I too watched this as a kid, from 6 to a teen. I am 23 now, and rewatched it again. Theres a lot of adult theme a child wouldn't understand. It is a very beautiful movie.
This song and The Pilot crying over the little prince’s body at the end brought me to tears when I watched it,beautiful little song, thank you,Lerner and Loewe
We all should see the world through the children's eyes. Important things are different to them. Beautiful film, so cute little actor!!! Loved it since I saw it for the first time!!!
Well, I have consciously kept that alive in me through adulthood and frankly most people really don't agree when they find out it demands the best of their responses, because most who endorse your view do so intellectually, knowing NOTHING of what that actually looks like.
I was lucky, I saw it when I was a child myself so I related to him, so now years later I still think as a child. The lesson I got out of it was Everything and everyone in the world is important, nothing is unimportant.
I have read the book but didn't know there was a film adaptation. But I was lucky to have seen Richard Kiley originate the role of Man of La Mancha in NYC, from many decades ago. That was where he immortalized "The Impossible Dream" for all time!
i love richard kiley and the child who played the little prince. Such a beautiful movie that I never tire of. Oh, to meet Stephen who played the little prince......I'd rather meet him than win the lottery. :You can't buy the things I love and the really important things in this old world.
Me too ! I would have loved to have a child as sweet, sensible, wise and pure as The Little Prince and that he / she kept their value system as grown-ups... Steven Warner retired as an a actor and is working for British Airways, what a loss for the stage and for the movies...
Beautiful, gorgeous song by Alan Jay Lerner (lyrics) and Fred Loewe (music). And Richard Kiley? What a great performance. Thank you so much for posting this touching video.
When my son was 5 my wife took him to spend 2 months with her sister, towards the end of the visit and missing them terribly I mistakenly watched this movie, after the age of 13 I think only 2 deaths and this dumb flick have made me cry.
@@georges_biscuit4083 Thing is, the prince didn’t belong to this cruel world. In his planet, all he had was a beautiful rose, and three volcanoes that were no higher than his knees. He was the prince of this little planet, not meant for any other place. When he came to Earth, our earth held him back. He missed his beloved rose and volcanoes, yet he could not get back to his Home courtesy to Earth holding him back. The only way for him to go home was to leave his body, the only drawback, behind. That’s why he requested his friend, the Snake, to help him.
@@mukherjeerumela I love the little prince and I have always wondered...If I'm not mistaken, at the end of the book the author says he couldn´t find the little prince's body so he thinks the little prince came back to his planet. So, did he die or not? I always feel sad when I read the book or watch the movie, and every time I read the book, I have new questions
I saw this when I was 10 years old and cried. Now I’m 55 years old and I’m crying again.
So am I.... Whenever I read the last two chapters of The Little Prince or watch this clip, I can't help but crying and I'm 62....
I''m with you... Saw the movie when I was 5... Now 43... Crying as well...

Richard Kiley has a beautiful voice
Never fails to drive me to tears. Wonderful music and Richard's voice brings out so much emotions to it. Thanks for sharing.
It is only with the heart one can truly see
...what is essential is invisible to the eye. (I had that quote hanging in my elementary school classroom - I taught 6th grade.)

i've never saw the movie, but love this scene. if it doesn't move you to tears you have no feelings.

A canção mais linda e triste 😭 ao mesmo tempo 😭 do filme musical o pequeno Príncipe 👑 (1974)
This is such a beautiful song. Loved seeing this movie as a child.
this song tears my heart out
Beautiful melody and so emotional
all the hopes and dreams I lived among

and young

Okay, I'm crying like never before now....
For all people that have lost a child
The little Princess's English accent sounds great far better than American English.
"Este corpo é só uma casca. O essencial..."
so SO good. heartbreaking
Me too! Never forgot it.
Thank you!
he wasn't meant for this world . . .
That's why he is a human from another world :'(
As heartless callous bastard i am this still gets to me
Maybe… maybe you’re not as heartless and callous as you think you are.
Religiously watching this every day
