      Cannot agree more! If ever Verbos comes out with a new module I hope they gift it to you to explore, you’re really such a good showcase of their stuff

    I'm on an on and off relationship with my Dual Four Poul. Over the years I had and sold three of them. This last one (REV5) has been out of rack most of the time. But your demo is so well made that it really made me reconsider this filter once again. In particular the ping section is incredible. I was just after some ADDAC T-Networks pingy pluckiness, but the way it sounds in your demo makes me think it has all I am after, and more. Thank you very much. Greetings!

      I was in the same position for a long time but at some point decided to really dive into it and put it in a smaller one voice case and really fell in love with it. Now I use it a lot; it's really unique.

    Great demo. One thing I like to do is boost the resonance on only on the highness side, keep it wide open and have it very loosely track pitch, as a sort of periodic bass accent. I also find this filter's character is excellent for samples and imported audio, and when driven with a lot of gain.

      I should try to put the Amp and Tone first in the chain and boost the audio, I'm sure it would sounds great. I would be curious to try it on field recordings too, maybe I'll make a mini part 2 !

    Great demo treatment! I've been having a lot of fun with the pinging it.

    The new Toppobrillo filter has to attenuverted cv inputs, high, low, notch, variable outs, two inputs and a ping input. I’m psyched on getting one.

      Ah nice. Even the old one has always seemed to me like a very cool filter.

    So great - would love more insight into your pattern techniques to get that hypnotic grove - sounds like lots of polymeter/polyrhythm or just smart delays etc

    • @LucasMarchal
      @LucasMarchal  2 роки тому

      Thanks a lot ! Yes it’s a lot of odd numbered sequences to make polymeters and also just playing with delays, sometimes putting several in series etc…

    I miss mine, exchanged it for a cwejman mmf1s, but that one couldn't replace it

      I've tried to replace it without selling it, but I've sold the others , not this one ahah.

    Love my Four Pole filter. It certainly has a great vibe. I have an early model, which has quirks. The Resonance on the HiPass does nothing, but I still love it. I find attenuating the input audio signal helps to refine the resonance on the LoPass, giving it space to breath. Lush filter.

    How are you finding the DPO compared to the Verbos CO? I've been struggling with my DPO a bit (in touch with Make Noise about tuning issues), not always into the sound of it but the Verbos sounds amazing!

      Also noticed you're not rocking the Odessa anymore, thinking of getting one soon, how is it? :)

    • @LucasMarchal
      @LucasMarchal  2 роки тому +1

      @@hf328 I've sold the Odessa. honestly a very good oscillator, my only gripe with it was that it sort of has a "sound" and I tried to move away from such modules. I prefer "classic" complex oscillators that I find more versatile. I like the DPO by the way, I have much more experience with the CO so not a totally fair comparison, but I use the DPO a lot for basslines or more atmospheric, FX like sounds because it can easily go crazier than the CO.

    I wonder if there are any calibration pots on the PCB that would allow you to adjust it's response in terms of resonance and frequency range?

    • @LucasMarchal
      @LucasMarchal  2 роки тому

      It depends on the versions of the module. Mine has it, but I think this is the "proper" calibration. There is a tutorial on modwiggler about how to best calibrate it.

    Very informative as always! Is this the old or new version of the filter? Does it also differs that much in its sonic behaviour like the old and new a&t?

    • @LucasMarchal
      @LucasMarchal  2 роки тому

      Thanks ! It's a Rev 4 so fairly recent. I don't think the versions are that different from one another, it's not a different module like the a&t v1 & v2

      there is a little CVP chapter in the Model 158 demo, but yes maybe a full demo might be interesting.
