I've had this machine for 3 years and just used it today and that's because I'm minimizing a lot of costs in my now changed lifestyle and am no longer using carpet cleaning companies. I went straight to youtube and chose this video for guidance. I'm soooo glad I did. The gentlemen was spot on with instructions and got right to it. And certain comments and tips from users helped greatly as well. Thanks a bunch!
I liked this video much more than others because it goes straight to the basics and to the point on how to use this carpet cleaner without all of the unnecessary talking.
We have the earliest model of a Hoover Steam Vac w/ upholstery attachments, it’s still going strong after decades of heavy use! With 7 dogs, 1 Chihuahua, 5 Chihuahua/Jack Russell mixes and 1 Min Pin, it keeps the entire house clean. We use it on hard surface floors daily, carpets and upholstery every 45 days. We were given a brand new Bissell, similar model, we used it just to do the carpets not traveled on by our dogs, within 1 year the plastic on it started randomly breaking, one day out of the blue the engine seized, it’s dead! If the Hoover ever croaks, we’d buy it again!
GOOD VIDEO KOOPER.......I have had mine for over 20 years and it still works fine. Important thing to do is periodically look at the long narrow suction opening in the front of the unit. You will have to lean the unit on it's back to see this. This area gets clogged all the time because it's so narrow. You can clean it out without taking the unit apart. Get a long wooden coffee stirring stick....like the ones at Starbucks. Stick it in at the furthest point to the right and pry the dirty wet fuzz out. These sticks are long so you can get pretty far up into the clear plastic covering. Do the same procedure from the left side now. I recently cleaned mine and enough wet dirty fuzz came out to fill a small coffee cup. Another real important thing to check is the little plastic window where you can see the circle spinning that shows the scrubbing brushes are indeed moving. That clear plastic cover pulls off. There is a very obvious rectangular square with a screen in it. pull any lint from it.
Thank you thank you thank you so much. Thank you Gracias Gracias Gracias it take me long time to find where they go each part of these back yet but when you help you made my day thank you so much.
Thanks so much for this video . My dad knew how to use it and he gave me the Hoover steam cleaner ( not exactly the same like your ) however it is similar . He now has dementia therefore can not show me of how to use it . Your video is very good one , you show us where to put the water + plus the name of the solution and how to put all parts together to make it works . Without this video i completely loss and may have to bring the machine to goodwill . Again thanks a lot
I have this vacuum for years and now maybe 2 years I didn't use it so forget how it works. Your video was a big help. Now I'm cleaning my sofa. I use laundry detergent and it works well too. Thanks alot and God bless you and your parents.
Thank you SO much! I have a very old Hoover steam vac, but it’s been so long since I’ve used it. Your post got right to it, and everything was clean and concise. Many thanks!!!
I got one of these carpet cleaners as a hand-me-down and this video helped tremendously as I am cleaning the carpets for the new babies nursery thank you so much for leaving this video up!❤
Absolutely great video. A clear understandable explanation of all the moving parts and how to access them. Mysteries of the universe made simple. Thank you!
This helped my girlfriend and I to realize that everything was, indeed, hooked up correctly, and our rug cleaner is not working as it should. Thank you very much!
Thank you for this video. I rented a Bissel which did not work and I had to return and then leaked all over the back of my car because since it wouldn't work I couldnt empty it. Now I have barrowed my brothers Hoover Steam Vac Plus (different model - this one has 2 green spinny wheels instead of one like you have) and needed to learn how to use it so I found your video. Thank you. Wish me luck on using it.
Hi Florida Man! Washington State here, I appreciate your post, I gave you a 👍 and subscribed. Your tutorial was well done! I couldn't find my manual, and only use the Hoover once a year and I always forget the steps to use the machine. So you video was very helpful! Thank you Sir! 😊
I also have a Hoover. 15 yrs now. Just clean it good after using it. There is a little screen in the bottom. Make sure you clean lint off the screen.. As long as you take good care of it, it will take care of you.
Thank you this is much appreciated I couldn't find any owner's manuals or anything and I have the same type of cleaner and I had to relearn everything but thank you I can now clean my apartment
Omgosh, thank you. I'm pet sitting my son's dog. He had diarrhea. I tried to clean it. There's a stain, of course. There's no stain now. Before your video I co get the water tank off, but that's all. Bless you.
Wonderful. How do you get plastic off front, the cover that is over front suction. I got mine 2nd hand, very dirty You make it look easy and marvelous. Thank you
