I agree perfectly with you! That's what i felt watching that scene, CatNap looked at 1006's hand and got in a praying position, as if offering himself, as he did that, 1006 sees his most loyal follower doesn't wish to be saved and give him a quick, painless death
It almost seemed to me like Catnap had outlived his usefulness, and was put down so his corpse could be put to use. It seems to me that Prototype has been watching all the monsters and the player the entire time, and it collects new parts once the powerful monsters are defeated. He didn't exactly like Catnap or anything, he just saw that Catnap was defeated and no longer had use, and Catnap was obedient enough to say "fair enough"

Interesting that all the deaths seem to be caused by some kind of flaw with the toys. Huggy: Can't grab on to the ledges or railing or stop his fall because of his hands. Mommy: One of her spindly limbs gets stuck in the gears. Delight: Can't stop moving and runs right into the door as it slams down on her. Catnap: His fur/the red smoke he emits causes the fire to spread across his body much faster.
I find it interesting how all the deaths at the end of each chapter feel like something as a one step ahead plan for the Prototype. As seeing each toy die reveals that the Prototype was using them as bait to continue to build its body.

Chapter 3 did a really good job of setting up the antagonist of the game as well as creating a VERY disturbing explanation for how your coworkers disappeared.

I really loved chapter 3, it was really worth the wait, but in my opinion CatNap as the main antagonist was underdone. Compared to Huggy and especially Mommy he had barely any proper fight despite all the hype
My issue is he never felt like a primary threat. He mostly either looked at you or ignored you entirely. Which doesn't make him feel like a proper threat. Huggy proves you can do both a silent antagonist and have him felt threatening. With most of chapter 1 portraying him like a predator stalking it's prey. Which I feel they could have done with catnap a little more. The section in home sweet home is what I feel he should have been like the whole chapter. Constantly stalking you with only minor glimpses of his appearance like him walking by a doorway or peaking through the doorframe like when you pick up the phone (that got me good). It just feels like he's barely present.
To all these people saying that catnap should have been present more I say this: unlike the other two bosses, catnap is acts with cat like characteristics. It waits and hides to attack instead of wanting to get you and chasing you the whole time.
I feel like they could ve made some more sequences where catnap messes with you to stop your progress rather than directly attacking you. He does it at the start where he throws you to the compactor and when he destroys the main generator but all of his appearances prior to the final encounter is just him being there without interacting
I love how the devs really intended you to be looking at miss delight during the chase scene so she stops but because of an unintended action you can get rid of her in the first 10 seconds of the chase and then just teleports in front of you at the last hallway
Mommy's death made me sad before, and it only got sadder as Chapter 3's ARG and tape highlighted how badly Marie Payne was treated by Playtime co. We have yet to meet the TRUE monsters of this place, and it ain't just the Prototype...
Mommy's death was the most terrible, while Dogday was the saddest. The mommy had her body and organs crushed by the crusher. And Dogday was eaten alive from the inside out, he had no control over his body, which is why he attacked us, he was being controlled by the Smilling Critters.
Most brutal to less brutal death: 1. Mommy Long Legs: Get her body grind 2. Dogday: Technically he's a good guy as he's nice enough to warn player about CatNap but he's already half of his body and then getting eaten brutally by Mini Smiling Critters 3. Miss Delight: Getting crushed by the door on the head also, her face is already broken 4. Catnap: Surrender himself to Prototype and getting stab by Prototype's hand through his head 5. Huggy Wuggy: We still have no idea if he's dead or not because we haven't seen how Prototype got his body. Also, back in Chapter 2, near the sewer, you can see his furs stuck on the wall and left the blood trails. Huggy is gonna be coming back but with more damaged on his head or will be part of Prototype.
what saddens me is these dolls are the souls of real children and they are trying to take revenge on the employees of this factory who tortured them with horrific experiments, unfortunately the player is one of them... sad thing indeed...

I feel like the prototype wanted to free catnap out of his misery. We were told that the prototype saved him when he was still a human child, after he failed to escape the factory. I feel like the prototype deeply regretted saving him back then because he was turned into a living toy afterwards, something that wouldn't happen if he had escaped or died as a human. At the very least he is at peace now.
I really doubt that, judging by all we know about the prototype, vhs included, he is not the one to have compassion for anything. In fact, it looks like all he wanted was catnap's body for his own. He is really smart and will only do whatever is best for his own interests
Catnap was the Prototype's best toy and slave because he had the chance to manipulate him since he was a child (Theodore was an easy victim because the Prototype was probably his only friend), because he made him believe that he is a God and he would save everyone. The Prototype created a monster who would do anything for him and adore him, even torturing the ones who don't believe in the Prototype being an "angel of salvation" (just like a lot of religions have done along history). Catnap was just a lonley kid who saw the Prototype as a hope, and the Prototype saw Theodore as an easy victim he could manipulate easily, so when Catnap was destroyed by someone weaker, the Prototype stopped seing Catnap as something useful for his plan so he betrayed him. And about Catnap, he thought his God, his friend and his Angel would save him once again, as the last time he was electrocuted (when he almost diez as Theodore) he saved him, but that didn't happen again and was killed by his own idol, after years of torturing his mates for not adoring the Prototype, so he probably regretted that before dying
Mommy's death is actually the most disturbing. Actually she's the most disturbing and unique caratcher of them all, and the one I took the most seriously. Chapter 2 was so good, so mysterious, the prototype just being announced, the way mommy talks, the paranormal and liminal atmosphere, the creepy sounds she makes, the epic chase scene, the animation. It's all just perfect, really

