Genius!
Never ever knew about tomato powder!
This channel is AWESOME!
Cheers, welcome aboard! Yea, it's a great ingredient to have in the pantry
Your work changed my adventure meals. Leaving tomorrow with simple rice plus chicken or tuna. No “mush” in a bag. Many thanks!
Awesome! Glad they are working for you
I think the TVP Italian sausage idea would be a great direction. I’m guessing a few fennel seeds, more garlic and oregano? I also like adding some onion flakes.
Yum! I think I would saute diced onion, green pepper and Mushroom before adding the sauce ingredients for a little added flavor. I would add the pasta last so that it would be easier to mix the sauce ingredients. I can't wait to give this a try!
My luxury item would be olive oil.
Noodles, ketchup, butter, Italian seasoning with garlic, and parmesan cheese.. Killer. Works great with ramen noodles too.
Haha, I have never wanted to “house” Mc Donald’s nuggets before BUT Chef, YOU’RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! I would totally crush that down on trail! Love this stuff Chef Corso, thank you and keep bringing us great trail food options.
>Crazy cheese pull!!
cheers Tach!
Yum, now I have to buy a stack more herbs and seasonings for my kitchen chuck box.
I want to try this with orzo or couscous and basil.
Sounds good to me!
Can't wait to try this. Looking forward to a Chicken Parm as well.
Durham!!
30 min from me.
Bummer I missed you
I’m surprised you haven’t made yourself a pot cozy from Reflectix in order to keep the meal warm longer when taking it off the burner and decreasing the potential for burning/scorching as you run low on water - just take the pot off the flame, put it in the cozy, and wait ten minutes. Slow eaters will appreciate their meal staying warm. In uninsulated titanium, things tend to cool down really quick.
Hey A, yea I know it’s great for a lot of people but just hasn’t been a need for me.
@@ChefCorso with winter coming and being in the Midwest, daytime highs will be in the 20s or 30s. Pretty hard to keep the food warm for more than a minute or two in those conditions without a cozy. I could keep returning to the flame, but with a titanium pot it becomes easy to scorch and burn a meal that’s done cooking.
@@andymytys yep, makes sense
I’m amazed at how deep red powdered Tomato turns compared to paste.
Indeed! Was interesting to see
I've been working on the same, and I love the tomatoes paste tube, I
If you want to save on fuel, you could try using risoni, which has a shorter cooking time. Also, for maximum taste, add your pepper at the end of the cooking.
Welcome to Durham!
Great video chef. I’m taking my father on a one night trip through the mountains this weekend and I’m trying something similar using the Kraft box spaghetti dinner with the tomato paste you’re using. I’ll let you know how it goes water conservation is always a must for me.
Nice Job ..Cant wait to try it..
I'm assembling one meal for tomorrow's kayak to the other side of Kachemak Bay for lunch and back. I'm gonna just go with Round 1 to start with but I can't figure the Italian seasoning at 1 tablespoon = 10 grams. The whole jar is 15grams. My weight for 1 tablespoon is 2 grams. Does this sound right?
Anyway, looking forward to this and your other one potters on my trips. Thank you for producing and posting.
Each spice blend has slightly different weights. Start with a little and go from there.
Years ago, while having dinner at some Italian friends of my parents, we were served spaghetti with red sauce and TUNA. I wonder how a packet of that would go in your trail spaghetti.
Oops, I posted before I watched all of the videol.
Ha. All good. It would be great! Make it your own
Chicken Parmesan!
Ya was doing great till the McNuggets. I don’t go any ware near the Golden Arches since I was a maintenance tech for them.I’d modify it with a pouch of chicken or maybe chicken jerkey. No nuggets.
The tube of tomato sauce says to refrigerate after opening. How are you supposed to use the tube multiple times?
Indeed it does. From my experience, it can last at ambient with the lid on with minimal issue for days. You do what you feel most comfortable with.
