses - Dunno the buttom. But the shotgun allowed to use cammo, this making a 3 block tall (or 2 block if crouching) pillar of the block you're standing on. It didn't make you invisible. And the assault riffle would increase the fire rate to an uncontrollable degree. Perhaps the heat seeking rocket was the special of the rocket. These things still live with me rent-free on my head 😂 but my goodness. This was definitely one of the best indie games on its prime. The community was great, with so many amazing maps, the best ones made by "TheLargestDog" if I recall correctly. They were huge and packed with references and highly recommend perhaps checking them out yourself.
OMG I needed you to teach me these things when I first played haha. Now hearing all of those epic mechanics, really makes me believe this is the perfect game. I wish it was still as popular, also wish the developers charged more for such a wonderful game (maybe they could hire more developers and get the sequel Murder Miners X out faster, it looks so good). AND YES, I just watched the wonderful tribute to TheLargestDog, such a wonderful story about an impactful, passionate person. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge, it was nice to read :)
i just saw the thumbnail and remembered when me and my friend found this on the xbox 360 store and bought it to see if it was good or another bad indie, fun times
I miss playing Murder Miners so much, it was such a well made game for how small in scope it was. People made so many creative maps and the zombies mode was always intense. I've been waiting for Murder Miners 2 to come out for so long, and each update the devs make can only keep me sated for so long ;w;
Bro it had the grapple hook way before halo it was wild playing this with a bunch of people. And you can change the helmet with the arrow keys above your character
I remember a friend told me to buy this on Xbox 360 and it was so worth it. I remember we would set the guns to infinite ammo and no reload and we would spam the shotguns to fly around. This game pretty much carried the indie store and it was the most fun ever. It bums me out seeing that it's pretty much dead now.
A friend of mine introduced me to this a few years ago. The parkour is INSANE! Check it out, it's so fun and unique! Lots of custom maps for it, too I hop on every now and again to check for servers. It's always fun to play around. Surprisongly active for being completely inactive lmao. A sequel game is actually in the works right now called MMX (Murder Miners X)
@MuffinManMLG i feel that i had both but castleminer z was definitely one game i put the most time in because of how crazy it was. You can see the reboot thing by googling castleminer z kickstarter
Used to play Murder Miners back in the Xbox 360 days. The game was worth the 250 Microsoft Points or however much it was back then XD. I'm pretty sure the Dev is making a new version of murder miners or making an update or something for it. Randomly came across it again on TikTok.
Yoooo cool to see someone else talk about this game! If yo want to play with other people, they host lobbies each week on their discord, and they're currently developing a sequel by the name of murder miners X
You watched the whole video? 🥲 But yes, I joined the discord and the community is beautiful, super excited about MMX now that I've seen some dev log videos
@MuffinManMLG fun fact, if you sprint and look straight down, you run really fast, and collision with other players damages them, another neat thing is that if you time a jump as you snap up a block you can carry the momentum from stepping up into your jump, they've made a ton of platforming maps from all the neat tech in the game
Damn I really missed out on the parkour aspect, I had put an hour into the game, I usually don’t go much longer than that for the video but when the 2nd game comes out, I’ll definitely touch on this, thank you!

You got to respect how much money he spends just for us
😂😂 I love this comment
10 years later and we have a sequel in the works.
YES! So excited!
@@MuffinManMLG Can't wait for this game to be more populated than Infinite lol
@@megaman37456 😂 so true
I have memories of playing this game online on the 360 when I was young but I thought it was a fever dream
YOU AINT DREAMING
Back in the good old days this game was the best
Back in the now bad days it's still pretty good 😂
Would love to see that game with more players, I can totally see myself playing that for hours straight.
@@MuffinManMLG Thats really good to see! Definitely gonna keep an eye on MMX then since that could be fairly interesting
You have no idea how nostalgic I felt when I saw murder miners. Forgot all about this game. Was just watching an old XBLA video before this damn man lol
:)
It's crazy how we all collectively fell in love with this. Even without ever playing this, I had this amazing sense of Nostalgia and longing for childhood games. They were just better
I'm glad you felt what I felt while playing :)
3:53 Probably a reference to the Halo 3 "believe" ad campaign, a real small but nice detail
I didn't even know, epic realization!
most underrated game on steam easily, still love mm
Definitely one of the most underrated, glad to have experienced it :)
I remember playing this a lot on Xbox Indie Games. Still has one of my favorite Zombies/Infections mode.
