I'm having trouble opening people up with Shang I do the combo into lao hat but most the time they either jump or poke me and take back their turn any help would be appreciated thanks also is lao the only kameo good with Shang?
@@HalcyonEX check your other comment, sub or sareena are also good for shang but Lao is the strongest
i think the update fixed shang where his old form would have the same skin but now they’re different

Thoughts on the follow up to F3 being an overhead. It looks similar to Liu Kang’s overhead and because it looks like a low, it’s deceptive. Just like how Shang would play. It makes constantly down blocking all of his moves less viable.

We did get nerfed. We got less meter build off ground skulls. Minimal nerf, but a nerf none the less
I too would like for my character to be way too good. In MK and tekken throws can be used in place of lows to help establish a guess. Typically chars with good strike throw mixup OR excellent zoning do not get unpunishable highs and lows that lead to full combo as it would hurt the game

Sadly the 89 combo is removed due to less meter build on skulls. Also you can get 39.7% on the bnb by back dashing on the first kick to get a third kick instead of knee

Can't lab it right now so I'm asking the question. Can you side switch in the corner after the first df1? I drop a lot of corner combos and I see you did as well here I side switch midscreen but never tried it in the corner.
Yes you can in the corner it's easier to side switch but also works midscreen try dashing and then 2
Maybe there is some kind of life hack for combos with skulls? I just can't get the timing right😅
A question as a Shang Tsung player, don't you feel that the character has a ''slow'' speed? Yesterday I played against a Johnny in KL and his frame time felt very fast compared to Shang, D1, D3, etc., no matter how much the combo ended, he always won the D1 trades, or maybe I am the bad player, but It felt a little unfair.
Johnny has the best frames in the game so it's hard to compare shang with him. Shang is a bit on the slower side but therefore you have strong zoning,insane meterless dmg and you can morph for a huge dmg buff. He's not easy at all but that's what makes him fun imo
@Raivazz I agree,fighting against Johnny when playing with somewhat slower characters feels very frustrating at times

I'm having problems opening people up with Shang I can do the long string into lao hat but after that they just poke me and take their turn and I don't zone alot with young Shang mostly because of the salt but maybe that's the part I'm missing I'm trying to be too aggressive with Shang any tips? Also is lao kameo best? Or is there another kameo best for Shang? I'm a subzero main trying to convert to Shang main but having few issues
Bnbs are a must you want to maximize your dmg once you get an opener. Use f3 or 2,3 sometimes and see if your oponnent blocks low this converts into full combo. Make sure you're zoning in hard matchups from time to time to get some space. Lao hat into tripple skulls young form is really strong. Lao is his best Kameo try to copy some of my patterns to get an idea and then develop your own playstyle. Hope this helps
@@Raivazz yes thanks I don't use zoning nearly as much as I should I get souch hate for it and people saying I suck and I'm spamming and it works because I try to get in close and be aggressive and ultimately lose I gotta stop caring what people say
@@Raivazz in terms of BnB I usually do the basic one where you up skull standing 4, 3-4 times
@@HalcyonEX make sure you can convert from f4/f3/2,3 into bnbs, use your jump 2 it has a really good hitbox. Make use of grabs and switch up your string. Don't finish the string only f4,1, 2 then Lao hat or d1. And use zoning whenever needed you're not playing to please everyone

Shang is not gona remain untouched for much longer. I just encountered a glitch where he litterally fell into the map, disappeared off screen i couldnt hit him but the other player used the exploit to win the set. His is upsetting
I've never had that happen to me but I've seen some clips with the same issue you've mentioned
How do you do that properly with old shang dbf1? Are your control settings on medium or short?

He's really tough for everyone has the highest pressure in the game, I like to exMorph into johnny and pressure him the same way. Or you just try to zone him out. You also can't anti air him. I could make a match up guide if people want to see that
