And for me I don't promote as it doesn't work for me. But to all each their own.

GAME CHANGER. I'm a top seller in two categories in particular, so knowing what the other 10% pays in promotions allows me to redirect those promo dollars to Google Adwords, Promoted advanced, influencer promoted posts, etc...thanks!

Superior content, Jon. It is interesting that within my niche, the LQR states 8% PL for the top 10% and 6% PL for the bottom 10%.
But in their conference call, eBay mentioned that 16% of sellers use PL. So how is anyone who is promoting at 6% landing at the bottom? The 6%ers should still be better off than the 5 out of 6 sellers who do nothing with PL.
I never understood this data in this respect. I’m reading it the same way as you are, but I’m not sure we’re reading it correctly. Of course, nobody at eBay is around to clarify this question.
I don’t promote at all, and among 38,000 sellers, I’m 24 in GMV, 12 in click-thru, and 12 in conversion. When I try a PL experiment, I never see an improvement. It’s possible that I’m already a 10/10 to the algorithm, so PL is just wasteful in my case.
Again, I just make my best guess.

Tough to say because I know for a fact there are those who promote at 2% because they feel as if they have to so where are they at in this report? I think it is still in beta and there are thing’s that are incorrect. For instance they have me at 47% free shipping on my golf clubs. I don’t have one for sale with free shipping.

I sell part-time but work on listing several hours a week. I have never promoted my listings and do not plan to. I still sell my items so it makes me wonder if sellers who do promote really benefit or if they’re just giving their money to eBay. Just saying…

Great nuggets! I find the insight into the competition's promotion percentage settings very interesting. How do those numbers compare to Ebay's recommended promotion setting? I still don't have this report :(

Never use eBay recommended promoted rates. In my opinion they are a way to trick you into promoting to high. Go into the LQR, select the category tab your are interested in then scroll to the right. You want to be promoting at a higher rate than the average seller in the top 10% of that category. I would say by a percentage or two.

I still don't see the listing quality report on my performance summary tab.

Thanks! I've looked at the report before but never noticed the info scrolling right from the funnel.

Comparing my report to yours I don't have a column documenting "Promoted Listings Ad Rate"

That’s odd. But not surprising since I saw quite a few errors on the report which may be why it’s not rolled out for everyone until they fix these issues.
