Very Sick FS 2001-SRN Siren Test Clyde, OH 8-1-15

- Опубліковано 13 жов 2024
- Siren: FS 2001-SRN AC/DC, 1.1 RPM, 480 Hz
Town: Clyde, OH (Sandusky County)
Location: Woodland Ct. east of Franks Ave.
Test Time: 1st Saturday of every month 12 PM
Cycles: 3 minutes of alert and 1 blast
Other notes: I had a suspicion this siren was not working right, and boy was I right! In my June ambiance, I heard a mysterious slow winding up siren, and in my July T-128 video, there was a low tone siren being heard from Clyde, and the only thing I figured it could be was this SRN. What really surprised me wasn't just that it's sick, but how long it took for it to wind up! I don't know how Clyde managed to screw this siren, but knowing them and their wonderful maintenance of their 3T22s, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. Clyde also did attack this month, but this siren only did a short blast and then rotated for the rest of the sequence for some reason.
At the beginning, you can hear the T-128 at the airport west of town, and then Clyde's sirens can be heard as this siren tries to wind up. The 130 at the high school has been fixed and can be clearly heard along with the SRNB, the 2 T-128s, and the Carter 3T22 (faintly).
What on earth.
Blue10AEMia That's exactly what I thought.
ikr
Yep. Same here.
Blue10AEMia what on earth is right
*Official* "This is an emergency! Sound the sirens immediately!"
ONE HOUR LATER
*Citizen* "Look! The siren is sounding! Too bad the city is already gone..."
BOI. If the Entire City was gone than wouldnt the siren be gone too????
Brilliant lol
@@zachj9359 good point
@@zachj9359 what if the tornado doesn't want to destroy the siren and wants to listen to it...
And then it wants to destroy it
Zach Janisch r/woosh
I really started cracking up when it kept rotating without making a sound.
LOL I agree :)
@Jd the teacher told it "at least look like you're doing something"
I think the chopper motor is worn down
@@aydanpatrick745nah it's the batteries
I think its time that siren got it's flu shot.
Agreed
i think its time that siren got SHOT.
Hahaha..no.
Zach Janisch You got that from SML, didn't you?
no.
I've recorded a sick SRN multiple times before but holy crap this takes the cake.
these 2001s are not the quality. older sirens seem to have WAAAYYYY better quality
Surprised it didn't explode.
@@justmike0000 2001-Srns aren't that bad. Most of them work just fine.
when this siren FINALLY started winding up and sounding, it was like me trying to walk up a hill lmao
Fr tho 😂
The siren that tried.
JProductions the siren that failed 😞
But failed :/
For all you people out there saying that the problem is simply bad batteries-that is not the case! Listen to other recordings of 2001s with bad batteries and then compare them to this one. The pitch on those 2001s (such as the Roundback in Fostoria or plenty of SJC sirens). seems extremely weak and drops a lot. This one doesn't sound exactly like that. Yes, it is extremely low pitched for a 2001, but the pitch remains relatively steady in till the end of the cycle. My best guess is a dying chopper motor. (Which is rare with 2001s but I'm sure can happen, especially considering its in Clyde, OH.). By the time Attack started, the motor was so worn down from the Alert that it just quit running. Don't quote me on this though because I'm not by any means an expert on these things, but that's just my two cents
it depends how low the batteries are, iff they don't have the amperage to operate the chopper, it will just rotate and not do anything more. Thats what happens when the battery are completely near flat.
the rotator was going insanely slow too. and i don't think the chopper motor died. i think probably the AF timer gave out after the first attack cycle. and i think it is the batteries. i've had a handheld fan that had almost dead batteries and was going very slow, but it retained it's speed pretty well. it's fair to say that because everything on that siren was running slower than it should that it needs new batteries. i was also thinking the siren was supposed to be only running on power from the grid until the power goes out. then the batteries would kick in until the power comes back on again and recharges them. kind of like a game boy advance sp or nintendo ds lite. it can run and use power from the grid while it is charging up, and when you unplug it, the batteries take over until you plug it in again. tornado sirens should have the same kind of rig.
broken solar panel 2001s don't have AF timers. Neither do Mods or any other modern federal siren. Only older federal sirens use AR/AF timers. Also it's AR timer. AF timers are only used on 3t22s and Thunderbolt 1003s
Elizabeth_958 The evidence of Dying Batteries is the Slow Rotator. It looks as if it's barely reaching 1 RPM. Slow Rotator + Sluggish Chopper Motor = Dying Batteries
Send those batteries last for at least 10 years so the federal signal won't die out
Oh wow, this thing needs a siren hospital. Badly. :(
+The Hard Drive Guru poor siren :(
Actually, I believe that either it needs new batteries or the chopper needs adjusting. The siren may also need to be replaced. I don't mind it being replaced, as long as it's something good (which, to me, is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what other siren enthusiasts think is "good", such as others thinking the 508 is good, but I think a 208 volt 2001-130 is MUCH BETTER!!!)
um 2001's only run on 48v DC dude. doesn't matter if its 240, 208,v or whatever, its all rectified to 48v DC. :P
umbrefawx Oh.
Now I thought it was 72VDC...
Wow! Siren is turning but no sound. Seems creepy.
Damn that thing has issues.

