Too me this is quite horrifying. In the second chapter, Mommy Long Legs is absolutely terrified about becoming one with the Prototype, but then there’s Catnap who willingly gives himself to the monster that Toys fear. My guess is that the Prototype manipulated Catnap to worship and help him, just like he helped Theodore’s attempt to escape. This is Catnap’s twisted way of thanking the Prototype.
i think not. catnap worships, indeed. but the prototype also likes catnap. when prototype saw catnap in a miserable state, he taunted his hands in a motion like to give scratches from chin, but he uses the body to (probably) upgrade himself.
I thought Catnap running away from the prototype is his way of saying sorry as he failed him and when the prototype rached his hand to Catnap, theodore thought it was to help him but it was just to kill him.
As much as people think that Catnap was betrayed, I feel like this was more like him sacrificing himself to the Prototype. The last thing Catnap could do for his God, his "hero," in a moment where he thought all hope was lost after he nearly burned to death, and then suddenly sees the hand reaching down to him like a God, the lighting even adding to it. Then, once Catnap realizes that it was finally time, he got on his knees and offered his body, letting Experiment-1006 take his flesh and skin to add to the Prototype's own body. Truly a twisted way to show just how much Theo worshiped his savior.
I can see it honestly go either way rn. Like I can definitely see CatNap willing give himself to his supposed God. But at the same time, after he was set on fire, he didn't seem that badly damaged. Like if he was beyond repair or something ya, than I could definitely see him sacrifice himself.
I don't know, he looks terrified from the prototype at first he backs away. Maybe he thought that prototype would save him again but got betrayed. In the other hand u could be right too. It's pretty complicated tbh
What makes this even MORE messed up is that Catnap essentially had the same "death" TWICE. He was electrocuted as a child and then again as Catnap. Only the first time the Prototype grabbed him and dropped him with the employees to get him medical care. (essentially why he worships him in the first place since he "saved him") He's dying again, sees the Prototype come in and beleives for one second that'll he be save again, only for it to kill him once and for all.
Well in CatNaps view The prototype saved him again, he would have never recovered from those injuries. he offered himself to his good, he was glad that the prototype took him out of his misery and that he will now be part of him
For anyone confused about The Prototype killing Catnap, it was a sacrifice. Usually toys are terrified of the monster like Mommy, but Catnap was a worshipper of the Prototype. When he saw the Prototypes Hand come down, he knew he had to do it. He had realised the beast he had become and had to sacrifice himself to his own God.

The Prototype didn't betray Catnap, not from Catnap's view at any rate. Watch Catnap's body language. He offered himself to his god. He was kneeling before him, offering his body to the Prototype. When the Prototype extended his hand, CatNap made a move that said: "Me? Yes! I am yours my lord!"

I’m not totally convinced he did sacrifice himself. Something about the way the scene went down, it makes me think he thought the Prototype was going to save him again and he was getting ready to think/praise him.

Even though we don’t truly know what The Prototype looks like (other than his arm with human bone), I’m excited to see what he looks like. I’m also excited to see where chapter 4 will go. Even The Prototypes voice in the VHS is really creepy. Even in Project Playtime, it’s hard to say exactly to if The Prototype is either the good or bad guy. My guess is that he’s an anti hero. What he does is what he thinks is right, when in reality, it isn’t the best. Even the hour of joy, is just a massive slaughter of people who were and weren’t involved with the suffering of the living toys, which won’t undo the damage that’s been done. Despite everything, The Prototype is making himself stronger with all the toys he’s absorbing into his body, but what exactly is his end goal? We know he has working organs, but he doesn’t eat to stay alive, perhaps what he’s doing, is that he’s making sure the toys don’t die, while giving them a chance without the need to eat? Either way, I’m wondering who The Prototype is gonna be, and where his character will go next. I imagine we’ll probably get 2 more chapters.

actually, once The Prototype impales CatNap, you can see some red stuff splattering from the back of his head. And as we know from DogDay's death, these larger animals have flesh. So I'm assuming that it could have been all the gas, his flesh, and the material of Catnap's skin that caught fire.