She gave off the same mentally unstable energy and insane personality as well as had a very long and scary in many parts chase scene. And she also dies by being crushed. My opinion on all deaths: Huggy Wuggy: (edited) bro got banished to the shadow realm 💀 Mommy Long Legs: I am glad they kept the version we have in game today, the original planned one was fricking gruesome. Bunzo, Huggies, and PJ: probably one of the most painful cuz they knew they were screwed when they failed to kill us. Miss Delight: pretty gruesome ngl, but probably didn’t feel pain due to it smashing her head quickly. DogDay: Most painful here, rest in peace gigachad CatNap: electrocuted, burned, and then allowed the Prototype to kill him, honestly idk what to say.
Also now we know that the prototype actually fuses the dead experiments with him, we finally know what mommy was talking about in chapter 2 about the “YOU’LL MAKE ME PART OF HIM!” part. She didnt want to be a part of the prototype.
I'm so sad about DogDay. We know he is innocent like other Smiling Critters who have been killed by CatNap. But in the same time I am happy because we didn't kill DogDay, but he probably died after escaping him. So even if he died, the player wasn't the reason of his death. I wish he was alive, but I'm afraid this is impossible. About CatNap... I hate him!!! I don't know what really happened to him in the past, but his death made me so excited. Because he betrayed his friends and in the end he didn't even help us to kill the Prototype, because Prototype wanted him to become his part and CatNap wasn't even afraid of this. Maybe you guys will say "You are too cruel", but I think CatNap deserved to be killed even if we will meet him again as a part of Prototype. He was the reason of this chaos in Playcare. And maybe CatNap and Prototype could not be villains. Idk maybe CatNap and Prototype lost Poppy's control and she tries to return them back by using the player. And if she returns them back, she will try to kill us and maybe she will be our final boss. There can be so many theories, but Poppy also can be our secret villain, because the title of the game includes her name. And that is really strange. We've watched "The hour of joy" and she didn't tell the most important information... WHY THAT HAS HAPPENED. She showed us how that's happened and then she said: "Prototype has to die... For this... For everything...". She wants us to think Prototype is our villain. She didn't have any proof Prototype is a real villain. Given there isnt alot of VA work in poppy playtime it often goes unoticed. But MLL's va was honestly really good at selling a painful and scared death so much so that the mic kinda blew up. Props.
Although Catnap was the villain of the story, even if he did terrible things for his "god", I couldn't help but feel sorry for his loss, after all he did all this for the prototype who saved him at the time only for him to be betrayed at the end of the chapter by the one he considered his savior. Catnap definitely became my favorite antagonist of Poppy Playtime, it doesn't matter that he was silent unlike Mommy Long Legs, he made quite a spectacle on and off stage. 😞✝🛐
I also think he was absolutely a child, who was easily manipulated. When you listen to his death it sounds like a 10 year old screaming in pain, and it just makes it so much worse to see how brutal he became, and how brutally he died.

Huggy's was still by far the most satisfying, especially considering that it's basically been confirmed that he is 100% dead. 🤣🤣 Mrs. Delight's I would say is a good second: boss fight was intense and the music slapped. Plus she killed the kids, so killing her was an added plus. Mommy's follows close behind. Then CatNap's brings up the rear. I wanted to kill him myself, not for the Prototype to do it. 😭

I find it interesting how all the deaths at the end of each chapter feel like something as a one step ahead plan for the Prototype. As seeing each toy die reveals that the Prototype was using them as bait to continue to build its body.

I really loved chapter 3, it was really worth the wait, but in my opinion CatNap as the main antagonist was underdone. Compared to Huggy and especially Mommy he had barely any proper fight despite all the hype
My issue is he never felt like a primary threat. He mostly either looked at you or ignored you entirely. Which doesn't make him feel like a proper threat. Huggy proves you can do both a silent antagonist and have him felt threatening. With most of chapter 1 portraying him like a predator stalking it's prey. Which I feel they could have done with catnap a little more. The section in home sweet home is what I feel he should have been like the whole chapter. Constantly stalking you with only minor glimpses of his appearance like him walking by a doorway or peaking through the doorframe like when you pick up the phone (that got me good). It just feels like he's barely present.

