Welcome to NC, I ran XC in middle school there and now I am a freshman in high school can’t wait to go again for the 5k. Congrats on running 1006 miles that’s incredible!
It was fun watching your training on strava. I also grinded out 70 mile weeks this summer and I'm reaping the benefits from it. I haven't had a fast race in a couple weeks because of all the mud I've had to race in. 2 weeks ago I hit my pr pace of 5:38 per mile which allowed me to break 17 for the first time. It was nice knowing that someone out there was putting in the same amount of work that I was going through.
Just ran at McAlpine on Saturday and ran a 19:40 PR. I wish I ran a lot faster and broke 19, hopefully I will by the end of the season. It’s my first XC season and I’ve been pushing myself hard this summer. Hoping for big things!
I asked my doctor he said me not to run 😥 but he said I can go for cycling. My diabetes is hell sensitive it went 42 yesterday very dangerous and just in 30 minutes after eating it goes to 345.
Wow that’s crazy, I was just there last Saturday the 5th I ran a 16:54 on the 5k didn’t have my best race but finished 15th in the open race I love that course
It depends on what level. For club, you can run any time. If you want to compete for a top tier D1 school, you need to be running sub 16 in high school. For D3, you can probably get by with mid 17s

70 mile week gang for life!! Hoping that the high mileage pays off for 8Ks!
@@TylerSpeers I'm sure it does. I managed to get my fastest 10k run in yesterday and it was just a training run.
I was able to do that too, over the summer! You're definitely in for some big races!
@@TylerSpeers Can't wait to watch your future videos! P.S. can you tell Jack Bosley to upload more?
It’s okay man we all get those bad races but keep grinding and I’m sure you will get a PR soon!!
Hopefully next race I can rebound!
Tyler Speers you will just keep grinding!
I wish I could’ve been there the day you were to meet you that wouldn’t been awesome!
Are you gonna do a UVA race vlog?
You know it ;)
Did you say 15:37 😲
Jacob Speers no
I like ur videos
So glad to hear it!
How long did it take you to run 1006 miles?
It's however long the summer training was + the weeks right before this race so probably 4 months or so
Best vlog
Great Video

If it's your first season, you have so much ahead of you! You'll definitely be sub 19 by the end of the season!
My first race was last weekend ran a 18:34 I hope to get sub 18 by the end of the season
You got it! In my experience the first 5k you run is usually about a minute slower than your final one!
Charlotte was hiding behind that building
wow did me real dirty
John McDaniel bruh on Jah

Tyler Speers some d3 programs require even slower than mid 17s