The way that CatNap worshipped The Prototype looks similar to Tzekel-Kan from The Road to El Dorado where both villains worshipping the overarching antagonist, yet get what they're not expecting and suffer in the end
That’s kind of flipped up because the prototype saved theodore and he saw the prototype as his god and he did what the prototype told him what to do and then when theodore aka catnap is asking the prototype to help kill the player in return for catnap he straight up kills him by stabbing him in the mouth and that’s just the ultimate betrayal right there
No he willingly gave up his body to his “god”. There is no betrayal. Hes On the brink of death (again) being burnt from the inside out. Prototypes hand comes to collect him. But Catnap like an obsessive worshiper, instead of cowering accepts its fate. kneels down to his god with open arms knowing what’s about to come next. Typical behavior to obsessive religious figures in media
Catnap: Was I a good boy? Prototype- Erm… Catnap- Can we go for walkies now? Prototype- Ok sure.. I’ll grab you then I’ll get the leash. “Proceeds to skewer Catnaps Insides”
I just LOVE the moment where catnap is scared by the hand only for the prototype to gently offer it, sure the prototype is a ultr manipulator who knew catnap was obsessed but make you wonder if it did care just a little bit since trying to help him escape as a kid, now knowing it was time to fuse instead of taking it he gave him a choice, with the lightening giving it a very holy moments and it feel like he was more offering then being betrayed, I love it
Before Catnap get up to worship and give in to The prototype. Prototype hand movement seem to be surprise and hasitate like it didn't expected him to do THAT in that kind of situation. (Compare to how Mommy react) Maybe The prototype really willing to help Theo but chose to kill him because it can cleary see that he didn't willing to be save and thought like "oh....anyway" stab stab
Also if he get betrayed instead of get instant one shot kill, he could have died in more brutally ways like get stab while still remain alive and feel the pain his "god" cause to him or maybe The prototype can just brutally grab his head and pull him up to somewhere else it want to take him while he scream in fear pain and suffer you know, the scene that we can see the feeling of betrayal slowly running into his mind in the last moment of his life
its crazy how theo/catnap died pretty much the same way that he almost died when he wasn't catnap but this time the prototype killed him instead of saving him
I'll be onest. I was suspected that Catnap were going to die in the end, because all the main villains in the other chapters were going to die close to the end of the chapter. But i would never though that were the Prototipe himself to kill him!
Catnap was hesitant to approach prototype as he failed him and when the prototype reached his hand out resembling a chin scratch, theodore falls for it and the prototype probally uses the body to strengthen his body, most likely the final boss of the game WILL be prototype.
@@piercelindenberg6842 It genuinely seemed like 1006 wanted to save Catnap at first, but the other gave in And Catnap is genuinely smart, it even wanted you rather to leave than be hunt down
I love that you can actually see a very solid internal logic to everything Catnap does despite only having two audible lines of dialogue, with or without knowing his true identity. The fire wounded him tremendously, too much to stand properly, and probably even burnt out whatever organ he uses to make his gas since you see him wheeze out ashes after the fire goes out. The only thing he really had to offer at that point was materials. To make himself part of his Wonderful god.
It’s funny because of their positioning when the Prototype looks like Michaelangelo’s the Creation of Adam. It also fits well with the whole Catnip viewing the Prototype as God thing
Can we say how strong the prototype is. He just jabbed through catnap’s mouth like cutting though butter and nice catnap has the gas feature juts image the all the gas systems in the mounts of catnap. The prototype is gonna be one badass for sure.
People saying it’s a betrayal but pay attention prototype offered a helping hand to cat nap and cat nap almost accepted but he denied it almost like he was saying “I failed you once I can’t do it again” and remember the toys have psychic link with prototype
I don’t feel like the prototype manipulated Theodore. Keep in mind that this kid was all alone and the prototype kept him company and encouraged him to sabatoge the company; the Prototype’s goal is to free the kids. When it and Theodore tried to escape and Theodore was electrocuted, the prototype genuinely cared for him by rescuing him instead of escaping by itself. Theodore’s final act was a sacrifice knowing he was going to die anyways.
I have no idea how something will be scarier than catnap, every time he showed up I was tense, the shape of him, the smile, the movement it’s all just so off
