I know it’s mum season 2023 now and I’ve had a few questions about the diamond back chain. I’m going to see what size ribbons I currently have and will do several sizes in a separate video. I will get back as soon as I see what I have. 9/26/23.
I actually just got done filming 3 more sizes and 2 other additional chains. I just need to edit my video and I will post it. Hopefully, in the next couple of days. Stay tuned!

Hi there! I'm your neighbor from Corpus Christi here lol and I just have to say your tutorial was absolutely perfect! You simplified everything so well & are very well spoken! Thank you so much for making this video. You're a life saver. 💗
Thanks a million for this video!! I really appreciate it! This is my first time to make a homecoming mum and I am feeling overwhelmed. Your instructions are easy to understand and have made me feel like I can do this! I also love that you are a fellow NEISD parent. (My kids go to Reagan)
Thanks, Betsy and welcome! Glad to hear it was helpful. They can look overwhelming sometimes but once you break everything down, you will see how easy they really are. Always happy to see people from NEISD! Thanks for watching!

Hello! I’m sorry, I can’t remember the exact number. For a ribbon that wide, I would start by cutting 3 or 4 pieces 10.5” long and see if they fit snug before doing the whole chain.
You’re welcome! They can be so much fun to make. I’m glad I could help. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment. I have a few other videos on mums. Be sure to check them out.
I'm glad to hear that you found the tutorial easy to follow, and I appreciate your compliment about the camera angle. Adding a braided ribbon sounds like a lovely idea for your granddaughter's mum! It can add a unique touch. If you have any questions or need further guidance, please don't hesitate to ask. I wish you the best of luck with your project, and I'm sure your granddaughter will be thrilled with her mum

This is helpful but I have a question, if trying to make the diamond back chain but my ribbon is 1 1/2 inches, according to how your formula for the length to width ratio is does that mean I have to cut 12 1/2” long strips?
Hello and welcome! Sorry for the day late response. I’ve been trying to locate my chart as it’s been a while and haven’t found it, yet. Try 11 3/4". I just made a new video. ua-cam.com/video/1C22DOXZ0eM/v-deo.html

Hi. How do you secure the letters to the ribbon? The one I purchased from someone, the letters are peeling off the ribbon and my son hasn’t used the mum yet but I dont know how to make sure they stay on. Wasn’t sure if fabric glue or a kind of spray?
@@ambarhernandez5647 - If you need it in a few hours, I would use the hot glue gun. I’ve used it many times and it’s always stayed for me. If you don’t need it today, then yes you can use the E6000 tube. Thanks for watching! Hope this helps!
Some girls like hanging them on their bedroom walls for display but If you want to keep them dust free, you can hang them on a metal hanger and place a plastic dry cleaning bag over them. I always bend the sides of a metal hanger all the way down. You can also bend the hanging part if needed. I slide the mum in through the Mum pin. Hope that make sense. Maybe I’ can do a video. 😊. A boy would accent a simple bloom with a few ribbons or adornments and give it to a date who would proudly wear the floral brooch to the homecoming game or dance. mums grew in popularity throughout the latter half of the 20th century, the tradition spread into neighboring states. as popularity grew, so did the average size of a mum. By the 1980s and '90s, mums became increasingly elaborate, and real chrysanthemum blooms were replaced with artificial flowers in varying shades, carefully selected to match school colors. Rather than attempt to pin the larger arrangements to their clothing, some young women wear their mums around their necks. Girls now make their own mums and wear them or gift them as well. Hope this helps! 😊. Thanks for watching!

Hello, this is my first time making a mum. Are all of your ribbons acetate? I want to make the arrow chain.
Most are except for the decorative ones like the glitter ones, etc. for the Arrow chain the silver one wasn’t acetate if I recall correctly.
Most of my robins 1 1/2 or 7/8. In fact I bought the 7/8 for braids. How long do I cut them?

@RoseOatley its polyester does it have to be satin..only because it keeps the shape
Acetate and polyester satin are good ones.
