Glad to see the Gilliam training arc is already going well, even if its at the expense of some other lads. Next chapter has quite a lot going on so hopefully he can continue pulling his weight. Free dracoshield is super nice tho (Great work recruiting Artur btw, never had a doubt)
Super interested to see if Gilliam pans out, I totally ignored him in my no damage run in favor of boosting Seth and hoping for defense levels I that didn't get. If you ever need a kindred spirit to pat you on the back for subjecting yourself to Ch 5x on one HP, wail incomprehensibly out of an open window. I'll hear you, then show up within 5 to 7 business days to deliver you a platter of homemade cookies.
I think he'll be pretty useful against the weaker generics, but anybunit with actual muscles is gonna make him useless and ill have to fallback on dodgetanking Hahaha, I appreciate the emotional support. Chapter 5x is gonna be a rough one 😅
Normally you should promote Gilliam to a great knight for mobility, but his naturally high defense growth could help him cap defense, but for great knight the defense cap isn't enough for most promoted enemies. General also has the chance for pavise so it is probably the better choice for this play through. (Also another great vid man!)
The defense cap difference is uhh 1 point, so its not the biggest deal, especially since promoted enemies don't have stats on Normal (not even being hyperbolic they have like class bases lol). The bigger boon tbh is just the slightly better promo gains, notably the speed (for doubling some things) and Res (I know he isnt much of a mage killer but it could end up saving him against weaker magic attacks). General is unfortunately too heavy to rescue for anyone except unpromoted Franz/Forde, which means he's kinda screwed if he's out of position or needs to be somewhere quick. Still interesting to think about.
I'm actually getting quite invested in this! I'm guessing that the future Talisman is gonna go one if the light magic users to be able to take 0 damage from the magic using monsters? Since you seem to be doing well enough on the defense side.
Someone definitely has to step up as the mage killer for this run, especially since the Pure Waters weren't grabbed and they aren't buyable for a while. Artur's prolly the best candidate to be that, considering the staffers don't really have much to do. That Tailsman definitely would be good for him in case he gets a bit unlucky. Until then, Seth can at least OHKO mages no problem (especially on Normal), so it shouldn't be too much of a pain for now.
Yeah I agree with you both, I think Seth has got it sorted for a while, but hopefully Artur will become the unit that can take 0 damage from magic for the mid/late game
Gonna be rough for sure, especially since you need to visit all the villages to get a Guiding Ring. The dracoshield in the bottom village is really nice though, Seth could probably tank every enemy (except maybe the boss?) if someone gets it for him. Not a lot of exp left for the other lads unfortunately, but Seth might just have to do his thing anyway lol.
I was also thinking about how tough the fog of war chapters are gonna be, but then i remembered how enemy phase heavy ephraims chapter is Its a shame to rely on Orson but i guess you gotta do what you gotta do
@@BadAtFireEmblem Those games all have a minimum damage of 1, meaning using a tanky unit to take 0 damage isn't possible. You'd have to rely 100% on avoid to make it through.
@@Sethg98 ah cheers for explaining. Tbf I think the second half of the game is gonna have a lot of enemies with damage too high to tank and avoid will become more important
Very good question. I'm having the same dilemma with that as I am about promotion items giving hp. I can't decide if I just let them get the bonus hp, or if that's not in the spirit of the challenge and I hard cap everyone at 1hp
@@BadAtFireEmblem imo, based of Excelblums STR challenge allowing promotion bonuses and Energy Rings, I think it's perfectly fine to allow base game Angelic Robes and promotion health After all, the idea is you started with 1 HP, and promotion bonuses aren't going to do much for you 👀💦
Healers having things to heal is a neat bonus (Moulder redemption???) If anything, for the Robes at least, they could just be held onto until they're needed for whatever reason
I love this series, your delivery and the story you're building are both great
Glad you're enjoying the series, thanks for the support :)

I'm enjoying using him :) next chapter is gonna be trickier for sure, Joshua's recruitment is almost as hard as Arthur's 😅

I did think about this and I agree general is better, but such a suckrr for high move so I'm still tempted by great knight 😅 thanks a lot crab

Love seeing this series continue! Do you know if you’re gonna go Erika route or Ephraim route for the play through yet?
Thanks, I appreciate that :) I haven't actually decided yet, I was gonna ask viewers for their opinions nearer the time
Ghost Ship goes brrrr
Nice video 👍🏻
yay you’re back ❤

Id argue the next chapter is one of the harder ones in a base playthrough so i dont know how youre gonna do this