For sure, I think it's so cool that you can just make your own map to play zombies on
I love this game, got it on the xbox 360 community games store a long time ago and used to play it with my brother all the time.
:)
Me and my group of friends occasionally play this still. Even cooler when we get other random people joining our lobbies, cool to see other people playing this game
Damn, that sounds amazing! You all could hop into their discord, they still host weekly lobbies i believe (if you wanted a few more random people :)
used to play this game near nightly with the homies, love this shit
Apparently, they still host weekly events in the discord and it's still popping on the weekends!
So much nostalgia. I remember hopping on with my friends to just fuck around on split screen all the time.
This looks pretty decent actually. I might give it a whirl to see if I can find The Bruh.
This game was so hype between the wait for Halo 4.
YOO I REMEMBER MURDER MINERS :DDD
i used to play this shit with my family and cousins all the time, the memoriesss
Sounds like the best of times 😄
Its a shock to see this,
as I remember playing this way before B))
That's so awesome, I'm glad I could help you reminisce B)
Long ago I made a hide and seek prop hunt map. I think It was actually very popular. I remember people starring like saving my map and hosting their own versions. It was awesome. Miss this game
Damn that sounds so epic! You might have to do a remake for the new Murder Miners X coming out!
murderminers was honestly one of my favorite games on the xbox360 indie games section, i probably dumped hundreds of hours of gameplay into it with my friends, just being a mix and halo just appealed so heavy to us... good memories, thank you for this
also the fucking music sent me back into a part of my childhood i never thought i could possibly remember
Halo was peak gaming, I wish I found this game when I was younger! Music is such a strong nostalgia hit for sure :D
I loved playing this game with my brothers it was so fun we actually once got a full lobby, which is surprising it was back in like 2019-2018, maybe idk but we had the most fun btw we played with my dad's gfs kids best times of my life
I would say its pulse is very very weak... If you join their server it will help keep you updated on any available servers.
For sure! I saw they have an LFG channel and host events for others, pretty sweet
This brings back so many memories of me playing this with my friend on the 360
Literally if you play long enough tricat will come and judge you from out of bounds
Surprised you don't got a million subs! Keep it up my man. Enjoying the content.
*is less than five minutes into the video*
Keep it up!
Thank you so much, it truly means a lot :)
So many good times with my 360 friends playing this.
The game is still alive just a very small community and when murder miners x comes out it might be the next hell divers or even the halo killer!
That's true (gotta get a little clickbait title in there haha), but I am definitely looking forward to MMX, it'll be great to see what they provide new to the already epic game
Fucking love Murder Miners
Super excited to showcase this for the MMX community, hopefully I get a lot more subs to expose them to a great community and game for the future :D
one of my favourite games on 360
hurts me today knowing its so forgotten, but murder miners x will change that for sure
We need to see the bruh again
WE MUST!
@@MuffinManMLG I am envious. That is the sort of experience that will be remembered for a very long time.
Just hop on in an old game, I'm sure you'll feel the experience instantly :)
@@MuffinManMLG Oh yeah. I don't why that doesn't occur to me.
:)
A little bit late- Just got recommended this video, but yes.
This game was for a long time The XBLA #1 game. That with Castleminer Z (which is also on Steam, but is a different experience from what I remember, it used to be popular since it used Xbox Avatars while the steam version you use some SWAT looking models)
Things I still remember:
•Looking down while sprinting gives you that massive speed boost you saw.
I have been looking for this game for months as i used to play it all the time as a kid but couldn't remember the name, thank you so much
Ayyyye np :D
bro i played murder miners back on xbox 360 and even got it again on xbox sx i loved this game when i was younger and still do wish it would come back
THEY'RE MAKING A SEQUEL (Murder Miners X)!!!
Oh man, I played this a lot back in the Xbox 360 days. The devs are actually working on a sequel which looks pretty good.
YES, it does looks so good, the devlogs on their UA-cam (www.youtube.com/@JForceGames/videos) and you can see the improvement!
It is pretty funny that UA-cam says this is Minecraft. Pretty good find! 👍
I saw that 😂
That's one of those games that make you sad to know they may not even have a cult following.
It has a small community from what I’ve seen.
@@Real_Digiwigi Yeah, I noticed that after seeing the comments. I wrote this while watching the beginning of the video.
i just saw the thumbnail and remembered when me and my friend found this on the xbox 360 store and bought it to see if it was good or another bad indie, fun times
truly is the #1 rated xbox indie game
I miss playing Murder Miners so much, it was such a well made game for how small in scope it was. People made so many creative maps and the zombies mode was always intense.
