If both of Tharn's parents were elves, how exactly was he a Tharn? They're a human family, was he adopted? Also, if he was a mix of Dunmer and Altmer, why is his race listed as Bosmer? I'm confused
Tharn's parents aren't known. Though nearly all (if not all) known Tharn family members are Imperial (Abnur, Clivia, Euraxia, etc.), it's important to note that Jagar was born at least ~4000 years after the first known member of the Tharn family and ~300-400 years after the other well-known Tharns listed above. In other words, the Tharn family may no longer be solely Imperial/Human. In "The Real Barenziah Vol. 5", Symmachus (Tiber Septim's general, and eventual husband to Barenziah) states that Jagar Tharn claims himself to have been, "born in southern Valenwood, to a Wood Elven Mother". Symmachus personally believes Jagar Tharn to be, "Part Dark Elf, part High Elf, and part the gods only know what...". Symmachus then later states that, "Human blood seems to be the one missing component in Tharn's ancestry." Some also believe that Jagar may be the Nightingale, who may in fact be the true father of King Helseth Hlaalu of Morrowind. In Tribunal, Helseth appears and is listed as Dunmer. However, this isn't saying much, given that Barenziah is also Dunmer. Also in "The Real Barenziah", Barenziah believes the Nightingale was Dunmer and/or Human. However, if he was using Illusion, he might appear as any race really. However, Barenziah believes that the Nightingale was a human "in disguise" because she became pregnant after their only time sleeping together (Elven couples apparently have more of a difficult time getting pregnant than humans, as mentioned in the book). Lastly, Jagar Tharn's appearance in Arena doesn't help much. He clearly does not have dark skin as you would expect a dark elf to have. However, in cut scenes, he has red eyes like a Dunmer. His in game character does not, but his eyes aren't really visible at all. His skin however still appears tan. Truthfully, compared to other in game figures, he appears most like a wood elf. He is more tan than the human races (other than redguards), and less tan than High Elves. From all of this, I think he is most likely, at least half-Bosmer, and no more than half of a combination of Dunmer, Altmer, and Imperial. Given that Symmachus doesn't believe Tharn is Human, we can probably assume that his Imperial blood is somewhat dilute. This also doesn't mean that he can't be more races on top of this, but I think this is a reasonable place to start, and probably a defensible minimum. Imperial due to his relation to the Tharn Family. Bosmer due to his appearance and his own claims. Dunmer based on his eyes and the belief of Symmachus and/or Barenziah Altmer based on the account of Symmachus. TLDR: 1. The Tharn family is historically Imperial 2. Jagar Tharn claims to have a Bosmer mother. 3. Symmachus believes Tharn is Dunmer, Altmer, and possibly something else OTHER than Human 4. Jagar may or may not have been the Nightingale that may or may not have fathered Helseth (who appears Dunmer), Barenziah believes this Nightingale to be Dunmer and/or Human. 5. In Arena, Jagar appears to have tanned, white skin +/- bright red eyes.

Faendal be chopping trees. He is no Bosmer.

The Green Pact only applies to Valenwood. Everyplace else is fair game.
@@HareDeLune This is true but for those that respect the pact... Just because we're not in Kansas anymore doesn't mean we should start eating raw bats.

Lol, old habits do die hard.
It's a shame that Bethesda have no respect for their own effing Lore. : (
The greatest bosmer?
1) Gaenor.. He was more scary than Almalexia, Dagoth Ur and Vivec combined..
2) The Bosmer who created 3000 Acrobatics scrolls.. It was funny =) I wander if he jumped directly from Valenwood..
3) Fithragaer. He was Epic! The way he says: Follow me! and steps on a trap was EPIC! ua-cam.com/video/mx3q5zIl95Q/v-deo.html
"Farewell."
I want Valenwood to be the setting for the next game so bad......sigh I don't think it will be
alexlewis510 Sadly it won’t. It’s pretty much confirmed to be hammerfell
Brendan Clark Yeah, don't get me wrong Hammerfell is interesting. I just think Valenwood would be awesome and way more interesting to look at than mostly deserts lol
pokezee king-wolf I know it’s not that’s why I said mostly...... Valenwood is diverse also. I don’t think you can compare Valenwood forest to Skyrim. Unless you just say “oh there’s trees”
Bosmer are not entirely carnivorous, apparently they will eat fruit that has already fallen off the tree.
The title is a trick
ALL BOSMER are the greatest of all time.
Are you ever gonna do builds again? You were doing the legacy builds and havent done them in 7 months
I hope they make some ESO builds.
If both of Tharn's parents were elves, how exactly was he a Tharn? They're a human family, was he adopted?
Also, if he was a mix of Dunmer and Altmer, why is his race listed as Bosmer? I'm confused
Tharn isn't a human family. You are assuming this based on Abnur Tharn but Abnur was a Breton so it still makes sense.
@@rylonharmon542 Adnur Tharn is Imperial. I think Calovian.
Symmachus then later states that, "Human blood seems to be the one missing component in Tharn's ancestry."
Some also believe that Jagar may be the Nightingale, who may in fact be the true father of King Helseth Hlaalu of Morrowind.
Dunmer based on his eyes and the belief of Symmachus and/or Barenziah
Altmer based on the account of Symmachus.
TLDR:
1. The Tharn family is historically Imperial
2. Jagar Tharn claims to have a Bosmer mother.
3. Symmachus believes Tharn is Dunmer, Altmer, and possibly something else OTHER than Human
4. Jagar may or may not have been the Nightingale that may or may not have fathered Helseth (who appears Dunmer), Barenziah believes this Nightingale to be Dunmer and/or Human.
5. In Arena, Jagar appears to have tanned, white skin +/- bright red eyes.
@@spankyumm3 wow, that's a very extensive explanation, thank you ^^
This is the greatest vos we of all time
Honestly Valenwood sounds like the best place. Imagine sitting in a treetop with a bunch of hot wood elf wives. That sounds like a good time.
I love the bosmers, they remind me of hobbits also they are my very first charcter race in both skyrim and oblivion
If you're charging someone and get within 20 feet they have no time to draw and accurately shoot their gun, so imagine how fast you have to be to try and shoot a warbow when the dude is a foot and a half away xD I dont remember where I learned that I think it was some police self defense thing I had to go to xD
Anyone know the name of the soundtrack at the beginning of the video? 💜

Oh fuck! That Ayleid conspiracy theory...
Where the hell are the Knights of the Nine when you need them??
But wait... you say the surviving Ayleids were assimilated back into Summerset nobility, yet they would have been considered impure by the Altmer, and so surely would never have been accepted as nobility.
