PLEASE READ: Hi all! Just an update, I flew into the UK BEFORE the new rules were implemented and unfortunately, entering the country now is very tedious and expensive. The UK government have now stated that if you are from a red-list country, YOU MUST quarantine in a gov approved hotel. In addition to that, regardless of what country you come from, you must pre-book 2 covid PCR test to be done on day 2 and day 8 of your quarantine/self-isolation. ALSO, you STILL need to show a negative PCR test at UK immigration, so yes, you'll have to do a total of 3 tests within 2 weeks 😂 Please ask yourself, is it worth flying here? And if it is and you MUST fly into the country, do you have the finances to sustain your trip? I advice that you gather more information before flying into the UK via the gov website: www.gov.uk/uk-border-control The procedures in this video is still relevant for Malaysians who wish to exit the country, but entering the UK will not be as simple as showing a negative PCR test (like I did). Good luck!
So u are saying if u are a Brittish citizen there shouldn't be any issues, other than tests needed and what not?. I'm curious as I'm going back to Aberdeen next month. And it's gonna be the first time I will be flying alone.
@@dicky20p50 if you have a UK visa then it's fine and if you're a British citizen then yeah, no issues but you might have to do PCR test or quarantine, just check the info on red lists online

Glad u made it to Uk. I arrive to Uk last Sept. It was so hard and i don't have any visa . No letter to exit Malaysia as well. But i just go for my flight with my Uk husband and Malaysian daughter. Turkish airways staff in the check in counter not allow me to check in. My husband argue with them. At the end they allowed me to check in . Arrived in Uk safely without our luggage( lost luggage). Now settle in Spain with my family.
Nice and informative vlog for everyone planning to visit Uk at this time..transit at doha is always exciting with those giant sculptures..when I visited last time, we saw a giant panda..the snow looks awesome in Edinburgh
Thanks. Just to add. Different airline may have a slight different procedure too. Example, if travel with KLM, the passenger will need to have a rapid test within 4 hours of the departure. Btw, you have a lovely American twang... where is the Scottish accent :)
Yup, as I mentioned in the vid, people have to check with their airlines properly because airlines are strict. My accent is very mixed depending on the environment lol
@@foodngems so let's say my wife applied 6 months before our travel date (we're in Malaysia and have been married for 15 years) just to make sure we get it done in time, and the visa is approved after 3 months, does that mean we get 3 months of spouse visa time here which counts as part of the 33 months?

You mean at the immigration gate? They didn't ask me anything
Hi Samad, really appreciate your vids. I was wondering, when does the spouse visa actually come into effect? Is it when you arrive at UK Immigration?
The date HO grants your visa

Yup and you'll have to travel into the UK before the vignette expires which is usually 3 months after the visa is granted