To all these people saying that catnap should have been present more I say this: unlike the other two bosses, catnap is acts with cat like characteristics. It waits and hides to attack instead of wanting to get you and chasing you the whole time.
I feel like they could ve made some more sequences where catnap messes with you to stop your progress rather than directly attacking you. He does it at the start where he throws you to the compactor and when he destroys the main generator but all of his appearances prior to the final encounter is just him being there without interacting

Mommy's death was the most terrible, while Dogday was the saddest. The mommy had her body and organs crushed by the crusher. And Dogday was eaten alive from the inside out, he had no control over his body, which is why he attacked us, he was being controlled by the Smilling Critters.
Most brutal to less brutal death:
1. Mommy Long Legs: Get her body grind
2. Dogday: Technically he's a good guy as he's nice enough to warn player about CatNap but he's already half of his body and then getting eaten brutally by Mini Smiling Critters
3. Miss Delight: Getting crushed by the door on the head also, her face is already broken
4. Catnap: Surrender himself to Prototype and getting stab by Prototype's hand through his head
5. Huggy Wuggy: We still have no idea if he's dead or not because we haven't seen how Prototype got his body. Also, back in Chapter 2, near the sewer, you can see his furs stuck on the wall and left the blood trails. Huggy is gonna be coming back but with more damaged on his head or will be part of Prototype.

I feel like the prototype wanted to free catnap out of his misery. We were told that the prototype saved him when he was still a human child, after he failed to escape the factory. I feel like the prototype deeply regretted saving him back then because he was turned into a living toy afterwards, something that wouldn't happen if he had escaped or died as a human. At the very least he is at peace now.
I really doubt that, judging by all we know about the prototype, vhs included, he is not the one to have compassion for anything. In fact, it looks like all he wanted was catnap's body for his own. He is really smart and will only do whatever is best for his own interests
Catnap was the Prototype's best toy and slave because he had the chance to manipulate him since he was a child (Theodore was an easy victim because the Prototype was probably his only friend), because he made him believe that he is a God and he would save everyone. The Prototype created a monster who would do anything for him and adore him, even torturing the ones who don't believe in the Prototype being an "angel of salvation" (just like a lot of religions have done along history). Catnap was just a lonley kid who saw the Prototype as a hope, and the Prototype saw Theodore as an easy victim he could manipulate easily, so when Catnap was destroyed by someone weaker, the Prototype stopped seing Catnap as something useful for his plan so he betrayed him. And about Catnap, he thought his God, his friend and his Angel would save him once again, as the last time he was electrocuted (when he almost diez as Theodore) he saved him, but that didn't happen again and was killed by his own idol, after years of torturing his mates for not adoring the Prototype, so he probably regretted that before dying

Mommy's death is actually the most disturbing. Actually she's the most disturbing and unique caratcher of them all, and the one I took the most seriously. Chapter 2 was so good, so mysterious, the prototype just being announced, the way mommy talks, the paranormal and liminal atmosphere, the creepy sounds she makes, the epic chase scene, the animation. Given there isnt alot of VA work in poppy playtime it often goes unoticed. But MLL's va was honestly really good at selling a painful and scared death so much so that the mic kinda blew up. Props.
The VA for Poppy is actually one of the more popular English voice actors in English anime.
Although Catnap was the villain of the story, even if he did terrible things for his "god", I couldn't help but feel sorry for his loss, after all he did all this for the prototype who saved him at the time only for him to be betrayed at the end of the chapter by the one he considered his savior. Catnap definitely became my favorite antagonist of Poppy Playtime, it doesn't matter that he was silent unlike Mommy Long Legs, he made quite a spectacle on and off stage. 😞✝🛐

bro tbh seeing mommy longlegs abdomin being shredded is horrifying to me for a few reasons.
1: bc that's where most of the bugs/spiders organs are held so imagine of you entire lower half of yourself was being shredded and basically your stomach popped open
2: the sound effects rly hit me with her screams
3: it really sounds like mommy didn't ac work for the prototype, though I'm not sure why shes attacking the player. because when she was dying she really sounded like she didint want to be a part of him or help him in any way...

Comic Bunzo: starved to death in a pit, potentially killed by CatNap.
CatNap: electrocuted, burnt, and impaled through the head by the Prototype, then assimilated.
DogDay: eaten alive by the MinI Critters.
Other Main Critters: either killed by CatNap or eaten by the Mini Critters.
Mini Bunzo: poisoned by CatNap's gas.

Miss Delight: crushed to death by a metal door.
Delight's Sisters: killed and eaten by Delight, or each other.

Mrs. Delight's I would say is a good second: boss fight was intense and the music slapped. Plus she killed the kids, so killing her was an added plus. Mommy's follows close behind. Then CatNap's brings up the rear. I wanted to kill him myself, not for the Prototype to do it. 😭
