@@MaxPowersTastyTones Hard to say, I hear a lot of overlap in the low and mid-range, but the Chug has a bit more high-end sizzle in what sounds like the 7-10khz range and a bit less bass which makes the NATAS sound thicker and more rounded as a result. If I had both, I get the impression I'd be rolling back the high end on the Chug and boosting the bass and doing the opposite on the NATAS.
Of course I have to say the Gehenna and TDW are my favorite, but the Natas sounds great too! Dude, you have to check out the Fleshrot V2 by This Heavy Earth as well. It is a vh140c pre with TONS of gain on tap, basically it's early Suffocation a box.
As I was searching distortion pedals, I finally found this and I spotted UAD Volt 476P which I also currently own. Beautiful and clean setup. Awesome demo which answered my doubts very clearly, dude. Keep it up!
Thanks a lot my friend! I‘m glad I could help. Really appreciate your kind words! Also check out my demo about the Driftwood Heavy Hatchet pedal, if you are looking for a distortion pedal! 🤘🏻☺️
Thanks a lot for watching, my friend! I also prefer a mid-heavy sound. As mentioned in the video the Gehenna is still one of my favorites and I love the throaty character of the TDW. :)
Awesome review and comparison! I personally use the Natas on my board, but always get curious to see what other Metal Distortion/Pre-Amp pedals are out there.
Yes your comment about the gehenna was absolutely spot on but the trade-off is it has a very beautiful lead tone a little more Fuller and not as thin. as it's been my experience with my High Gain pedals. If you haven't heard of Triton lab pedals you owe it to yourself to check them out. The Caravan and the devil's wine two of the best High Gain pedals I've ever tried. Finally the Gehenna in the right hands is as good as it gets. The tone is perfect
Sorry for the late reply and thanks a lot for your kind words. Really appreciate it! :-) I‘ve never tried the Triton stuff so far but I‘d love to for sure! And yes, The Gehenna is just something else! 🔥
@@MaxPowersTastyTones Triton lab Caravan is a Gehenna on steroids. But the Gehenna is the perfect pedal. I'm very happy to know of Triton lab, Most people have no clue.
GEHENNA and TDW more for live band use. Natas and Chug sounds good too but for live use the Gehenna and TDW seems more easy to dial. If the PA and audio equipment are bad in the venue you need a lot of tweak from Natas and Chug or it will pierce many audience ears.
Man, hard to say... but probably the TDW, but full disclosure, I got the pedal and I am in my honeymoon phase with it so I am a little bias. I have the Chug pedal, but there are days where I love it and days where I think it sounds like poop. The NATAS is a close second in this demo, I wouldn't mind trying it out someday.
I wanted to like the Gehenna or the TDW the most, because of their cool factor, but Natas sounds tonally much richer even through youtube. Too bad it looks the worst.
@@MaxPowersTastyTones Thank you too you for taking your time. On the other hand, the Gehenna is more dry/transparent sounding, and may be better for tweaking/EQ. It also looks totally rad.
This isn’t the best demo of the Gehenna and TDW but the Natas sounded awesome! The Gehenna and TDW sound ALOT better in almost every other demo I’ve heard. All comes down to how u have the settings and the IR can make or break the tone also. Not saying they sounded bad but not as good as they should
Nice comparison! Natas and Chug both sounded the best to me!
Thanks for watching! Which one was your number 1? The NATAS or the CHUG?

@@nisroch good call!
TDW is my favourite 😎👍
Good choice! And it’s hella versatile! Thanks for watching!
Awesome playing man! I’ve got the Gehenna so that’s my choice, but that Natas sounds sweet too
Thanks a lot! Much appreciated! The Gehenna is an awesome choice for sure!

Actually I will try the Fleshrot very soon I hope. I got one on the way! ☺️
@RequiemDead I have the snk pedals take on the vh140c distortion section and that thing also rips hard. Brilliant pedal.
Natas and Chug for me !
Good choice! :-)

Cool comparison! The TDW and Gehenna are quite a bit more midrange-y than the other two, which I liked. But obviously I'm biased, haha.

NATAS for the articulation and mid punch

That’s true. The NATAS and CHUG are very modern and scoop sounding.
chug before an mxr10band eq and infront of a bugera 1960 infinium . its extreme gold.
Sounds interesting 🔥
The Chug and the NATAS sound very similar. I think that with some tweaking someone could make them sound very similar. And the Chug is much cheaper.

I got that feeling with the Chug too sometime. The TDW is really good though, good choice!
Try the NATAS, when you have the chance! It‘s so much fun!
Out of curiosity, other than an Engle ir, what are you using on the opus for this demo? Thanks
The Opus uses a Vox AC preamp, a KT88 power amp and the ENGL IR :-)
Habe keine Ahnung und kein genaues Gehör, aber alles klingt gut!
Das ist ja auch ein großer Pluspunkt. Alle haben so ihre Spezialitäten. :)
