I have a new ballet term...” penche-besque”, and she does it better than anyone. I really appreciated her theatricality. I’ve watched her career from when she was very young. I knew she’d be a 💎.💕💕💯💯
What stands out for me Skylar, is how wrong I was about you dancing Swan Lake. You really kicked my ass. OUCH!!! Not only did you wrap yourself in the famous ballet with flawless techniques, glamour, elegance, and Élan, you penetrated the soul of the greatest ballet in history. The rough edges are just a few, like the lazy upstage Basques, which are a simple fix. Please tell Aran Bell not to be anxious and antsy pantsy in your balance section, HIS cue to come in is when you decide to penché. Simple. In your Odette section, play more with the brio of the bourees. The epaulment and arms are phenomenal. This debut in the Black Swan Pas de Deux is astonishing, beautifully designed and danced. Standing Ovation for You!!!BRAVISSIMO!!! I love it.
I am so very disappointed in skylar brandt and boca ballet theatre. I see that this performance occurred during the delta variant pandemic. I see the performers are wearing no masks, and some are obviously adolescent. I see that it is only now, in February 2022, that adolescents have access to vaccines. I have to sadly speculate on how many people were made ill, and perhaps died, in the production of this performance. I wish enlightenment to all those involved. I wish they would take better care of themselves, their families, and their students.