i find it odd that the prototype's hand first outstretches in a beckoning gesture, almost as if it's offering catnap salvation. it shows no hesitation to kill catnap, however.
ButTo Catnap that’s a blessing. Obsessive religious worshipers like this see being killed/tortured by their “god” as a win. It’s why he kneeled before him with open arms instead grabbing on. He knew he was about to snatched to be part of him like the others. But he worships him. So he willingly presented himself to her gloriously killed by the hand of god.
When the experiment appeared 1006 A nap cat was afraid of him at first, but he was still so loyal to him that he accepted the fact that he was going to kill him.
Idk why they talk about catnap *he is small boy* hes basicaly been hunting other creatures for so long hes basicaly a Predator bulid to kill and he didnt got betrayed by prototype he basicaly let prototype kill him... Also i think it would be cool if every main villain woukd return in chapter 4
I really like the ambiguity, if Catnap expected the prototype to pull him to safety or reward him for his efforts, or if Catnap was deliberately giving himself to the prototype to die. I think the clear 'Hand from heaven' subversion suggests the former, but the latter is a possibility.
Considering the shrine mockup of the prototype. Catnap knew exactly what was about to happen the moment the hand came down. Because he failed Catnap seemed scared at first of being punished by his lord. But when the hand opened softly, he knew it was an invitation from his god to join in his body like the others. And because he worships this god of creation, he willingly accepted his fate of merging with the body of “Christ” with open arms. Knowing it is a blessing to be killed by the hand the fed him.
To the people saying Catnap was betrayed let’s take a closer look. When the prototypes hand comes out it’s first in the form of reaching out or take my hand you can see catnap thinking and I’m guessing he thought he would be more useful if he became apart of the prototype. This when he sacrificed himself the prototypes hands slightly goes back as in stepping back surprise finally the prototype went with it killing catnap. Remember catnap and the prototype were friends and the prototype was willing to stay at the factory for catnap’s survival do I think catnap was betrayed no I think he offered himself up to the prototype. At the end of the day I still see the protagonist as the villain. You think about it these animals/humans were living down there in peace and we come and ruin it.
CatNap is a toy produced by Playtime Co., who debuted as the third antagonist of Poppy Playtime, serving as the main antagonist of Chapter 3: "Deep Sleep" and the secondary antagonist of the series. In 1990, a young orphan named Theodore Grambell was chosen to become Experiment 1188, the Bigger Bodies experiment title for CatNap. He was originally responsible for looking after the notorious Home Sweet Home, a Playcare facility that held child experiments captive. Experiment 1188 contained a non-lethal but potent version of Red Smoke in his respiratory system. During the creation of Experiment 1188, he went through two iterations before the final version was perfected. Following the rebellion of the victims of the Bigger Bodies Initiative, CatNap had set up shop within Playcare until the eventual return of The Player in 2005. With this return, CatNap was commanded to locate and defeat the player, recruiting a series of other monstrous experiments in Playcare in the process. Ultimately, CatNap fails to complete his objective; and during the final moments of Chapter 3, The Prototype reaches towards CatNap and slaughters him before snatching his lifeless body
Some say that catnap was offering his body to his savior seeing how much a monster he had become, others say going back to when catnap was a boy he got saved by the prototype now catnap thought he would be saved once again, but no the prototype killed him once and for all.
I like the irony that Catnap is burnt to near death by an electrified green hand when it was this very thing that turned him into Catnap when he was a child.
0:18 "For most of you, I believe there is peace and perhaps, warm. Waiting for you after the smoke clears. Although, for one of you. The darkest pit of Hell has opened to swallow you whole. So, don't keep the Devil waiting, old friend." -Henry Emily, Pizzeria Simulator.
I know that Catnap has been trying to kill the player the whole time, but when the prototype is about to kill him, Catnap just looks so innocent to me. So for some unknown reason I can't explain, I just feel bad for him 🤷🏾♂
I think he was willingly going to offer himself to the prototype. Granted; some say that he was betrayed, but from the looks of it, he was willing to let himself go to him. But then again, some say he was betrayed. I just think it’s all about perspective and views on the whole thing, but in my opinion, he’s sacrificing himself for his god!
