Great video My wife and myself always enjoy your videos. There are so many trips we can do that are in our "backyard " We have been on The Ghan but these trips look more exciting and affordable. Thanks for your video
I can remember catching a Harris train to Warrigal when the line was electrified to Moe. There was even a 10 car Harris train for the 1963 Royal visit! L Class locos that carried coal and briquettes were the main reason the line was electrified. Looks like preparations are being made to electrify to Warrigal again in the long term!
I did notice all the footings on the side of the track. Strange decision since all the La Trobe valley coal fired power stations will be shut down by 2030.
I would like to know that is the Pakenham and East Pakenham Stations still running and the old Pakenham station already demolished? I wish you get video one day for new staions ok then! Thanks for sharing video with us! Have a nice day!! 👌😉🚂
I have not seen yet but I would expect the old Pakenham station to be demolished by now. In the near future I will have video through the new stations. Very happy you enjoy the videos. Have a great day. 👍😀
Thanks for posting this. Australia on the whole needs better rail and it seems to me that Victoria is moving in a good direction. It may be slow, but I believe it is doing better than other states. Here in SA, we don't even have any country passenger rail worth speaking of. That said, WA looks good for the future.
Not surprising that the second platforms of Bunyip and Longwarry are taking so long, and to make the situation worse, the track between the two stations will remain single track
@@brianmcgill7314 both lines are bidirectional from Pakenham. The south line is higher speed and is mostly used for the peak hour direction of traffic. 👍😀
Thanks so much for sharing 😊 I have a few questions, but I won't ask them all here; I will ask them in future videos. 🤔 What is your favourite passenger route?
@@driver667 That's very cool. I used to live in Camperdown and Warrnambool (35 years ago) and took the train to Melbourne via Geelong. I even remember when the train stopped at Geelong (after the tunnel) so we could go and get some food from the station. It was always a pleasant ~three-hour journey. 😃
do you know if the city of Morwell N class is still active? old mate at work used to like to check the N class at work when they stopped at Morwell to see what city they were as our workplace backed onto the station
It will be great to see the Metro Trains, V/Line Vlocity Trains, N Class Locomotives and the Maryvale Paper Train to run on the New Skyrail with the New Pakenham Station and the Brand New Pakenham East Station one day soon when the Line Reopens in June 18 2024
When do u think the n class will be replaced by vlocity to bainsdale Ik there waiting on stabling rn until then but how long? (Same with Warrnambool they need there stab
can i just ask im a bit confused... i know your not like an engineer but the track at bunyip at the tralagon end are you expecting that the north track will swerve into the platform cause from that vision it look like the north track will need to make a bit of a bend to accomenate that new points... hope that make sense??
Yes, the north track will bend around to run into the platform. The bend will easily accommodate the speed of the train that has reduced to negotiate the diverge at the points. This allows the south track to be straight enough to allow 160kph for express moves as the south track is the fast track. 👍😀
Usually the N Class Loco Hauled Trains to Bairnsdale Speed Through Nar Nar Goon & Tynong Stations on the right side of the Track 6:09

I don't think we will ever see the wire put back up to Warragul. Pakenham East is probably as far as it will go. 🤔👍😀

I hope that Victoria's example encourages other states. Glad you enjoyed the ride.

Why is the done train on the up track 😮

Just a question as I am curious......Is the flyover alongside the current train line heading east a new railway line.
The flyover is to eliminate the level crossings. 👍😀

Been trying to get a picture of it for years, having grown up in Morwell. Being standard gauge I don’t think we’ll catch there anytime soon!
I think it might be in storage at South Dynon. 🤔🤔👍😀
When the New Pakenham Station and the Brand New Pakenham East Station Reopens until June 18 they won't any Level crossings in Pakenham any more
I noticed at Garfield that both lines had signals as amber/red was that correct?
That is correct. Protection for the merging of two lines around the corner at Bunyip. 👍😀
interesting to see the N class still in service
It runs the evening service to Bairnsdale and returns the morning service to Melbourne. 👍😀

Why is the headlight beam set so high?
It's set the same as all locomotives. The camera just doesn't like low light conditions. 🤔👍😀

We paid millions to have the Regional Fast Rail convert the duplicate track to single now we a paying millions more to duplicate it!
Actually no double track was singled on this corridor. The bit between Bunyip and Longwarry was always single line. 👍😀
