Yeah, I like symphonic elements in metal, and her singing style. Plenty of transitions in the song which I love, keeps the song interesting. Also liked the big drums (kettle drum or what, can't really tell about drums) taking the main role for a short time: thing one rarely hears in a metal song. Glad that they have another very nice song.
From Wikipedia: "In Norse and Celtic mythology, selkies or selkie folk meaning "seal folk" are mythological beings capable of therianthropy, changing from seal to human form by shedding their skin." She sang about sealskins there, interesting stories in their songs. So far I've heard a couple of other songs from Blackbriar and I was hoping to hear more energetic songs from them, so I'm satisfied.
I adore blackbriar. They did a collab with Ulli Perhonen of Snow White Blood (rose red snow white); Snow White Blood have their own selkie inspired song: Longing for the Sea, excellent symphonic metal
It is an amazing song and video, one of my favourites. Blackbriar are an incredible band, Zora as you have said is such a unique singer and I am proud to be one of her patrons. They are doing it by themselves which is admirable and fully deserve all the support you can give them. I was part of the crowd-funding and also ordered the album on Cd which I know is probably going to end up my album of the year. Blackbriar are an incredibly friendly band, very down to earth and really love their fans🤘
@@DanCobbs73 we certainly are! They're doing so much us, photos, infos, sneak peaks... And it's super cool that they ask us about our opinions and wishes as well.
Well Stormy, you are passionate with this band hah,you smiling all the time,i know that you like this band very much. The song from the start was little boring 🤣 to me till the middle, suddenly the sound became more interesting, the instruments took place and the beautiful song begun 😊 and didn't wanted to stop. Yes finally is a very good song, her voice is unique as you said and the video was fantastic, the story must be tragic and sad i didn't see the lyrics yet but the images and the song together was a magic. I do i like the previous songs and maybe i will preorder the album. But was a happy reaction Stormy, hah See you next!!!
@@timothybogaert6189 I have find it,thank you very much for the information. Yes the song is a love song with no happy ending, certainly Blackbriar is a very good band, her voice fixed very well with mystery and darker songs and i love the animated videos very much. I believe that the first album will has a great success, they have many fans already. I had listened some songs from the past but didn't like so much then, probably i wasn't ready for their music. But certainly the new songs are fantastic to me now and i want to support the band.
@@stasa-X You're welcome. The voice is amazing indeed. The group does all by itself, no big compagny behind it. Is rare these days. They have a fanpage on facebook: deadly nightshade: the blackbriar facebook fan group. There i found the reaction of stormchild.
Hello!! I agree that nowadays it is little difficult to find a band that becomes so "important" to you that you just love everything they do and that you really feel in you heart😌.. It is because there is SO many of those bands today and you ran into new band so often. Maybe that's why only one band doesn't keep you interested🤔.. I'm glad if you have found this band that does it to you😅. I'm not sure do I have that kind of band at the moment🤔🤔.. Perhaps "Bloodred Hourglass" could be counted as one for me😅.. I'll be surprised if they'll not be most listening band for me this year😅.. Anyway, this video☝️ I think this was the most emotional song I've heard by them🤔.. Very beautiful and in a way I think this was now my favourite by them😊.. Yes, it was pretty theatrical again, especially with those verses and with those things that Zora does with her voice (that up'n down up',n down☝️, not any idea how to describe it in english😂).. But that middle part..🤔... hmmm. with little bit medieval melody in a way was very nice and overall that part was almost POPish already and that I loved👌.. But those parts with powerful instrumentals👌🤘... One word☝️.. GREAT!! I think it was now the first time that I had goosebumbs with this band and everything worked perfectly together, the rythm, the voice, the music🤘.. I agree, this was a bit different that they have done before and not nearly as theatrical as their older songs and I think that's the reason why this was also my favourite😅... So I really have to believe it☝️, there is definetily a pattern that I talked about earlier too, how I have liked these newer songs a lot more than the older ones and I will definetily listen the whole album atleast on Spotify, and who knows☝️, if I like it as much as I think I do, I might as well order the CD too😅 Great song🤘 Thanks, catch you later👍
