I'm from Ireland, and see this picture all the time. Although I don't call it: "Three Fish In a Pond" It's astounding. Please continue to share your work.
SO wonderful to see you construct the sacred geometric shape (shown art 5:02), as I've seen this in two of Miranda Lundy's books and never quite understood her instructions on how to construct this mandala/window pane. Just when I thought things couldn't get any better...Moonlight Sonata begins playing (38 years a musician, this is my most beloved piece of classical era music. I often listen to Beethoven while drawing. So much emotion!). You continually inspire me with your creativity, Dearing. I know I say this on every one of your videos, but it's worth repeating: thank you dearly for sharing your creativity with the world. Big smile, my friend! : )
Thank you for this fun drawing project. I found that if you want to make a smaller one that fits on 8" x 10" paper, you can start with the first circle of 4 cm radius rather than 7. If you have trouble making the tiny spacing circles with your compass, go to your stencil circles and use one that is about 3/16 inch or 6 mm.
This is absolutely beautiful. Have to try this one soon. Thank you Dearing for turning something I didn't like as a child in school into a form of meditation and relaxation for my adult self.
Fascinating, mesmerising ... I bought a compass today, you definitely make it look easy! I guess I will practice. Thank you very much. Loved the video.
Looks like another project I'm gonna try next! I tried AND finished the Geometric Mandala after 3 tries and 3 days to do it. It turned out great except I messed up the outer part so I just colored it in.
TruthSeekingElf Mostly by being very aware of all the shapes in the world. Buildings, cars, sacred paintings etc. And studying various artists and practising and using my imagination for over 15 years.
Wow amazing it starts easy then I get lost in the lines and circles :) but I would love to try mandala, do you have like slow lessons and a step by step instructions?
I am so interested and in love with your work, may your talent is placed where it is most treasured :) may Allah preserve and increase your capabilities :D
excuse me what kind of geometry is this? technically. besides people call them "mandalas". i never had this class in my life but i used to do geometry sort of alike, not this professional, but effervescent as well. i love to get lost in it...
Your videos are friendly and you are doing a nice job, but you don't work optimally with compass. Many construction lines are useless or doubled. It's about repetitive drawings and many compass settings can be deleted by working optimally and intelligently way. Thank you for your demonstrations and explanations.
Your work is absolutely amazing, but as a beginner, who has no drafting experience, watching the video is very frustrating. If your intent is to create a mesmerizing "silent" art film, you have succeeded to the extent of cinematography at its best. But if your intent is to instruct, please give verbal information for those who have no drafting training, yet want to create the beautiful images you create.

I wish the compass I had in school had that gearing system. They'd always drift even in the middle of use.