For anyone that doesn’t know. Prototype didn’t betray him. Sence catnap failed he just gave himself up and sacrificed himself for prototype. So he knew and accepted the sacrifice and killed him.
The fact that he actually worships this prototype so much he decides to SACRIFICE himself to it is HORRIFYING. After theodore died and became catnap, my theory is that the prototype is the last thing it saw before it became CatNap and it worships it, as it is the last thing it remembers and believes it can give it a route back home. Remember, this is a young child who wants to go home. He slowly adapts to his new body and meets the other critters, whilst still holding on to the prototype he worships. He believes that he can make the other critters believe he can save them all, and the reason DogDay was the last of them is because CatNap just had so much sadness and rage inside of himself after he died and was forced to be in the body of a toy, he manipulated the other critters into thinking they needed to sacrifice themselves to the prototype to get home. DogDay refused, but CatNap didn’t quite like it, and with the sadness and rage I mentioned earlier, he ripped off DogDay’s lower half and gave it to the prototype. The belt is to keep DogDay suffering as it keeps his blood and organs inside, as it looks. He does say ‘this is what he does to heretics.’ In the cutscene where we see him chained up. The reason the critters ‘possess’ dogday is because they control his body to get us to die by the hands of the prototype. Remember that the characters (or critters) are now under control by the Prototype. It is most likely catnap saw dogday’s body after we left him to die, he realised something was off, that there was a human (the player) in the Playtime co. building and tracked it down, which is why we see him later on in the game. Once the human (player) defends catnap off and electrocutes him, he sees the prototype and decides that he should sacrifice himself now to be reunited with the people who loved him. Same as how the other critters were tricked to believing that they had to die by the hands of the prototype to get home again. He wasn’t afraid to die because of this. He happily offered his life to the prototype. The reason we see his smile go slightly wider after this happens is that he realises he can go back to the good old times and be with his family yet again. DogDay was also probably taken by the Prototype, along with the other smiling critters. Dogday’s collection by the prototype was most likely seen off-screen, as we don’t see him again after we go on the lift. TLDR: catnap believes the prototype can take him home so he manipulates the others into thinking it too but dogday refuses and gets attacked, that is why he is chained. Catnap dies with a smile because he thinks the prototype can reunite him with his family, as the others were tricked into believing too. (Holy shit, I went full-on MatPat mode.)
Poppy Playtime should end in Chapter 6. Chapter 4 would be slowly building up towards the ending of the story and the main monster is that spider looking hand that keeps taking every villain away, almost like it’s building something. Chapter 4 would end on a cliffhanger, Chapter 5 would end on a bad ending. Chapter 6 would be a 2 part Chapter. Part 1 is getting ready to kill the monster, Part 2 is eventually fighting the monster.
It looks like catnap is sacrificing himself, like in game theory’s last video on it “if you die, your body is still good for the cause” or something like that
The one thing I don’t like about the death scene is that it was a bit quick for a huge enemy we’ve been trying to fight for so long, but otherwise it’s actually pretty cool.
Too me this is quite horrifying.
For me it is more interesting what the players true identity is and what his true intentiones are.

"Boy c'mere you ain't tell daddy you played games on my phone"
Knowing it is a blessing to be killed by the hand the fed him.

the prototype: come with me child
To the people saying Catnap was betrayed let’s take a closer look. When the prototypes hand comes out it’s first in the form of reaching out or take my hand you can see catnap thinking and I’m guessing he thought he would be more useful if he became apart of the prototype. This when he sacrificed himself the prototypes hands slightly goes back as in stepping back surprise finally the prototype went with it killing catnap. Remember catnap and the prototype were friends and the prototype was willing to stay at the factory for catnap’s survival do I think catnap was betrayed no I think he offered himself up to the prototype. @@almightysmite🤡
Blue hand be like, I was the first I have seen……..everything

Although, for one of you.
The darkest pit of Hell has opened to swallow you whole.
So, don't keep the Devil waiting, old friend." -Henry Emily, Pizzeria Simulator.
I know that Catnap has been trying to kill the player the whole time, but when the prototype is about to kill him, Catnap just looks so innocent to me. So for some unknown reason I can't explain, I just feel bad for him 🤷🏾♂
Poor Green hand. He had so much memories with blue hand😢