Abbey Maddox dang I didn't k ow girls where on siren videos too :D
XMA channel i dont often like them i study stuff were as im starting to study the 300 yr old tadcaster bridge after the floods causin it to collapes etc like this type of siren
This siren is already dead, it just doesn’t know it. 🎅🎅🎅💵🦀
Yeah, I'm guessing that the batteries are low with this one seeing as not only is the pitch much deeper then usual, but it slightly drops more through out the rest of the test, not to mention that you can see some slowness to it as it rotates, but good to know that they fixed it.
the siren has a really low battery
If they would clean the solar panels on the thing that wouldn't be a problem! Not all the sirens are on grids, there's an electric bill ha know!! And also a date they should at least come clean it!!
SRN's don't use batteries cuz the SRNB's were the first to be battery operated
@@tsg931 nope
0:43 alert
4:13 growl
4:40 ambience
More like 1:06 for alert, but your right.
1:24 it looks like it's going to explode
dang someone get that thing some Advil
Lol
Aren't the batteries almost dead on this siren? Because the chopper sounds weak!
Choppers worn too according to a channel that made a compilation which included this clip it has a worn-down dying chopper motor
But it's possible that could also be combined with weak batteries
Silas McGee no it’s definitely the batteries. When it starts to wind up quickly the rotator motor stops because the chopper motor is using all the power from the batteries to wind up
@@soulsweeper1630 it was already determined to be a worn motor by another Channel and it's been fixed so nobody cares is not important anymore

Clyde must have very poor siren maintenance records.. 1st, the High pitched 3T22, now the 2001- SRN
Chopper didn't have enough power to sound for the attack signal but the rotator did. It's actually going at about normal speed for attack.
Best guess here is a dead battery.
This is a 2001-SRN. 2001-SRNBs were the first 2001 siren to use batteries
No the SRNs don't use batteries and if the battery was dead the siren wouldn't sound at all idiot! Pfft 😤
Not true, all 2001s had battery options
@@indymetrosirens5643 2001 SRN's had battery options. There's one near me with a battery box and rectifier to charge the batteries off the power grid.
@@Videogamer52100 lol I wrote that comment when I was 11. I thought the B stood for batteries
Poor little 2001 I like 2001s I like 2001 DC and a 2001-130
*Time of death:4:42*
*R.I.P 2001-srn!*
It's fixed
Sounds like it's being powered by a hand drill!!
Federal Signal: Mommy! I feel sick! Mother Federal Signal: Show me dear. [Plays Sick Siren] [Coughs] Federal Signal: See now?
In the middle of the alert, it sounds fine and steady(even though it's low powered). But i do hear it slowly dying... I know it is fixed now, but the 2001's should sound like it did at 2:06. the HZ is too high.
2:06 is basically a 2001 Equinox, which I don't get why they exist honestly. Same chopper and ports as a 508, I believe.
the wind up reminds me of a Honda I saw on the road not that long ago...
4:42 it's doing attack i think it can't do it
This is so sick. I also heard a non-sick Federal Signal.
*_Hear at that worn down chopper motor! Ouch!_*
*_Also, dead batteries._* :(
Yes it sounds awful
No because SRNB's were the first 2001's to use batteries and if the battery had to've been dead the siren wouldn't sound nor rotate 😤Get your facts straight before you try to prove a point cuz it ain't gonna work out
@@tsg931 you can't say that when your wrong
That siren has crippling depression.
The ambient sirens at the beginning are really neat though
The wind up speed varies. The first half of the windup is slow, but at the 2nd half, it suddenly "jumps" in wind up speed. I guess the chopper motor and batteries are at fault
There are no batteries on SRN's. The SRNB's were the first sirens in the 2001 series to use batteries
@@tsg931 Every single model of 2001 can run on batteries and most do.
@@tsg931 SRN's do have battery capability. One by me has a battery box and rectifier to run off the grid. They could be ordered AC only, DC only, or AC/DC with rectifier.
Im sick as well right now :(
Which siren is playing in the background ?? The very high pitch one

This siren has been fixed now
Good :)
"is anyone watching?" ahh rotation 😭🙏🙏
It rotates just at the speed of a T-128, maybe less
Oh that was just me,
I was racing my friend down the road.
Sounds like asc T128
0:11 siren shows plus I hope it gets some repairs to nit sound sock or deep sounded!

