The quest to beat Hou for the first time was absolutely insane, took weeks for that to happen because it had a special gauge that depleted when you didn't get a Marvelous... it's the chaos only a Camellia song can bring lol
They eventually allowed the gauge level to decrease so people could actually get clears - originally, it was stuck with the gauge you mentioned no matter what.
Never thought I would see the day where Jerod would play Camellia's DDR TRACK OF ALL THINGS. Amazing run through dude. A moment of silence for all the legs sacrificed to clear this intense song............... ( _my feet HURT just from looking at this. AND TO THINK PEOPLE HAVE TO THIS WITH AN EXTREME CHALLENGE GAUGE!!!!_ )
& this is the final song for the Baby-Lon’s Space Journey with PIU Gimmicks arrows just appearing & disappearing without warning, a Flare Gauge EX Where less than Perfect (I think) Instinct Kills you, PERFECT Drains your flare gauge. You need a maximum of 100 perfects to not FailOut from too many perfects. AND WE LOVED IT!!! Still waiting for the coveted Lv.20 that soon should exist. Check out Daniel Van Eden’s Breakdown of the event.
OMG You actually highlighted this song!!! 😅 I am so sorry for putting you through this nightmare, but glad you tried out this song. It really is quite a doozy of a stepchart. EDIT: In regards to your comment, this isn't the first song from Camellia in DDR, but I think it is for A3 though.
You are right. Camellia made 3 other exclusive songs in DDR: イーディーエム・ジャンパーズ in DDR 2014, ORCA in DDR A20 and Yuni's Nocturnal Days in DDR A20 PLUS. He also made a few songs for global events plus some other ones that crossed over to DDR such as Small Steps and Midnight Amaretto.
This song's BPM hasn't been *officially* revealed, but it's apparently 57-912 (!) BPM according to the simfile data...the wide BPM range is due to the double-speed and half-speed scrolling sections that DDR boss songs tend to have, with a 912 BPM speedup at the very end poor 8-bit had to drum at effectively 228 BPM
The first time this was playable, you had to clear it with a score of 995K or higher, ON CHALLENGE which btw was a level 19, it was so brtual to meet those requirements that konami updated it so you'd only have to clear with with Flare Gauge VIII, eventually its Expert and Difficult Charts where made playable, and so on and so forth.
You need to listen and know the songs first before covering them cause honestly some are pretty bad lol. And get a double pedal for the parts that definitely have double bass and try your best to replicate it! Keep it up tho, I admire your attempts :D
"This is a DDR track!?" As you might have figured it out, yes 😂
I'm glad you had fun covering this monstrosity!! 👏 We are always waiting for your challenge
YOO CAMELLIA HIMSELF ⁉️⁉️
hi camellia, huge fan 🙏
always fun to see your songs pop up on this channel
You made one heck of a banger song. The charts are brutal but fun in their own ways.

Didn't just take weeks, it took months man

its interesting how camellia made this song sound like your typical ddr song
Right?!?
It actually has a bunch of direct references, like the slow part in the middle being a reference to the original Paranoia
it helps that he uses a bunch of sound bites from your usual classic DDR songs
This is super cool! I loved seeing the reaction of the chart! I kind of want to see him play DDR or react to more charts

jerod is multitasking with looking at the gorgeous movie of the track and drumming
Crazy to think that one of the only other direct Camellia tracks in the DDR track list is an electroswing song.
I hope you’re not forgetting about ORCA, his first DDR original composition
dunno if you learned this later on, but the actual chart in game forces the SUDDEN mod 🙃
not just ANY sudden mod--a dynamic sudden so that you see less at lower BPMs! :)
Everyone is talking about the chart and the drums, whilst I am gushing over the animation. Stunning!
You can hear the Egoism 440 sample
The time stops in a camellia song, good god
2:00
Jerod: *preps for finisher*
Hou: *BRRRRRRRRRR*
Jerod: 👀💦

Heck the chart gave FEFEMZ and HARUJUN an intense work out!!

0:13 Imagine charting and playing this on DTXMania.....
My legs hurt by just watching this
You should play Camellia’s ACTUAL first DDR song: ORCA
@1:25. He NAILED that.
This actually isn’t Camellia’s first DDR song! Definitely check out ORCA, it’s another one of his DDR bangers!
Now I wanna see someone ace(?) this song in DDR..
My calves are mushy just by looking at that..
Already been done by 3 players: Harujun, Hibiki, and Fefemz
And Dr.D. That's four now.@@hnguye43
@@hnguye43 You can always rely on FEMZ to do some absolute inhuman shit to PFC a new track.
i really love the callback to EGOISM 440
There's an unofficial one that's even harder than this. It's called Divine Strike, and it is insane.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
This isn't even the only one! He hast the track ORCA on DDR A20

How do we request songs? Can you do Squirrels In My Pants from Phineas and Ferb? You would enjoy playing it.
I love the tempo changes

"Camellia in a DDR game" -- also play ORCA, and Yuni's Nocturnal Days
OMG!! 😂