I love mine- I’ve had it at least 13 years. It works great. I haven’t used in awhile and I didn’t clean it before storage. I’m trying to figure out if I can take the clear plastic piece on the bottom off to clean. It’s the clear piece that shows you all the dirty water getting sucked up. I found a screw but something else is holding it on.
So with this I won't need to take my big area rug and runner rugs outside to clean them? Will this damage my lvp flooring if I clean them inside? Can I use it to clean my lvp flooring too or will I need to buy a separate machine for lvp flooring?
Fabulous video you didn't bullshit around like everyone else. I have got to get that upholstery brush cleaner. Of course mine doesn't have that one. Thanks for the awesome info.
thanks. I have not used mine in several years, and I had NEVER used the attachment, which I need to use now (to do the upholstery on a car I am selling)
Thanks for the info I really appreciate it and was super useful. I’ve always had a Hoover. And now I know how to use one properly I can help my mom shampoo the carpet since I have one dog and two cats so it really makes the house messy thanks again you were amazing if I could I’d definitely give you over 5 stars
Had this machine for years. Got far better results by using science and common sense INSTEAD of their instructions. Their way, the soap gets one second to work on the dirt, then gets sucked up. My way: I take out the upholstery tool bypass on the recovery tank, and it defeats the vacuum. I then pull the machine backward while the soap gets sprayed then scrubbed into the carpet. Then I make a second pass, maybe third, with clear hot water, and vacuum restored. The ten minutes of soap soaking while I was doing the rest of the area makes ALL the difference! Then I finish with the brushes turned off to dry the carpet, because the switch cuts the brush turbine out of the air flow, increasing head suction.
Carpet in my new room’s carpet has been smelling funky and I’m guessing it’s years worth of the previous owner never vacuuming. I pulled this old bulky thing out of my Dad’s garage and had no idea how to use it. This video helped a lot though. Too bad I don’t have that attachment brush.
Have the same model F6030-900. Is that the same model you’ve got? I haven’t used mine for quite some time but when needed it does come in very handy. It’s so handy that my family asks to borrow it occasionally.
I have a question how is the water coming through the brush? I saw you connect the brush to the tank but did you attach the small round part that you unhooked in the beginning?
One thing i wish it had was the handle release, and power switch on the opposite sides. Otherwise i love it. I have lots of carpet solution, but the recent times i have been using laundry detergent. I used Tide in the past, and recently i used XTRA because i did not want to use the expensive stuff lol. The XTRA is probably easier on the machine because its consistancy is thinner. I only fill the cap halfways though. I once bought a used seat for my truck at the salvage yard,, and it had a nasty stain on the armrest which was not a battle for the Hoover. Took the stain right out with the upholstery nozzle.
Awesome video! I was completely stumped on how to hook up the attachment on a Hoover SteamVac that a friend gave me years ago, after watching your video it makes sense. I especially like that you mentioned the older models piece comes right out instead of tipping forward, mine is the old model. It would be great if you made a video on how to use the machine too. Thanks so much for taking the time to make this video and upload it!
Thank you!! I borrowed this cleaner from friends and could not figure out how to attach the black piece in the dirty water tank!! Unfortunately they didn't include the power brush for furniture, just a simple tool. You did good with the video though!
thanks... i just took my mom's steamvac and ran home ...i have no idea what im doing now that i just got home i gotta run up and get the carpet cleaning solution lol
***Not too hot of water or you will damage seal of water tank it's happened to me and then again when I left it to a friend obviously they didn't heed my advice. They just leak like crazy after that and suction is lost on Hoover and Bissell
I noticed they have 2 different types of the SpinScrub handtool. One with one large round brush like you are showing, then I noticed on ebay they have ones with 2 smaller round brushes. I wonder which one is best? My guess is the one you are showing with the large round brush; they are selling it on Amazon with Free shipping for $28.79 which seems ok price, unless you want used ones on ebay for less.
You showed us on the water holding tank on bottom the rubber seal etc but inside the water tank I need to know what goes on inside of it that lines up with lower tank
I am missing the clean water tank piece at your time 1:08 on the video. When you empty it the water just comes out of the hole because there is nothing blocking it. Do you know what I’m talking about or where to buy that part? Thx!

