- Reuploading these commercials because a lot of accounts that uploaded them have gotten terminated. These are all the ones I could find (probably not a complete collection.)
00:16 - E3 Promos
01:05 - Launch Ad
01:36 - Sonic Adventure ad
02:06 - Crazy Taxi ad
02:37 - Space Channel 5 ad
03:07 - Soul Calibur ad
03:38 - NFL 2K ad
04:09 - NBA 2K ad
I honestly love the first three commercials. It sends me the chills through out my body. I also love it how Sega tried compering the Dreamcast power to an powerful A.I. component.
I can see why you liked them. Though if I were 10 and saw that, I think I would be too scared to learn anything more about it, y'know? Kinda alienates a huge demographic for sega
The Dreamcast actually did introduce very basic, and compared to today, very unsophisticated AI. There was a shift in the way NPCs figured out what the player was trying to do - in essence, if the game utilized AI then the same moves against it wouldn’t work twice. I have no idea which games utilized the AI though.
The system very likely could have supported neural network based A.I., since its pretty much the first console able to crunch lots of floating point numbers, thanks to its modern style graphics hardware.
@@ninjacat230 I really wish I could find more information about it. I read an interview with the ad agency in charge of the It's Thinking campaign and they decided to lean into the AI aspect because the 56k modem, ehm, wasn't as impressive as it should have been. But post launch you never heard anything about the AI again.
@louiscolangelo2082 The launch was record breaking success so I'd say they took the right path.
It's thinking out loud, the Dreamcast was loaded with fun games but the console itself was noisy
China World Expat
I had a Dreamcast but I had an N64
A lot of disc based consoles are pretty noisy, nobody really cared that much either until the last decade or so.
Noisy, you wanna her my jet engine PS4 Pro, just fired my Dreamcast up after nearly 10 years, wish to god my PS4 Pro was as quiet lmao
@@awesomeavesome5734 My Dreamcast reads discs kinda loudly but my old 360 was a demonnn
😅😂
MCU: the greatest crossover in movie history
Dreamcast: it's thinking...
Happy 20th anniversary to one of the best consoles ever made 👍
Well guess what, Sega of Japan has announced that they are going to make Sega dreamcast mini.
"Yo Sonic. Sonic! Man stay off the light speed".."My bad" ahahaaha
Dang, I miss the Dreamcast days
"Don't think out loud, it might hear you." Sega was trying to warn us about smartphones.
This ad campaign reminds me of CN City.
I think im scared of my dreamcast now.....
I'm thinking of smashing mine with a baseball bat so it stops thinking too much!
Why
Im not scared

If SEGA would've been thinking about DVD playback, we'd probably still be playing SEGA.
They wanted to, but it costed way too much back then (1998 in Japan, 1999 US/Europe). Remember how expensive the PS2 was on release? This was two years later, and it was sold at a loss, and Sony could save money by making the hardware themselves, which Sega couldn't. There was just no way for Sega to put a DVD in their console by 1998, but they really wanted to initially.
DVD Licensing Fees.
That's why they didn't do it. Sony ironically had ownership on the DVD format so uhhhh, they had a free pass
@@AstralPhnx
Ironically Microsoft bought Activision, which is the best selling he every year, and bethseda. Game pass is gonna be Sony's free pass to the grave. Hell lol, they gave more for studios then Sony's actually worth as a company
I love those commercials that are inside the dreamcast
These in my opinion were so creative! I love these
The "Its thinking" part sounds like ASMR
2:00 “My Bad” 😅
these commercials are out of this world cool but seeing these on my tv as a little kid would make me start crying
As fun fact: all of the scenario of the world and characters living inside of the Dreamcast was actual CGI animation produced by Pacific Data Images (which is currently Dreamworks Animation) using official models provided by SEGA itself. The concept of having different characters from various Dreamcast games living together in the same console under the same 128-bit architectural style is actually cute and impressive. But it sucks that the console flopped fast. :(
Sega Dreamcast! GREAT CONSOLE!
i dont like it but I can see why people do, nostalgia. For me the 6th genaration was the PS2 and the Gamecube
@@sable.11 It's more than just nostalgia, it's quality and innovation.
@@animotiondesign guess what, Sega of Japan announce that they are going to make Sega Dreamcast Mini.
@@sable.11 i really don't care 😅
@@darthvader5558 guess what bitch neither do I
Its funny how this was a dreamcast..
But now all phone and social media commercials should have this quote
this is my favorite ad campaign for a console
it shows all the games while not feeling like a advisement and i like seeing all these sega charters interacting with each other
sega sure has a thing for genius marketing taglines
Why do they make them creepy is that what actually what happens in the Sega Dreamcast?
That not Really creepy, it's just their way of saying "it's time to play some Dreamcast games including Sonic Adventure".
@@VictorGonzalez-xs9oc That' not what it means.
1:57 - "Man, stay off the lightspeed!"
25 years and it's still thinking... a wondrous celebration to the Dreamcast's US release (9/9/1999) - (9/9/2024)
the birth of ASMR
This is how companies like Apple and Microsoft should market their products! Just whispering something that makes it sound like your product is going to bring about your downfall in a dystopian apocalypse with sentient robots! Sega was way ahead of their time with this!
I want to see an Android commercial where Google is just like "Hey, you know that device you constantly use and carry with you everywhere and have it potentially listening to you at all times as it tracks your location as well? Yeah, that device... It's thinking..."
Happy 25th Birthday
Sega Dreamcast 🌀🎮

1:44 Pai Chan really enjoying the party
sega - "in the box" produced by pacific data images (later known as pdi/dreamworks)
The way they designed the 'inside' of the console for these commercials looks like a mall-like hub world where each floor leads to a different game world. 😐🤔
(Fanfic instincts go off 🤯)
Yo! Maybe SEGA should do that! Make a SEGA All Stars action, adventure game that's like a mixture of Captain N and Kingdom Hearts where the SEGA Hard Girls have to save all these SEGA game worlds from a rough computer virus, and the hub world could resemble the one from these commercials. 😺
That's the 128-bit foundation system to be adapted into 2009 as the following three years to 2006 and 2019 as the following three years to 2016.
Happy 25th, Dreamcast. ♥️
Me: *plays a game on dreamcast*
Dreamcast: Hey look at that cute Dreamcast over there!

"It's thinking" what's that mean?
It's a metaphor to the console. A perfect slogan. Its called the "Sega Dreamcast. " when you dream you're "Thinking" your thoughts being projected in front of you. Basic its everything that you would want on a console.
@@kairuparker9949 Oh Ok
Creepiest ad campaign ever.
Should have been a phone ad
Not creeper than the old ps1 ads with the baby and alien girl
9....
Loved the Dreamcast. But “it’s thinking” is a really awful slogan and it’s bad marketing was part of the reason this ultimately failed. Xbox and PlayStation focused on advertising the power of the consoles as well as their games, meanwhile sega decided to take a more abstract route. Didn’t work out
1:22 that line freaked me out. Guess who’s name is Steven and who’s hometown is in Hackensack, New Jersey?
I'd keep an eye on that Dreamcast XD.
