I understand why the Notos is the perfect gun to modify and experiment with but short, compact, lightweight is the reason I purchased the Notos to begin with. Cool video, thanks for sharing.
I just got my Notos 2 weeks ago but I had to do this mod asap, thanks for the details they helped a lot. My poor compressor hates me now as I baby it to only 50C and it takes 5x cycles to fill my .35L. can't wait to test her out this weekend. This is actually really fun to hot-rod pcp in a way I can't do on my rimfire.
Right out of the box, most Notos are shooting 765~770 FPS and 18.5 FPE with the 14.3gr Crosman Premier Hollow Point. After spending $160 on parts to only gain 1.5 to 2 FPE and less than 50 FPS, that doesn't sound like a worthy upgrade at all. If you want more shot count, higher FPS and FPE, you might as well skip the Notos and go straight for the Zelos/M60B for about $500 on sales a few times a year.
Awesome job!! Now, if you REALLY want to make a difference .... Figure out how to convert the Umarex Komplete NCR .22 Caliber NitroAir PCP Pellet Rifle to a standard carbon fiber tank! lol That would convert a really good budget rifle to a GREAT budget rifle!
💡The best setting for this configuration is to set your regulator in between 18mpa and 19mpa and screw your hammer screw all the way in, and you'll achieve 890fps with 15.43gn pellets, at least that's what I'm getting without boring out my breech💥👍 Also with that particular plenum you don't have to take your gun apart to install it👍👍🏽👍🏼👍🏿👍🏾
Yep, I’ve got it in the range of 17.5-18mpa. Anyone messed with the spring stack configuration? I took this one apart because I was getting regulator creep and found that the spring stack is quite a strange configuration. (((())))((((. I tried all sorts of configurations but this is the only one that worked at all.
@@MSRWorkshop No I haven't been inside of it YET😂 I was getting that stupid creeping from my regulator as well, so I set it just a hair behind the 20mpa mark and after a few magazines being fed through it, it finally settled between the 18 and 19mpa mark and hasn't moved since and that's perfect in my opinion, so I put just a dab of red locktite on the regulator adjusting screw without moving it and it's been that way for the past 10 months now👍👍🏽👍🏼👍🏿👍🏾
Nice build, that shows the true limits of the most popular pcp of 2024! And 800+fps is plenty power to do what you need, out to about 50-75yds. Have you considered removing the moderator (you can remove it fairly easily, if you have a lathe. And you can save it, thread it, and re-use it on your Notos, or any other 22cal) and polishing the barrel? I'm just thinking of the simple mods that help with accuracy and get you a few more fps...
I used that same drop block. I gauges started to leak pretty soon. The reg creep was horrible. I took it apart and replaced all the o rings now the creep is less but still there.
How is the shot count? I imagine it is quite a bit better then the tube. One thing you may want to look into doing is porting out the transfer holes. I have been told this greatly increases power, although it also greatly decreases shot count.
Thanks! Been wondering what was the benefit but couldn’t even find a how to vid. Happy you did this! I love my notos for target shooting and hunting. Ive been able to hunt longer with my airgun than my old shotgun. If any modification is an upgrade, Ill try it!
@@fireemblemistrash75 I’ve been loving it so far. Shot count is amazing, i’ve gone through 90 shots from 300 bars down to the bottom, half of the yellow 200 bars and it’s still going. Makes it a bit heavier that stock but it’s still simple to haul around
Just got my upgrade parts from ALIEXPRESS…will be doing the same conversion next week. Great video. Btw your barrel and buffer tube…is that just a carbon fiber wrap vinyl?
Right now it’s just a carbon fiber wrapped vinyl. If I did an FX barrel upgrade, it’s about $130 for the barrel and then another 110 for the sleeve so the price is really start to jump on this gun if you want to keep it budget
I have questions I bought a umarex notos but my notos is doesn’t change My problem is when I push air in, the air goes into the tank and then the air comes out of the barrel. I can't use this air gun should I return is?
@@miguelarias27 it depends what you’re end goal is. The zealous is a great gun but is still limited on shots just like the Umarex. You can do a bottle conversion on the Zelos but your spending quite a bit more that just doing the Notos. If you get the aftermarket barrel adaptor and use the FX liner then you’re probably adding about 100fps at which point you can turn your regular down if you want and get even more shots, or leave it turned up and have some high power. And with the FX superior liners you’ll be adding a big increase in accuracy as well. Lots of options. :)
What’s your number of shots per fill? Just finished my conversion today and my gun its only shooting about 10 to 15 shots per fill. It depletes the air very quickly
@@diegocarvalho8669 are you actually filling the bottle because it doesn’t sound like it. It sounds more like you’re just filling the Plenum block. With a 300 cc bottle filled I’ve currently got 90 shots on it and only moved 100 bars, so that should give me somewhere around 200 shots give or take. I haven’t shot it to empty yet.
@@MSRWorkshop OMG! I feel so stupid right now! I forgot that i did messed with that allen screw in the block before the bottle! It was closed, you were right i was just filling the block with air 🤦🏻♂️ what a moron! Thanks for pointing that out to me

Yes but I think with the added pressure it wasn’t opening the valve all the way so my FPS actually got worse.. I’m going to see if I can get a lighter valve spring and see what results I get
@@MSRWorkshop Ah I see, I think thats what happening to my 2240 build. Stock valve wont see gains going from 1200 psi to 1500 psi. Also I hear you can use one off a chaser/cp1/2/bandit. Or clip and stretch it maybe.

Best notos upgrade video yet🤙 nice job
Thanks
thank you for the sharing... very good imformation about this notos, going to buy one of this pcp

Biggest improvement for me was a huge upgrade in shot count.
Shot count is why I would do it.
It would be great if you could do a precision test too. At least at 50+ yards and see the grouping’s results.
Thanks and more power.

It’s crazy better. I shot about 90 and maybe gone down 100 bars, so 300 to 200.
After all the upgrades whats the weight of the gun? I know stock specs are 4 lbs.
thank you

How much is the bottle ? And I love it . I just found another airgun channel like me . I subscribed 🔥
The bottle was around 100.

@diegocarvalho8669 I got the huben dream valve and a tuxing 500cc bottle, the valve is 15 days out though....
@051Jerrett sad. I ended up getting my bottle through Amazon because I didn’t wanna wait a month for it.

So if your tank is completely empty, the first time you pressurize the gun, you need to actually caulk the charging handle and then it should hold air
