I used 7/8 ribbon and did 4 colors. A1 B1 B2 A2 (A is strait line yellow and white) (b1 is under and b 2 is over ) A1 is 2 yards, b1 and flip is 38", b2 is 3 yards 3", A2 is 2 yards. To make 36" ribbon. Reason B1 is 38 is because of the under over it needs to be upside down to start so pretty side is up and gives full 36 in length as middle.

I'm loving this braid! I'm struggling with trying to prevent the tails from being so short/long. Any thoughts on where to off center the straight piece within the folded piece?
Thank you!! My last few braids of the season I made the straight ribbon about 18” longer and pulled it to the left about 8”. Since the season is over I’m going to try a few different lengths and offsets so I can give out better measurements next season. That one short tail drove me crazy.

measurements 3 yards +10" and 3 yards 18" =23" braid (I was going for 24")