That siren did not want to go to work today.
It's not sick, it's doing its best Allertor impression :P
R u lying?
it seemed like it was harmonizing for a little while, i've recorded tornado sirens harmonizing and it sounded just like it.
This is an SRN but it wanted to be an Equinox
Does that Federal Signal 2001 need batteries or new motor or new rotator

What is it with Clyde and their wacky sirens?
To quote Henry Spencer, "Oh, you ARE sick!"
haha what is up with clyde, ohio having messed up sirens? 2 of the 3t22's there are messed up as well
+John Paul Kalilec He pointed that out in the description.
I hope they get repaired, as they are one of the discontinued sirens that can do the "fire" signal.
+Alex Jamieson well Clyde doesn't use fire signal so it wouldn't really matter
That 2001 flamed his control box and she was drinking a hot tempest cola and she need a milk
On a scale of 1 to 10, how much did the place smell like Magic Blue Smoke?
0.01%
When you woke up late for your job and you're still tired
Sounds like someone just screaming in rage getting louder and louder! 😂
i hear a few t-128s and other fs 2001s in the background too
In clyde (oh) you can hear the high pitch 3t22
That ambiance at the end is creepy... gotta love rotating sirens singing in chorus
Can anyone tell me what the term "sick" means? Does it mean damaged or broken? Or malfunction?
reality all of the above
Just found out it was actually an SRN-AC
That wind up reminded me of a turbo-hybrid era Formula 1 car
Sounds like a 508
The first 2001 siren to sound more like a sentry
Get him some chicken soup and some cold medicine becaude dAMN THATS A SICK SIREN. Those in the town probably have no idea it's sick :(
I love the siren ambience
is the chopper broken
This is the same town that has that very very very high pitched 3t22
Problems often happen with SRNs
sounds like an engine accelerating
maybe more like a gas powered 2001 running at low speed
The other sirens are in the background are working fine. But that siren has low batteries.
When it started rotating the first thing I thought was “is this a siren rotate test or is it the other 2001 in the backround?”
The thing that puzzles me is why the Siren keeps on rotating even without making any noise at all, very weird.
When it finally started to make noise I thought it was just an airplane in the back ground.
Is there something in the motor???!
The Little Siren That Couldn't
The motor for the chopper is really bad.
Poor siren Wait! Its an Equonox
No it isn’t
@@kansasstatealerting2874 he ment it sounded like an equinox because of the low pitch.
@@FreddyFazbear-os4su yeah i know that now haha.
@@FreddyFazbear-os4su Do not stuff them in a Animatronic suits.
Wait...hold up...
First, its an AC/DC SRN..oh hell the problem is like literally in front of our faces. Yes its running off the batteries, and they are low. But why? Especially considering its an AC/DC (Meaning it should be running off of main power, not its batteries.
This siren has a main power problem, meaning it is not getting power from the pole. I confidently say this for two reasons. IT being an AC/DC siren and knowing the setups myself. This siren should not be running off of batteries unless its under a power failure condition, which is obviously looks like it is because also for the second reason. If there WAS main power, the internal battery chargers would be doing their jobs and charging the batteries, which are as you can see, don't last long.
Cool. I never knew such things about these units. Thank you for your knowledge and sharing.
Wow that thing needs a replace ment fast
Or a T-128 or a T-135
SirenDude1003 Opinion respected. And I also like the 508 and Equinox.
Hopefully an eclipse will be out in if it is replaced
Put in

Sounds Like a 508 Lol
Sounds like a T-128 or T-135 AC/DC
The quiet whelen😎
Well this 2001 siren is still rotating but the sound is coming in the different place
1:14 is that the siren or a motercycle?
That thing isn’t either getting the power it needs or there’s some electronics that needs replaced
You mean replacing
It's so damaged, it's scary
you spin me right round

1:08 is when the siren starts
You mean 1:13
when will it shift gears
At least we know the SNERB works
The siren just didn't wanna wake up
that siren needs to be taken down, and taken apart piece by piece to find the problem and fix said problem, the put back together piece by piece, and put back up on its pole.
The motor was badly worn out
Did Corona infect this siren?
1:17 rotater troubles
