    Thank you for getting back to uploading! i’m a new subscriber from Poland, addicted to crazy amounts od codeine for 13 years, now I’m over a month clean thanks to buprenorphine. I’ve NEVER been able to stay clean longer than 3 days, not even when I was pregnant…twice… So I don’t care if some ppl say i’m not sober - I know I’m not lying, stealing, taking payday loans, pawning mine and my family’s jewelery… I’m finally able to breathe and just focus on life and my babies, not on how to get money and pills. Sorry for the life story ;) just wanted to introduce myself and tell you that there are people all over the world watching you and you’re really helpful. Keep up the videos :)!

      Thank you so much for your sweet comment! I am so happy to hear that my channel is helping you! I absolutely believe you are clean!! I think we have way to much judgement already and we should embrace those who are succeeding in recovery regardless of what their journey looks like. Congratulations on over a month!! That's amazing! Keep up the great work!! ☺💜💜💜

    Hey Jexi. I just found your channel today and already love your content so much! I'm currently in recovery (11 days clean today) and I just started going to NA meetings as well. I absolutely love how loving and welcoming everyone from NA has been and your content really reflects that same energy. I look forward to watching more of your videos :) Keep up the good work!

    In the fellowship I attended for over 25 years, there was a lot of predatory sexual behaviors mostly from men with "time" and some from women with "time". This happened occasionally with these male perps pulling in underage, young women. There was actually a murder suicide and later murder by a member who suspected his wife of cheating with another member. There was rampant ignorance, religiosity and stupidity expressed in the meetings. Also, there was theft of fellowship funds which got swept under the rug which another member and myself uncovered and exposed in our area's newsletter resulting in he and getting death threats from a couple of members. One of the thieves OD'd and the other moved away and came back to the fellowship expecting to be accepted. Since members have a high degree of criminality versus society in general, none of this is not surprising and when many seeking solutions for addiction come to meetings and they see this, they leave. NA will probably not become more user friendly and effective in eradicating addiction due to the conservatism at the world service level and the refusal to separate from the erroneous nature of AA. In the end, the program's effectiveness depends on the individual and most who come around find other solutions. The guy in the video has hit on the failure of NA for most. The success rate does not compare to people who get clean and stay clean or are able to practice moderation in their drug(including alcohol)usage. check out Dr Carl Hart ua-cam.com/video/M6PHC4p1Ohw/v-deo.htmlsi=S-KxFE1TRmCeUmh

      I appreciate you sharing your experience and your opinion hear. My strongest opinion about recovery in general is that a person should find what works for them. There are so few options around for those suffering, especially affordable options. NA is not perfect as it's run by individuals, who all have some type of issue with addiction or else they wouldn't be there. It makes sense that things would happen from time to time but overall it's been great to see the program survive and change as our understanding of addiction changes. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts here 💜

      @@AccordingtoJexi SMART Recovery is vastly superior to any of the 12 step programs. That it has not flourished and supplanted them as the preeminent fellowship-based self-help is a shame. I think it may be partly because the more rational approach that it represents tends to attract people with a more introverted personality type and that would be counterproductive for building a fellowship based on social interactions.

    Ok, the program of NA is entirely made up of what you choose to make it. The view point you choose to have of it, will dictate how you commit to your program. Unfortunately there are icky people in the program here and there. But there are icky people EVERYWHERE! This man supposedly spent 25 years CLEAN in the program and now he's gonna turn his back on the program? OK. Ya what exactly kind if resentment are u harboring because u did something that wasn't ok and it wasn't accepted? I just think its wrong for someone to misconstrue a program and it's entirety and potentially take away from someone's potential life living clean rather than over dosed and dead or in prison and with every relationship they have broken and damaged. What ever. I'm irritated just listening to his tone even. And yes to answer ur question at the end. My head hurts over this. And it's so hard to even listen to.

      @@AccordingtoJexi I am in awe of your patience and tolerance. I have come to a point in recovery that I recognize NA as a miracle from God. Not religious but very spiritual. What else in the existence of creation can bring together a bunch of manipulative, selfish,self centered, stubborn group of people,help them do what many couldn't do alone and help them to discover and new and better way to live. There is not one thing in the steps or traditions that contradicts the spiritual aspects of any major religion. To me any with an issue with NA should question is it the person or the program or is it me. There is a reason,as I have discovered,we place principals over personalities. Thank you for letting me share.

    • @waynek805

      @@quintina4799 OF COURSE the 12 step programs contradict the major monotheistic religions. AA and it's offshoots, including NA, talk about "God as we understood him". That is heretical idolatry. In reality, there is but one God, the God of Moses. All others are false idols. Furthermore, Christianity and Judaism teach that God grants us free agency to control our own lives on our own terms, for better or worse. God helps those who help themselves, and therefore, NOBODY is powerless over his/her addiction or any other self-destructive behavior.

    Who pays for these free services ? I'm soooooooooooo thankful they r free but where does the money come from to run it ?

    • @AccordingtoJexi
      @AccordingtoJexi  2 роки тому +1

      So programs like 12 step programs are run solely on donations from members. Members are encouraged to donate a dollar or 2 at every meeting they attend, if they are able. The programs aren't exactly expensive to run since each group covers it's own expenses. Those expenses usually are rent for the location, coffee, and literature. The books and pamphlets are printed at cost so they aren't super expensive for groups to purchase. I imagine most free programs are run on donations.

    How exactly is it a cult may I ask?? No one in NA, has to do anything they don't wanna do. No threats. No force. The courts may force you to go. But NA WILL NEVER FORCE YOU TO BE A MEMBER. You don't have to give ur money to it. You don't have to read the literature. You don't have to make a commitment to anything if u don't want to. There's no chosen religious beliefs like in a cult. There's no aspect to NA that matches the definition of a cult OR a religious organization of any kind. Ugh I get more frustrated every thought I have about this video.

    AA is not started by a religions cilt. 2 alcholics meet ans started to share, Guidlines, steeps and tratitions were made. It has saved millions of lifes.
    NA as well. Why put it out as negativ. The women making this, vidio should know better.
