I love GMade kits. I still run my R1 regularly after 4 years as it is so good. Never broken anything and had some huge crashes...it once cartwheeled 300m down a steep hill end over end.
I have not really been drawn towards the crawlers before but this one looks great. What a fabulous set up that Crawler track is! Cheers Tomley for adding something else to the RC wishlist 😂👍🏻
I'm a bit of a Gmade fanboy. Love them! FYI, for the BOM; if you are planning on running the cantilever system, best to fill with thick oil, get the stiffest Gmade rear springs, as well as the stiffest rear anti-roll bar. Cantilever is the BOM's party piece... sorta.
Congrats to the new car...i give my bom a little weight in the wheels a Hobbywing 1080 and fake pit bull Rock Beast..and a 5slot 16turn Motor...that is a really killer machine for the portal guys.. nice video

Nice one Tomo. Just bought the kit . Pairing it up with the hobbywing motor/esc all in one with some alloy beadlocks. (winter build project) So far the only problem i have seen are the plastic drive shafts. metal ones readilly availabe. Have owned the R1 for several years. It is an awesome comp crawler. Keep the great content coming pal.
I had 3 gmade trucks,I had the Sawback,Gom and the R1 and I had no luck with any of them but that's just me. This truck does look good though. Hope you have good luck with it and enjoy it
I’ve had one of these for over two years and I would not part with it , I prefer it to my trx-4 and Traction hobby brabus g550 which are much more expensive as you know , great video mate .
@@mossyhollow3732 I can’t remember what pinion i fitted but I did fit natal bead locks with hyrax tires and axle extensions, I did do anything with the weight I didn’t find it needed any extra added to the front unlike the trx-4 which tips back over if you blow on it , that’s out of the box I had to add a lot of brass to that to make it in to a good truck but I still think the Gmade is a better truck but that’s just based on my own findings with my own trucks .
They say you can contact gmade and get the updated gs02 gearbox case for free if it's not already in the kit. This is the older chassis. Gs02f is the newest chassis for BOM. I haven't heard of any gs02f transmission issues. I've been using my gs02f buffalo for months. No part's broken.
coincidence i am considering getting the kit version of this, it does seem to have very good speed control, if i did kit i would put plenty of upgrades in at build, good video mate

I just got done building the Buffalo kit and it was intense and ended up fantastic! I also have the GOM kit that’s sick! Have videos of both recently if you want to check them out! Great video and beginning to like this companys products! 🤘👊
If I hadn't won my TRX4, I would have bought a Gmade. They are great performing trucks. My only concern is they're a little light?! A friend has the Buffalo, and it lacks a little traction sometimes. Definitely a candidate for a little low down weight. 👍🏻
You'll turn that into a advantage when more weight is added down low. My buffalo has gmade steel wheels, injora heavy dual stage tpe tire foam, gmade steel link kit, + two brass injora scx10 II knuckles with 138gr combined weight. Total weight without battery is 3556gr. I've got no extra weight installed. Only heavier parts.
Hey Tomley, have you ever heard of Crossfire or Dragon Link? Those are proprietary control links for long range and so on... You could use them with rc cars, but then you'd need an airplane radio, so... Things get complicated. Either way, FrSky made a huge mistake a few years ago, they made the R9 system, to work like Crossfire (800Mhz or 900Mhz), just to discontinue it in less than a year. (It's a long history, but they created a complete new system, new radios to replace the old ones... And even a new R9 system, so they could avoid compatibility with 3rd party hardware.) Either way... People weren't happy about this and get together to create a new firmware for those R9 modules. It's called Express LRS. But it didn't stop there, it's 100% open source and any company can make hardware for the system. And they didn't stop at 800Mhz/900Mhz either: they also made a firmware for 2.4Ghz... You know? Testing the 2.4Ghz version with a flying wing they could go over 20km! So... For rc cars it would be less, but who knows. Anyway, all this to say that... Well, anything is possible at this point and I really hope some company make a cars/boats transmitter with Express LRS! 😃 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Hi Tommy , niiiiiiiiiiice rig, G Made make awesome rc’s, buuuuut, lol 😝 , I don’t particularly like the back end, I’d prefer a pick up rear end. Never liked the cage. The yellow looks amazing 🤩, niiiiiiice and bright, easily seen. I’ll stick with my G Made Sawback jeep with solid axles and leaf 🍃 springs. I’ve done it up as a WW2 willis jeep with a couple of Hunter Dan’s for driver and passenger, I even bought the Hunter Dan Army? Tent 🏕 and a Hunter Anne, lol , sad or what, lol 😂. Your G Made is a very capable crawler, I’d have one before a Traxxas any day. Imho Traxxas moved the goal posts a bit too much. Niiiiiiiiiiice video Tomly. Z😎👍👍👍🇬🇧
We have a few BOM's in my local crawler group and their owners love them. For a RTR the tyres are great. The only negative is a tendency for the rear suspension (whether cantilever or triangle configuration) to unload and tip the rear of the model over. Worth watching out for when side hilling, root traversing etc
I've been running a BOM for 6 months or so now. I agree with the rear suspension description. I have the TSA PRO kit that came with the super hard springs, and I'm using the hardest sway bar from gmade. Now it's quite predictable and I love it. It is way more than a trail truck!
Fairplay that does look one hell of a capable truck I don't think my scx10.3 would of done some of that 🤔 but ill be changing the body soon with couple different upgrades then will be unstoppable haha. Great video Mr Tomley 👍
I was cleaning out and abandoned property and I found one of those boms and a old v1 axial bomber both like new just missing controllers. I'm in the u.s but I wanted to see how much it would cost me to send you the bomber if you'd accept it. I don't need another crawler and I would love to see it on your channel. Let me know what the process is, if I have to email you or whatever. I'd just really like to see your opinion on it compared to the Capra and everything else in your arsenal.
"I like difficult transitions "--- (wonkey flip.) Omg, that bit cracked me up. Pretty impressive plasti-truck right out the box! Wonder what it can do with upgrades? You might just be the guy to find out ??? Let us know!
Why would it need upgrades? Not every RC needs modified. Especially many crawlers. The only thing I'd want done is 4 wheel steer but it's obviously not necessary when the vehicle performs as this one did.
I love GMade kits. I still run my R1 regularly after 4 years as it is so good. Never broken anything and had some huge crashes...it once cartwheeled 300m down a steep hill end over end.
