Such a great talent, I was saddened by her passing. My first time hearing and seeing Renee performing was in Sydney at the long gone Cheetah Room, in Pitt Street. She was about 18 and had the voice of an angel. Her band then was led by her long time guitarist Mark Punch. She was great then and will be great forever. Long live Renee's wonderful interpretations. Vale Renee, you'll be missed.
Love to Hear these songs of Harry Bruss and Renee Geyer- revised in this New World Mellenium by the same Pre-Millenium Gneration of HARRY BRUS and The Lady Renee Geyer Legacy .... Churrrr ....
I loved this old show. I'm sure I had this exact episode copied onto a cassette back in the day. Brilliant band, songs, performances. Harry Brus, you backed up Renee with the coolest bass lines for decades. I'm so sorry for your loss.
I first saw Rene perform in a band called Sun, in Paddington Theatre back in 1970 . She was only 16 years old and her performance was outstanding plus she was very beautiful plus she had a stage presence.
23.40 it’s a man’s world Have never forgotten hearing her and her brilliant band play this at The Gov (adelaide) in the early 2000’s. She signed copies of her book “confessions of a difficult woman” afterwards. (Title of the song Paul Kelly wrote for her).
I’m 53 y/o daughter of immigrant Croatian father and Australian mother successful musician from 60’s Melbourne. I always felt a strong connection to Renee Geyer. My father’s closest friend and business partner of 30+ years was Hungarian refugee. Music has been my only reliable constant source of solace and joy. Renee meant so much to me and many others. Such joy. Moments of pure transcendence. So rare. So beautiful.
Are you also a singer?I had tickets for her concert...but she left earth 2 days before xowhat a legend you are in my heart until I will go to listen again and again 😢
This is bizarre... I thought I recorded the whole thing back in the day (I've got the introduction and the end credits) But this has an extra 2 songs on it.
Rene's voice is on so many overseas albums in backing tracks, she recorded an enormous amount of music that helped the careers of dozens of "bigger names". Back home of course, the lady was appreciated for her unique voice and musicality. Within the music world, she commanded the respect of the best. Someone needs to clean the heads and guide rollers of their VCR, the tape is slipping now and then.
Harry, Please give me the VHS tape and I will do really good capture of this tape. I have a number of Studio 22 recordings that I converted from VHS to AVI.

She was gorgeous and an excellent interpreter of great songs.
Amazing woman, fantastic band, players one and all. Wish I could've been there!
I had the pleasure to see her in 1982 in Warrnambool at Lady Bay pub , and she was extraordinary !