I've been waiting for Murder Miners 2 to come out for so long, and each update the devs make can only keep me sated for so long ;w;
Yes, it’s the perfect combo of Minecraft and halo, I did see how the updating running animation looks so clean
Bro it had the grapple hook way before halo it was wild playing this with a bunch of people. And you can change the helmet with the arrow keys above your character
OMG I never knew! I was wondering why the other players had cooler helmets
That's epic, always wonderful to have a great memory, they are making a sequel called Murder Miners X (that's something to look forward to :)
@@MuffinManMLG yea I really hope some of the community comes back. Full zombies lobbies were awesome. Glad u were pleasantly surprised by the game
I hope this sparks revival in the game, this game is gen amazing
A friend of mine introduced me to this a few years ago. The parkour is INSANE! Check it out, it's so fun and unique! Lots of custom maps for it, too
I hop on every now and again to check for servers. It's always fun to play around. Surprisongly active for being completely inactive lmao.
A sequel game is actually in the works right now called MMX (Murder Miners X)
I'll definitely check it out when I play again! I never expected to find anybody on such an old game but yeah it is very active for being so old
Murder miners was childhood used to play it back in the glory days
The sequel comes out soon and it looks really promising
YES! I saw a few of the dev log videos, insane graphical improvements
@MuffinManMLG castleminer z is apparently getting a remaster or sequel of sorts aswell
@@Timingplanet bro…that is phenomenal news, castleminer Z is to me as murder miners is to everyone else in the comments
@MuffinManMLG i feel that i had both but castleminer z was definitely one game i put the most time in because of how crazy it was. You can see the reboot thing by googling castleminer z kickstarter
Sweet, I’ll check it out! 😁
murder miners is unironically really sick
this comment is unironically factual
Omg my childhood, look up what they've been working on for years
i love buying a dozen fifty cent games on steam trying them out and returning the ones with no redeemable qualities
That must be a thrill, I love doing the GOABs to see what amazing games I'm missing out on
Used to play Murder Miners back in the Xbox 360 days. The game was worth the 250 Microsoft Points or however much it was back then XD.
I'm pretty sure the Dev is making a new version of murder miners or making an update or something for it. Randomly came across it again on TikTok.
That's so awesome! 250 Microsoft Points is ludicrous for the amount of content, games were just made better and with more care back then
Yoooo cool to see someone else talk about this game! If yo want to play with other people, they host lobbies each week on their discord, and they're currently developing a sequel by the name of murder miners X
F commented before seeing that he saw the new one in development lol
You watched the whole video? 🥲
But yes, I joined the discord and the community is beautiful, super excited about MMX now that I've seen some dev log videos
@@MuffinManMLG I didn't even notice many of the games different mechanics before I played in the community games run by the discord with the Devs, very cool game and well made for live arcade era
The fact people joined on a 2014 game is crazy. You look into the X version after the recording? Game looks decent
IKR, that's why I was so flustered, can't believe random people would even be searching for a lobby. I did look at it, really cool that they post the dev logs for it :)
Fill is disabled because ppl would spam it and annoy everyone
That makes sense haha, crazy how this game has better building options than Minecraft
Holy FUCK I was not expecting to see this haha, so frickin cool seeing someone just freshly discovering this game, makes me wanna play it again
Oh man, it was so refreshing to even relive the graphics, truly a gem
I fucking love murder miners I really really want more people to play it again
i remember playing this game on my xbox 360 as a kid. I remember playing on a recreation of Hoth and a destroyed city, those are the two places that stand out to me in my memory
Those sound so epic hahaha, sounds like Halo's Valhalla
I remember this game being crazy popular especially with the brazillian minecraft youtubers, good times
The Brazilian Minecraft youtubers had some good taste in video games, this game is so amazing
I remember playing this way back in the day, I'm surprised it didn't come out before 2014, loved this game
btw this was very high on the Xbox live indie arcade, right up there with CastleMiner Z
Omg yeah, I should have mentioned in the video how much this reminded me of CastleMiner Z, I loved that game so so much. I wish I found this game back then as well
Another day, another dollar...
For old school Minecraft-Halo rip off with The Bruh, BlueBunny, and Shredder...
And the GOAB budget!
Another day, another epic comment from the GOAT
I FUCKING MISS MURDER MINERS
the childlike wonder of watching you play brought me back
That sounds fantastic :)
HOLY CRAP, I SAW MURDERMINERS SO MANY YEARS AGO AND NOW I'VE FINALLY FOUND IT
LETS GOOOab