It's been many years since I have used our Steam Vac. This simple few minutes was an excellent refresher. THANK YOU!!

Hugely appreciate the help man got on for free from a family member and didn’t have a clue how to use it!

So helpful! Thank you. I adopted my parent's and they didn't have the manual. This was just what a I needed.
Thank you!
Thanks for this video you explained everything to use this machine to perform its best.

I’m sorry
Same thing is happening to me right now

Straight and to the point. No mumbo jumbo & stories. BTW, very cool chair at the end!
Good video very direct shows everything straight to the point. Lost the directions had no idea how much shampoo to use.
Big M

Thanks! Just I what I needed to get mine going. Only thing to add is to pop of the little fingers on the accessory hookup before connecting.
Your welcome
Thanks I got one practically new from the curb after a yard sale.
Thank you this is a very useful video, saved me a bunch of time looking for my owners manual. Appreciate it 👍
This was the best video ever. Thanks for the help.
Thanks you for posting this video! It helped me figure out how to attach the furniture hose.
It helped me to figure the same thing out too.
thank you, thank you, thank you. you solved my life for the day 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Thank you very much for this video. I just got this exact model second hand and I couldn't figure the spot cleaner attachment.
What do the triggers do and when do you use them? Ty 👍🏻
Super helpful, even three years later! Thanks!
He saved my life and sanity, didnt know the top tank was the filler tank, well doh! Thanks!

You made a great video with lots of good instructions. Thank you.
so thankful youtube has everything!!!!!!!... spent an hour trying to take an old model from the carpet to the car...l:
Really appreciate this m8. Trying to clean the carpet as a surprise for my mom, and this video saved me from wrecking her trusty hoover lol. Thanks!!
What a terrific kid! I’m sure your mom appreciated it.

I followed your lead and totally agree with you
Hi do you know my carpet cleaner stops suctiining after a couple of seconds after use??
Thank for this video I needed to know which one to put the water and solution lol. Thank you!!!
LOL Same here!
Thanks for saving me time and confusion! It's great to own one of these.
Thank you! Short and straight to the point
I love it! You explained it without all the fluff! Thanks
Carpet in my new room’s carpet has been smelling funky and I’m guessing it’s years worth of the previous owner never vacuuming. I pulled this old bulky thing out of my Dad’s garage and had no idea how to use it.

Nice thorough and succinct review - using mine like a pro now. Thanks man!
Thank you you explain that so well better than other videos thank you you're awesome
Very helpful video. Thank you.
I have a question how is the water coming through the brush? I saw you connect the brush to the tank but did you attach the small round part that you unhooked in the beginning?
Thanks I received mines as a hand me down, and could not understand how to use the attachment, I'm going to invest in the brush

Hi I just have a question does the bottom half of the steam cleaner need to be filled with water as well?
No that is the dirty water tank when I suck up the water that’s where it goes
Fast. Concise. Thanks man! Very helpful.
Btw thanks for the video on how to hook up this ridiculously impossible vacuum attachment.
Awesome video! I was completely stumped on how to hook up the attachment on a Hoover SteamVac that a friend gave me years ago, after watching your video it makes sense. I must have an older one too. How do you attach the hose part?
Okay watched again and got it.
Hey this is actually a great video. Also props on the background music, it’s perfectly added!
Thank you!! I borrowed this cleaner from friends and could not figure out how to attach the black piece in the dirty water tank!! Unfortunately they didn't include the power brush for furniture, just a simple tool. You did good with the video though!
Any suggestions on a diy cleaning solution?
thanks... i just took my mom's steamvac and ran home ...i have no idea what im doing
now that i just got home i gotta run up and get the carpet cleaning solution lol
Reviewing this before use very helpful!
And i am obssesed with vacuum cleaners and carpet cleaners to LOL and i really wanted one so badly.
***Not too hot of water or you will damage seal of water tank it's happened to me and then again when I left it to a friend obviously they didn't heed my advice. They just leak like crazy after that and suction is lost on Hoover and Bissell
Thank you!

You showed us on the water holding tank on bottom the rubber seal etc but inside the water tank I need to know what goes on inside of it that lines up with lower tank
You’re the man, saved me a lot of time. Liked and subscribed.
Excellent video, exactly what I needed.
Thank you ! Going to use for first time today!. It is a second hander but price is right! Hope everything goes well. Fingers crossed! ( :
Best of luck!
Awesome video bro. Exactly what I was looking for.
Bro Thanks 😊 Happy New Year !!!
Thank you so much... This seriously helped
Thanks for making it easy
No bullshit video, good stuff!
I am missing the clean water tank piece at your time 1:08 on the video. When you empty it the water just comes out of the hole because there is nothing blocking it. Do you know what I’m talking about or where to buy that part? Thx!
I would check eBay people sell used parts for these machines all the time
I love it, i had one of those at my elementary school LOL, and thank you for the video.
Thanks for watching!
How do I order one of those and what are they called? Mine does not have the little green brush underneath.
big help where i little time ... thank you
