"The OA Flashmob" Five Movements in front of Trump International Hotel NYC

- What started out as an idea amongst friends became a reality. We were obsessed with the Netflix show "The OA" and it's use of movement to open new dimensions, and thought, "What if we did these movements in front of a Trump building? Would the power of the Five Movements work to protect us all from the darker forces at work in our country and the world?"
So Jess learned the movements as best she could from samplings of online videos. Ashley and Eduardo put their activism in action. We gathered a big group of people who were down to learn the movements with us and do them, flashmob style, in front of the Trump Hotel.
Magically, Wes Veldink got word of the flashmob and offered to support us in perfecting the movements. (For those of you don't know Wes and his choreography, he was Associate Choreographer to Ryan Heffington who's responsible for creating these movements, and he worked directly with the actors on the show.)
It was all a dream come true.
And it seems like the world needs more of these, so....
Who's in for the next one?

The original scene from "The OA" made me cry back then and watching this and the message behind it makes me think about the little things with a huge impact. People are talking trash about this performance but they don't realize that this is the exact same thing as watching a protest. Thank you to ALL the people involved. I read an article that says The OA's cancellation maybe part of the show, since The OA is now Brit and Hap is Jason... meaning the characters are now in our dimension and they are just playing their parts.

I get goosebumps & weep every time I watch the 5 movements. Yes, it is a series of movements put together by a choreographer, and aired on a TV show. But the intense emotion behind bodies moving in silence & synchronicity, that is something that's lost on most people. Beautiful & brilliant.

Ryan Heffington was the choreographer. He's also done most of Sia's videos amongst other things. :)
This is an example of a “fictional” magic system evolving into something that can cause real change in the world. From Placebo Effect to Experimenter Effect, human intention impacting physical world well documented. Movements remind of Gurdjieff, also Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms shamanic dance style. The energy of this event is palpable.

how did you feel about the first season as opposed to the second season? i’ve seen the show since it first came out in 2016, waited 2 and a half years for season two. i’ve never felt more connected to anything i’ve seen on screen in my entire life

@@Jody-LeeMcClelland Each movement was given to 5 people who experienced NDE (near death experience) in the series. These moves are special because combined, you could jump into the next life. That's if you follow the series. At first, I thought the moves would bring you closer to the maker of man. But I guess in season 2, they did a 180 and went with dimension hopping. But you got to watch the series to actually know what each moves mean and why the last snake fang movement was important. It was the last movement that the main character acquired which allowed her to see past life itself.

I just recently discovered the show, and it's amazing to see how this show has touched people. It's a very well written, acted, and produced show. I hope they get to do all five seasons.

I tried to show my gf the oa but she wasn’t that interested in the first few episodes. But this show has a deep meaning to me that I want her to see and feel. I showed her this video and she was laughing but I just feel this huge emotional connection to it. And she saw that in me. Now she says she’s down to watch it 🥲

I watched the series and didn't like it very much. But there is something about these moves that touches my heart and makes my cry whenever I see it. I will learn it to perform whenever I struggle or feel lost.

I think that's the power of the show: it places emphasis on belief, and believing in something so strongly that it doesn't matter how the world perceives you, for everything is finite and temporary.
The music they used in the series was so expressive and perfect as well. I get goosebumps hearing it.

Except they are not just making it about compassion. They are making it about Trump being the dark force. Why not just make it simple dark vs light or other good things, like compassion? Instead they are assuming everyone agrees who the bad guys are. Better yet, leave it in the TV show for the show to define it. What we do with it personally is our own choice. I think it's great in the show. Movement with pure intention having a powerful effect. Making it political just doesn't do it for me.

I feel so stupid.. I Instantly wanted to cry... I think its the hope and belief that the OA could ever be real.. who knows. When they stood up to that school shooter I was practically jumping up and down screaming "go bba, go guys, get him" I suppose we all want to believe in something. This just touched me. When I first saw this performance on the show OA during the school shooting, I got goosebumps throughout my entire body!! I'll never forget that..
What a wonderful, and truly beautiful show of self expression. Such a heartfelt message and emotional delivery. This literally brought me to tears, especially the end. A meaningful homage to an incredible show. Sending love to you all! I just watched the OA season 1and 2 and was upset it was cancelled. This was one of the most brilliant shows i have seen, i literally binged watched the two seasons in two days. Why would they cancel such a brilliant show? we need at least another season to wrap up the story.
